Variable of online presentation of dashboard

Hi all

I have a report on a dashboard page that navigates to another report on a page of different dashboard (on the same dashboard). The
first page of dashboard has a prompt that must be passed as a filter to the sailed report i.e. Report1 on dashpage1 has fast Level1
whose value should be passed to Report2 on dashpage2 which has Level2 (where Report2 must show values for the past Level1 Level2).
(1) I tried prompt1 setting on the first page to the dashboard, but it did not help.
(2) I'm trying to set a variable 'level1_val' presentation in the prompt1 and then in Report2 say Level2 = @{level1_val} in the responses (filter-> add variable presentation, I did not provide a default value). But when I browse Report2 shows no results. On the addition of the value of the filter, I noticed the condition of Report2 is Level1 = level1_val (taking level1_val presentation a string variable and corresponding to the Level1 guest value). Level1 prompt value is a string. Y at - he said a format "@{level1_val}' I should use in the column filter (I tried this too)?"

Thank you
Ananth

'<--a href="">
Action=navigate&col1=%22Level%20Hierarchy%22.Level1&val1='|| REPLACE (REPLACE (' @{pv_level1} ',' ', '+'), '+', '% 2B') | ' > Link<-->'

For presentation attribute replaces "with 22% and spaces with % 20, it is necessary for the syntax of the URL of the dashboard for attributes prompt report or dashboard target."

col1=%22Level%20Hierarchy%22.Level1

where "Hierarchy of levels".level1 is the true name of presentation table.column in report 2, the value is invited.

• Storage of Variable year - 1 presentation

Hi gurus,

I have a requirement where I'm passing prompt value the financial year of the dashboard a narrative as mode @{YEAR}. I would also like to add to this narrative point of view @{YEAR} - 1 though when the user selects 2012 in line with dashboard, my narrative view shud go something like this:

These data are for fiscal year 2012 and its prior year 2011. If the user selects 2011, then "data are for fiscal year 2011 and the year before 2010."

How do I achieve using PV? Tried @{YEAR} - 1, cast to int - 1, etc.

Please suggest.

Thank you
Dan

You can refer selected variable value of presentation in narrative mode, but you cannot reach

@{YEAR} - 1

Try to use the expression @{YEAR} - 1 as one of your columns in the criteria, then hide and refer in narrative mode.
That would help subtract you - 1 other wise, you may need to do the same using Javascript in narrative mode.

Hope this helps, let us know updates

• Variable passage of presentation to the physical layer in SPR

Hello

I need to pass the variable of the presentation to the RPD physical layer, so that it can be used in my table function Select, query or procedure, so OBIEE pulls all the data of the database tables.

, Someone has any idea how to achieve this?

Or if someone can tell me any other way to achieve the same functionality

Do not use quotes around the variable name as gerardnico has already suggested. It should be VALUEOF (NQ_SESSION. Numero_projet).

• Dashboard several variable guests of presentation in the title

Hi all

I have 3 guests of dashboard and I have to make them appear on the title of the report when they select guests. I know how to do it with a command prompt. Not sure if I can with several selections prompt appear on the title of the report, if so could you please give me the format how can I do. for example the electronic sales in-store Super CA, ABR,

Thank you
Ravi

A presentation variable can only contain a single value. This is why you cannot use PVs when you have a multiple selection prompt. This is also true when you have "All choices" as the selection. Behind the scenes, OBIEE interprets this chain "filterless". Therefore, there is nothing to save in the PV, and you get an error. Once you press the "Go" button, you set the variable so it can display the value.

I have no work around this issue for what you are trying to do. I'm sorry.

• Session variable with a list of dashboards availalble?

Hello

Is it possible to fill one - line-wize?-session variable (using a block variable & init system: USER) with a list of dashboards users will have access (such as the list of dashboards displayed at the top of the Web Portal) once he's logged?

My client said the obligation to provide each user with a default "Home" (different from "My dashboard") dashboard that will provide an overview of the available dashboards, accompanied by a description of each dashboard.

So, what is the syntax to use?

Thank you!

Randall

Hi Randall,.

The BI-serveur is not aware of the presentation server. In other words, that he doesn't know what dashboard a user has access. What you could do is populate a table in the comic book and use the guided navigation to access the dashboard.

• How to store the values of variable level OBIEE presentation in DB

Hi all!

We have a command prompt of dashboard which is set up to store values in variables of presentation (period start and period end dates). Is there a way to store values selected from a database? for further processing?
that is, I need to pass the variable level (report parameters) presentation to complex calculations to a PL/SQL function.
Also my requirement might be solved if I can get access to the selected values of logical column in the tab 'Business Model and mapping' definition in the BI administrator.
that is, I'll be able to define the logical column using VALUEOF (NQ_SESSION. < nom_var >)

Kind regards
Mr.Maverick

Hello.

1 do SQL PL/function (in the database) which has an input parameters, which number depends on number of guests and in it you'll insert these parameters into a table.

2. your report in column expression answers call this function that will do insert, the code would be like:
EVALUATE ("YOUR_FUNCTION (1%, 2%, 3%, 4%) (' as varchar (20), @{p_1}, @{p_2}, @{p_3}, @{p_4})

3. Note that the function returns something and be careful on data types inside EVALUATE it.

4. notes that, in the case where some messages are not selected (all or nothing) you recognize this case as:

-case when LENGTH('@{pv_var}') > 0 then ' @{pv_var}' end else' all '.

or like this:

-case when LENGTH('@{pv_var}') is null then 'all choice"other" @{pv_var}' end; "

• Using variables in the queries and dashboards

Hi Freinz,

I am using a prompt and dashboard based on the selection in the guests shud of data filled.

I used the query variable line dashboard option and creates reference static variables of the administration.

I created the 'green' variable and in the applications for the "VERTICAL" column, I put the variable as being of 'green '.
It is the same value as I gave in the prompt variable set dashboard-> variable query.

Guyz pls help me...

Pls let me know the steps to follow.

How shud I? the values in the row of dashboard applications /

Thank you
Veena

In the report, create a filter of coming and going VERTICAL. In the filter creation, click on Add - Variable - presentation, now in the Expr variable name of the variable, the default value indicates no value for this PORTRAIT.

Now, put your prompt and the dashboard report, test.

• Variable of OBIEE presentation

Hello

I am facing problem with calculations using the variable of presentation used in the formula in the column on the reports.

The report is generated correctly for the first time using the variable of presentation.

But when I change the value of the field in the command prompt, the variable of presentation does not get applied to the report and I explicitly click on the Refresh button to generate the report with good results.

Any ideas to fix this please?

Thanks in advance...

Shravan

Try you luck with this, do not value pass default ther by formula... do it through 'default selection' of the guest

(CASE WHEN ' @{Budget} "="Business Plan"and THEN filter ("Events"". ")") Participant Ops recipes"using"Scenario ". "" Gen2, scenario ' = 'Business Plan' AND 'period '. ("' Gen2, period" = "YearTotal") WHEN ' @{Budget} "="Internal Budget"and THEN filter ("Events"." Participant Ops recipes"using"Scenario ". "" Gen2, scenario ' = 'Internal Budget' AND 'period '. (("" Gen2, period "="YearTotal") END) / 1000

hope this will help.

• How to check the Session Variables using the analytical web dashboard

This is my first post. Easy points to the first right answer... If I can figure out how to give points.

Problem: I need to know how to check that the Session Variables with the Administration of Oracle BI tool are used by the web analytics tool.

Environment: Windows running Oracle 10g BI. Connect to the database using web analytics http:// < server >: 9704/analytics, web analytics is running in a windows Explorer browser.

Current situation: the analytical tool is connected to the database and I can use the screen of "Answers" to the table edge to probe the tables look and things as expected.
In the administration Oracle BI tool I can see the session of web analytics and I see that he thinks that the Session Variables are set correctly.
I have reasons to doubt that the analytical tool is to get the right variables and I need to check it out.
I know that I should use the 'Answer' window to create a shape any of a query that includes NQ_SESSION. < my variable >, but I can't understand what the format should be doing the work.

That's all I need.

What I do is insert a text in my dashboard object and then set the properties of the text object to display the variable.

for example to display the DISPLAYNAME variable, the text object properties are:

User: @{biServer.variables ['NQ_SESSION.]} {[DISPLAYNAME']}

• Connection problems in presentation Services - dashboards & responses

Hi all

I'm a new user who is trying to follow the tutorial OBE for self-study.

I have a laptop Windows 7.0 I have installed:
Oracle 10.2.0.1 database + Client
OBIEE 10.1.3.4
JDK 1.6.0_4

As a result of the tutorial OBE, the installation went through without any problems including OC4j.

I can connect to the Administration using Administrator/administrator.

I have ensured that all services were restarted:
Oracle BI Java host
Oracle BI presentation services
Oracle BI Server
OC4J began

However, when I try to connect to the Referral Services the following happens:

The URL is http://laptop_name:9704/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard

I have the of the OBI Administrator/administrator login page.
I enter the page of interactive dashboards. So far so good.

However, as soon as I press on one of the links I find back to the OBI login page.
Example 1 I click on the link to answers and it returns me to the OBI with this URL login page: http://laptop_name:9704/analytics/saw.dll?Answers & _scid = cS0HaZqrGJk
I enter Administrator/Administrator and get a page that says:
Not connected
You are not already connected to the Oracle BI server.
If you have already logged in, your login may have expired, or a communication or a server error occurred.

E.g.2 I re-login to presentation Services and click on the "it's an empty dashboard Page. "Click here to add content" link it returns me to the OBI with this URL login page:
http://laptop_name:9704/Analytics/saw.dll?EditDashboard & _scid = fkph * RB * My8 & PortalPath = / Users/Administrator/_portal & page = page % 201 & Done = Dashboard
I get Administrator/Administrator and access the page of the editor dashboard. Here, if I click on dashborads under the saved content I get an error that says:
Unable to communicate with Oracle BI presentation Services. Please make sure you're always connected and try again.

I have performed these steps on the other laptop with the same configurations 7.0 Win and it worked so what's the problem with my system, I even tried OBIEE 10.1.3.4 but get eaxctly the same problem.

So, what I'm missing, any ideas please?

Thank you

Fabien

• Orchestrator web client: using variables in one presentation to another page

A workflow that works linking orchestrator does not running the web client because (after a repair) I found that the values of a page of the submission form is not available on the other. For example, the user selects the string: templateName on the first page and the following pages using #templateName to call a function. However, this variable is empty so can not be used. However, it can access General variables with values hard-coded.

Is this a bug? limitation? Are there workarounds?

(I use vsphere client 5.5 build 2026576)

Default value is set once while data binding must be updated each time that the first field is changed.

Sometimes what happens is that when the workflow starts, the default value cannot be calculated because the parameter is not yet set.

You can avoid making mistakes with the launch of the first privilege of actions: if (parameterName == null) return null;

But I'm surprised the example that you gave does not work.

Check the server.log file to verify if the action runs with the empty parameter en or if there is another error.
