VCAC 5.2 with virtual Center 5.5 Point

I am currently using VCAC 5.2 to deploy machines in Vpshere Server 5.1 and everything works fine.

However, I need to upgrade this server Vsphere to 5.5. VCAC 5.2 can still orchestrate to Vsphere 5.5 or do I have to upgrade the VCAC 6.0 before I can all the server Vsphere upgrades

Thank you

Ryan

vCAC 5.2 works perfectly with vSphere 5.5. But if you have any dependence on vCO 5.1 the vCAC 5.2 for implementing custom service, you will need to upgrade your vCO to 5.5 and run it in compatibility mode to work with 5.2 vCAC.

  • Problems with virtual center/vsphere client

    Hello

We use Vsphere client 4.0.0 build 208111 with Virtual Center Server version and same build.

    I have 2 problems:

    1. I have a virtual machine with only one disc that is shown on 2 different data stores. If I look through the models and virtual computers, I see only 1 vm. If I look through the data warehouse screen, I see it in the store data-002 and 003-store data. If I go to the settings of the virtual machine on the datastore-002 and check the disk, I see the path in the store of data-003.

    How can I fix?

    2. I turned on a windows 2003 vm. I couldn't close it via customer vpshere because the status of VM Tools showed not running. When I logged in the system, he showed OK and then I could close by the customer.

Do I always login for virtual machine tools to perform?

    Thank you

    Haim defending

This virtual machine has a CD / ISO mounted?  What happens if you click edit setting on the virtual machine, that says the file of the disk?

Also, go to the service console and watching a .vmx file, it should say something like

    scsi0:1.fileName = "servername.vmdk"

Then look at the hard, it should point to something like

     VMFS "servername-flat.vmdk"

  • ESX 3.5 U3 with Virtual Center Update 4 questions?

Does anyone know of any problems with combining ESX U3 with Virtual Center U4?

    Is - this bad idea?

I'm getting errors when the network configuration "request failed because the remote server has taken too long to respond" I don't know if its network related or associated with mixing ESX 3.5 U3 with VCenter U4.

    Ideas or comments please.

    Thank you

Yes, this client was running ESX 3.5 U3 with VC 2.5 U4.  Only, they began their upgrade to vSphere, but prior had run several host ESX 3.5 U3 with VC 2.5 U4 for more than 6 months without any problem you describe.

  • Product support VMware Virtual Center 2.5

Anyone know of a document or could tell me what Vmware platforms can be managed through VirtualCenter. Is it possible to manage VMware Server or merger, for example.

    Thank you very much

Welcome to the Forum - virtual Center 2.5 is specially designed to manage only the ESX/ESXi - you will not be able to manage VMware Server or merge with virtual center

  • change virtual center with a new

This is my first post, I hope it's the right place and that someone could help me. I have 6 esx 3.5.0 and 1 vc 2.5.0

I host more then 5 and 50 vm and I saw this problem http://communities.VMware.com/docs/doc-3290 so I installed a new virtual Center 2.5 u5 to migrate MS sql 2005 express to MS sql 2005 sp2 standard, are both VMs.

I don't want to migrate the data (see above second problem), I want to restart with own db, I recreated the cluster and now I want to migrate the new hosts and virtual machines in former vc.

I do not understand whether it is enough:

to DISCONNECT the hosts and then reconnect it to the new Victoria Cross.  When I have reconnected all hosts, I could disable old VC

    or

turn off the virtual machines then REMOVE the host from the cluster on old vc, then add new host on cluster on new VC, then turn on virtual machines

This second choice is very difficult because I need to turn off all my virtual machines, and it is not so easy in a production environment!

this assistance is useful, but it's with db migration http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 5850444 that I don't want to.

If there is an easier choice, it's better! http://communities.VMware.com/images/emoticons/wink.gif !

You can vmotion the comments ok?  I do not think that the service starts do not ssh is related to your work that you do.

Deployment of Windows 2008 Server X 64 system of operating invited by using hosts Virtual Center 4.0 and ESX 3.5 implements a message telling me:

This isn't just normal? Just today I upgraded to VC4.0 to be able to deploy my new servers based on findings on this forum. And no matter if I change the Machintype Vista x 64 or elsewhere Vista32 (what is wrong of course). Any other gopt experience with this?

There should be no need to upgrade to vCenter4 just to be able to customize a W2K8 Guest.  We vCenter 2.5 and have no problem.

as part of the upgrade, using Crossover, a new vCenter agent is pushed. So, no, you don't break anything.

  • Problems with VMware virtual Center 2.5.0 and ESX 3.5.0 123630

I lost connection to my SAN over the weekend and restarted my entire stack. Everything came to life, except a host server ESX is grayed out and shows disconnected my cluster of Virtual Center. If I right click on the host, everything is gray except 'Add alarm, add Permission, summary report and Performance report'.  I was able to connect directly to the host and was able to start the VM on the host machines, but my question is how to run in my cluster Virtual Center? I have no option to remove or connect.

    Thank you

try restarting your vCenter Server Service

... also, you can restart pass and/or management agents vCenter on the host in question to the service console

    > service mgmt-vmware restart

    > service vmware-vpxa restart

  • Use of Virtual Center with SRM

I plan to our implementation of the SRM and understand I need 1 Center Virtual Server in each site. At this moment I have a unique virtual center server that manages both sites.

Am I right in thinking that I need to have only the hosts in a site connected to the virtual center server in the same site and the same thing on the other side?

Right now I am able to stop a virtual machine in a site and make a cold migration from one data center to another.  My understanding is that I'll lose this feature by going to a multiple configuration of virtual center. Is this correct?

    Thank you!

    Yes, it's okay...

A VC on the protected Site. A VC on the recovering Site.

As an ESX host may not be a member of two VCs, at the same time - you will be able cold - migrates both...

Exported to the OVF format and import using OVF are perhaps - an alternative...

  • Considerations of Design for the U1 Virtual Center 6.0

I look at the deployment options in my environment and the plan initially to resist a LAB environment. I was looking at the possibility of defending the VCSA "LAB" with HA PSC behind and F5 load balancing. My question / concerns are I will be at a later date connect you to windows or virtual VCSA in this HA PSC environment? I know that you cannot mix windows and the PSC system, but I think that you should not have problems connecting a virtual center of windows to VCSA PSC? I hope that what I am asking is logical...

"vCenter Server Deployment Models" > "mixed operating system environment' > 'Eexample of a mixed environment of operating systems with a device of service of external platform controller' section of the documentation of vSphere 6 have answers to your question." " It goes the same for environmental HA PSC behind F5.

  • Is a new virtual Center required for deployment of Horizon view 6 / licensing issues

    Hey all,.

Just curious to know if it is required or existing best practice to install a separate virtual Center for your environment from view of the Horizon, or if it is correct to attach it in your VC.

Also, reading that I've done, it seems that when you buy Horizon display 6 advances you get ESXi licenses as well?  Is it true.

When it comes to the Windows 7 license you ave h to buy anything for your VDI VMware or do you just an open license / SA with Microsoft for Windows 7/8

I think the projections and business decisions will do that for you.   Some circles have separate teams who manage desktop and server infrastructure.  In these scenarios, you can have a dedicated instance for VDI and the office team.     In other environments, you can be a small shop where a couple of technicians do everything.   In this environment, it can be allowed to have a single vCenter.     I still hate the TI depends on the answers, but in this case it really depends on your environment and how you want to manage.

2: based on the comparison on the site, all the editions come with vSphere and vCenter for desktop.    I read you right, but I would check with a specialist VMware licenses.

3: Just that you have the licenses required in view and vSphere VMware wants.  They do not all control over your Microsoft licenses.
