• Class VCP and the issue of Certification

  I want to just make sure I read it correctly.

  You must take a VMware class if you want to get the VCP certification?

  If this is the case, seems to be more than a bit of a scam to me. Use VMware for four years in a company and the looks of easy test after that much experience.

  Having to pay a lot of money for a class on what I already know...

  You are right. It is mandatory to follow the official VMware courses and pass the examination to be a PCV. Practical experience is strongly recommended to help you pass the exam and you can go to take the exam without taking the course, but even if you pass the exam, you will be officially certified until what the official course.

  I guess they do it to enhance the VCP. They are also trying very hard to prevent people from taking brain dump to pass the exam.

  Hi Welcome to the forums.

  The total cost depends on a) how much tuition fees. (b) course how you decide to do. (c) how many times take you the exam.

  You have to follow a course of training approved vmware in order to register for the examination of the secure Channel. Take a look through the forums, a good starting point is the training section and the education of VMware site

• Best Certification path

  Hi all

  After VCP - VTC 5.5, I'm confused what to take certification path.

  I looked at the roadmap of certification:

  Is it better to upgrade to VCP6 - VTC and wait for the VCIX6-VTC?

  or

  Go to VCAP5-DCD / VCAP5-DCA

  Depends on what you use the most and how much time you have done on the VCAP exams. If no then I wanted to wait for VCIX-6 and just do one of these exams and then you will get automatically the VCP6. Rumors are VCIX exams are early next with the beta version due to arrive any day now

• Unable to find valid certification path after a 11.1.1.6 to 11.1.1.7 upgrade

  I had a composite small deployed in 11.1.1.6 and after I get a upgrade to 11.1.1.7

  javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Message send failed: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException:

  PKIX path building failed:

  sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: could not find the path of valid certification for target asked

  This means that my composite soa now cannot validate the certificate of the server it tries to connect to?

  Can someone share ideas on how to fix it?

  The end point you call is I think a https url?

  If so, did you add the client certificate of this url to your JVM certificate store in 11.1.1.6?

  Is it possible that the JVM uses 11.1.1.7, doesn't have these certificates in the store?

  Try to add this area to the certification path you store of certificates (a certification authority is usually placed in the trust store).

• Period of validity for the VCP course

  I took a VCP accredited course in August 2009.  In the meantime, I focused on the reception other certifications that our virtualization project has been put on hold.  I am now ready to review the VCP study material and plan my session for review.  My question is this... how long did you take the VCP course to pass the exam before having to return to Collect?

  I guess that your course was on vSphere 4, such as the vSphere: run install configure manage? There is no time limit for the course and the review itself, the certification is specific to the version, as the course is, so as long as your course was on vSphere 4 the current review is on the same version.

• Passed the VCP-310 today: Challenging to say the least review

  It took me about three months before feeling ready to book an exam with Pearson VIEW. I've never touched a VI3 product before but felt I couldn't miss this certification for my career.

  The VCP - 310 exam is certainly more difficult that we tell CompTIA or Microsoft

  One of the exhibition was not related to the subject of question (done on purpose!) It wasn't a matter of submission that I managed to reproduce the drawing of the part of the question with the stylus provided and wrapped in plastic of paper (the question was linked with the settings of firewall ports and the piece was bound to a schema pie of Resource Pool and actions).

  I was stunned by some of the questions, I even though I spend time first review.

  Review the answers in the end helped me to regain confidence, however.

  The end result is a score of 93%.

  Not only a practical knowledge of the underlying COMPUTER technology is required (Windows, Unix / Linux, Ethernet, TCP/IP, iSCSI SAN, FC, NFS, x 86 server hardware, troubleshooting, database connectivity, backup, high availability, disaster, continuity, permissions / roles...)

  But a basic knowledge of other VMWare products are also required (server, workstation, player, Fusion, ACE, configuration of VMS and gOS...)

  Hands on with the installation and set up Labs definitely helped me to build my confidence.

  My advice is to start studying the tutorials install and configure VMware, and from there find information more specific related to VMware released a PDF file.

  Several screws supplied with LabVIEW turned off debugging.  This can improve run-time performance, but it prevents anyone crossing the EIS.  If you want to scroll through these screws, you can enable debugging on back of the dialog properties of VI (Ctrl-I, then go to the run page).  I would say turning back off to return on the screws to the State in which they were shipped, once you have finished debugging debugging.

  Hi name is Kenya Caldwell and I am trying to install a program called Autocad, but whenever I do, I get the message following error 1314. The %appdata%\Autocad specified path is not unavailable.  I received a response from Autocad, but I do not understand, or not if it is correct.  Could someone help me with this problem?  Below is the message of Autocad.

  When you have created a deployment or performing a stand-alone installation, you tried to specify the installation location using an environment variable, such as %ProgramFiles%, but you receive one of the following error messages:

  Please provide the path name where the customers go to install AutoCAD 2007 on their local computers.

  Error 1314. The path '% PROGRAMFILES%\..' is not available.

  Solution

  It is not possible to specify a variable of environment such as installation or the installation of customer location in a stand-alone installation or network deployment. If you install to different locations on different machines, it is strongly recommended that you use the deployment wizard to create several configurations of deployment for each location.

  To use a variable of environment as the installation location, you must run the installation of the product from the command line. This can be done by entering the following in the command line Windows or via a batch/script file.

  Note: This installation method is not tested or supported by Autodesk.

  Stand-alone installation

  MsiExec.exe /i "\Bin\AcadFEUI\acad.msi ' INSTALLDIR=%PROGRAMFILES%\
