vCenter & installation simple SSO

Hello guys,.

I have an installation simple vCenter + SSO + WebClient on the same machine and I need to change the ip address of the virtual machine, all these components are running in.

I like to keep all the data (roles and rights, licenses).

You know a special procedure to avoid re - install everything from scratch?

vCenter version 5.5 U2

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you, Daniele

If you have systems configured with the host name, just change the DNS record and empty the DNS on the server. If you have everything configured with IPs, then try to re-pointing things according to this KB: VMware KB: re-score and the reinstatement of VMware vCenter Server 5.1 / 5.5 and components

I did some research and found a lot of simple or basic installation for vCenter 5.1. Another installation is to install vcenter 5.1 with SSO. Basic and simple installation should include SSO and the inventory of components but why someone must specify the installation with SSO and it will manually create SQL DB for SSO? What Setup is recommended?

  • vCenter linked mode SSO

    Hello

I am trying to understand the SSO with related modes works

Today I have a vCenter installed with SSO installed as a base and. Now, I implement SRM here and after I install the second vCenter as base too much on the other site and try to create a linked mode an error pops up

in ID incompatibility or something like that. I read that multisite is necessary to deploy related modes.

How can I configure related here, but the problem is that I can't change the basic deployment in the first vcenter because it uses Nexus 1000V is a complex configuration for me.

I can reinstall the second vCenter because nothing is yet set in.

    Thank you

Unfortunately because you have it installed as a base, there is no way to install SSO multisite.

    According to the documentation

"Server vCenter linked mode instances can be connected to different physical servers of Single Sign-On, but must be connected to a single Single Sign-On logical server. An only Single Sign-On logical server can be one of the following forms. »

With 2 sets of basic mode, they are 2 physical and 2 logical SSO server.

What should have been done is the first vCenter install SSO on the first node of a multisite SSO and when the second gets installed you create a UNIQUE authentication server separate but accede to the first node. Logically, this will be a single instance SSO so now both servers can be managed from a single web client and can be regulated in bound mode.

  • Confused in 64 bit vCenter Installation?

    Hello world

    I have Windows Server 2003 STD x 6 R2 SP2 with SQL Server 2008 STD x 64 SP1, I have successfully created 32-bit DSN using the ODBCad32.exe

but when the installation proceed, he settled in program files (x 86)? where can I get the vCenter installation files pure 64-bit?

    Thank you.

    Kind regards

    > where can I get the vCenter pure 64-bit installation files?

vCenter isn't 64-bit, it supports 64 - bit OS.  Hence the need for the 32-bit DSN.

  • vCenter 6.0 5.5 upgrade installation simple and external PSC supported?

    Hello people,

Everything I have read so far indicates that an upgrade to vCenter 5.5 simple installation on R2 W2K12 6.0 only supports a PSC facility incorporated during the upgrade.

See page 25 of the Upgrade Guide.

    https://pubs.VMware.com/vSphere-60/topic/com.VMware.ICbase/PDF/vSphere-ESXi-vCenter-Server-60-upgrade-guide.PDF

    Notice also mentioned it here:

    http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/search.do?cmd=displayKC & docType = kc & docTypeID = DT_KB_1_1 & externalId = 2109772

Page 8 of the deployment guide mentions the same, embedded installation of MCS during the upgrade of a simple installation.

    https://www.VMware.com/files/PDF/Techpaper/VMware-vCenter-Server6-deployment-guide.PDF

Just to confirm, is there a process taken support to upgrade a simple installation of vCenter 5.5 to 6.0 and the creation of a PSC external?

    Thank you

    romatlo

What is upgrade is, at present, there is no method of support available to achieve this goal.

  • New vSphere/vCenter installation problems

    Hi all

User of long date, but first time poster, so go easy on me.

So I hit a bit of a weird situation here, I am currently working on a vSphere environment completely new to replace our existing (don't ask, long story).

Through the documentation and also various other stuff on the web I came with the plan went forward and installation:

    Here's what I did:

2 separate servers involved, 1 for vcenter server and 1 for the SQL database

Installation of SQL and ready to go with 2 DB created RSA and VCDB, entry with relevant permissions.

After installing TS for authentication UNIQUE I went ahead with the installation of SINGLE sign-on, it went through fine. Service accounts used as required and set password, research service sdk admin@System-Domain responds in a browser, etc. etc.

I then installed the service of inventory, as it went through fine.

Then, I installed the web client of vsphere that even once went well, and I was able to connect with the admin@System-Domain above account and find that the discovery of AD was detected successfully our field. Large.

I then added an ad group to the __Administrators__ SSO group. This ad group contains my admin account, after which I was able to connect to the web client with my account.

Then, I went through installing vCenter server, using the relevant service accounts and connections of databases etc. I used the ad group that I added to the PSO previously for the last step. This completed without error.

I am now to connect on the web client again, with my account, manage vcenter nothing helps...

The vCenter server does not appear in the drop-down list in the Administration or in the vcenter section lists. Also, I can not connect to vcenter using the thick client (c#).

My first thought was that it has not registered with the service of inventory, but I have since reinstalled vCenter Server and installing it told me that there is already a vcenter Server present (I want to delete).

Anyone have any ideas about where to go from here?

    Thank you

    Jon

I thought account and you know I had at the bottom of the issue, it was around the fact that our AD has been organized where users and groups are in different locations, and automatically detected in SSO AD settings were not return users correctly. Strange, I know, but it seems that deletion and recreation detected entries with Group dn channels that everything fell into place and slightly modified basic user.

I thought it was strange to have made this Setup countless times without this kind of question.

  • APEX 5, Installation OID SSO problem

    Hi all

I'm integrating APEX v5.0.1.00.06 v10.1.4.3 OID for UNIQUE authentication. I use v2.0.9 REST Data Services (RDS). I followed the instructions of Doc ID 562807.1. I use the SSO_SDK. Everything that looks like it is set up correctly, but when I access the page APEX I get redirected to a page that says only: "SSO Authentication processing error", nothing else.

I turned the follow-up in the SSO_SDK, but nothing has been inserted in the tracking table.

I am stuck and don't know what to look for or how to debug this installation more far. Any help is appreciated.

Can I use mod_osso instead of the SSO_SDK? If so, how to implement this with APEX 5?

    Concerning

We got the integration of SSO to work as follows:

CREATE THE WWSEC_SSO_ENABLER_PRIVATE FOR SSOSDK PUBLIC SYNONYM. WWSEC_SSO_ENABLER_PRIVATE.

Also, we have removed the name of the configuration of authorization request APEX Application partner.

  • vCenter 5.5 sso works with web client but not for vsphere client

    Hello

Just upgraded my vcenter from 5.0 to 5.5. In 5.0, I could connect to the vSphere client, using my creds of windows session, but now I can't and have to use the local account that is a member of the Administrators group local machine or [email protected]. However, it works very well with the web client.

The Source of the identity seems to be correctly set. Have searched for a solution for four days. I'm at my wits end... :-(

You may need to assign permission to your vCenter, refer to step #6: Back To Basics: vCenter post-configuration 5.5 installation (Web Client). VMware SMB - VMware Articles blog

  • Where the v6 c# client vcenter Installer?

Used to be that you can download the customer good ol' c# of the vcenter web root. Now with 6 VCSA I don't have such an option. I heard it might be on the support of vcenter but doesn't seem to be on the ISO VCSA.

I hope that I don't have to download the windows vcenter ISO just to get the darn espeically client now that VMware has set up download mafia.

Please use the welcome of ESXi host page and follow the link to download from there. It will pass through internet to download but you download the installer of windows VC to spare.

  • Need help with vCenter Installer

Hi guys, I hope someone can point me in the right direction for what is causing my problem. I recently built my own laboratory and I managed to get the installed client and set up a server of 2012 victory THAT VM as my DC, DHCP, DNS etc and everything seems to work OK. I'm stuck, but at the time of installation (on a separate VM Win2012) custom install 'only, sign, Web customer, inventory, and vCenter Server. The first three went through smoothly, but while installing vCenter Server and in the section "related the mode options", I get the following message below to attempt to create a stand-alone instance of vCenter server.

It seems to me that it is correctly attached to the domain and the domain controller is available, but I'm stumped. I read around a response and tried to change of sorts with no luck. Possible can someone point me in the right direction as to how I can fix it.

    Thank you

    Nick.

    Hello

You are connected to the vCenter server using a domain account? If you run CMD and type 'SET L' it lists your controller domain as the logon server?

Do you have the correct DNS (front and back) for all your servers?

Can you ping your DC to your vCenter Server?

Is your domain controller and server showing the same or similar time and time zone?

If possible, try not joining the server vCenter in the field, empty the related computer object in AD, then add it back properly and retry your installation.

Some ideas to try if you don't have it already?

    Kind regards

    Hello

I have a script for silent installation that installs and configures a basic installation of 12 c SOA. I founded some of the scripts on an example of middlewaresnippets.com.

    In short, the scripts are;

    • Install Oracle DB SE2
    • Install Oracle JDK 8u60
    • Install the Infrastructure FMW 12.1.3.0.0 (include PS5)
    • Install the BPM (including SOA)
    • Run the RCU
    • Creates areas etc.

When you are finished, the nodemanager, adminserver, and soa server can be started. There are only a few error messages in the AdminServer.out that are bugging me.

Most of the other errors seems to be associated with em, specifically the em.oracle.home. When to check the AdminServer.out at the start of the AdminServer environment variable seems also not to be defined.

    The installer is basically;

    • read the weblogic (wls.jar) model, set some basic as etc domain name options and write the field.
    • read the field and add the model bpm (oracle.bpm_template_12.1.3.jar)
    • Set up the domain
      • setOption ('AppDir', domain_app_home);
      • create a machine
      • create a cluster of soa and add the soa server to the cluster

When validating deployments in the WLC the em.ear aims the AdminServer, but is failing. Targets of the MA has an em, the default (webapp) component and the empty.jar.

For the benefit of third parties, the problem has caused a bad addition to the EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES.

A setUserOverrides.sh in the "/ bin" that contains the following statements.
EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES = ""-Djava .net .preferIPv4Stack = true ' "

    export EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES

    [/ code]

The setUseOverrides.sh is run after the setSOADomainEnv.sh and therefore replaces the settings.

By adding the new EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES it is all ok works again... phew :-)
EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES = "-Djava .net .preferIPv4Stack = true, ${EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES}" "

    Hi Andy,.

As Boloo said, there are some underlying the rules for vCenter 5.1 that did not exist for 5.0, which means that some additional settings are required for an installation script.
