vCloud Director cannot deploy VAPP sysprep to error

I had errors with WinServer 2003 deployment in our test environment, I didn't know that I had missed the sysprep package. Now, I have installed the package of sysprep by KB Article: 1026313 I downloaded the files on the Microsoft site and they etc. extracted then moved in the vCloud linux host. Now I get a new error:

Internal server error
-Cannot start VAPP "vApp_administrator_9."
-Unable to start virtual machines in the pool of resources '0047960730-InternDevvDC '.
-NFC HTTP error. Cannot deploy the package from /opt/vmware/cloud-director/guestcustomization/windows_deployment_package_sysprep.cab to 0728198015-WinServer03R2/windows_deployment_package_sysprep.cab./opt/vmware/cloud-director/guestcustomization/windows_deployment_package_sysprep.cab [Cloud_DS3] (Permission denied)

I had not seen a response on the forums for that so far, if there are please point me in that direction. We are just testing, but I would like to see what the top and work. The extract of the error in the vcloud debug log file is:

Thanks in advance for any help.

vCD creates a non-root user, vcloud, which is what most of the services is running as. There is a small component that runs as root in order to use the privileged TCP ports (80, 443), but everything else is actually happening in the non-preferred process.

So you can have a problem with permissions on the sysprep cab file or the directory it is located in (especially if you have changed your umask default RHEL).

As root:

CD $VCLOUD_HOME

chown-r vcloud:vcloud guestcustomization

chmod 550 guestcustomization

chmod 550 guestcustomization / *.

If you need to rebuild the sysprep files in the future, you can a mode of 770 instead, but the vcloud user doesn't have write access to anything in this directory.

Without restarting the cell is necessary. Just try to customize an another TIME.

  • vCloud connector - cannot copy VAPP vCloud Director to vSphere

    Evening,

    Try to copy a paralytic to vCloud Director on vCenter 5.5 5.6 using vCloud connector 2.7.

    The scenario:

    -vCloud Director fully configured with one Org, an Org vDC and a catalog.

    -The catalog is entirely filled, shared and published.

    -Org and catalog are configured to allow the publication to external organizations;

    -vCenter and vCloud Director have been added to vCloud connector via vSphere Client plug-ins;

    -vCloud plug connector is able to see the entire structures of vSphere and vCD (org records, catalogs, vApps, models, etc.).

    Reproduce the error:

    -Using the vSphere Client, click on the Org vCD;

    -Go to the tab vApps.

    -Select a VAPP off engine;

    -Click on copy.

    -Select Catalog (it is marked as shared and, curiously, unpublished);

    -Select vCenter as the target;

    -Select the clusters, folders, data store, formatting the drive and so on;

    -Power On TIME after deploying (or not, does not matter);

    -Validate (managed);

    -Finishing.

    Task starts and fails in a minute (or less) with the following message:

    "Export OVF has failed. Failure when copying data to the clouds: https://< vcloud_director_fqdn >. Reason: [0e65fbc1-4e04-4924-ae06-c4377dfc97af] there is no catalog in the organization. »

    Looks as vCloud connector, for some reason, is unable to locate the catalog during deployment (although it may be perfectly visible during the Copy Wizard and in his inventory).

    I tried searching for it and can't find anything similar to this error.

    Maybe it s a vCD configuration error, but how would be? I ve already selected all types of option to allow editing of catalogue and sharing, and nothing has changed.

    I published also successfully catalog VCDs to vCloud connector content library, so nothing else makes sense to me.

    Solved.

    Created a new catalog and IS NOT published. Used for the copy. Went well.

  • TC520: HPDM 4.7.3610.23043 - cannot deploy images... error message 1080320

    Hello world

    We have not deployed any image TC520 for a few months.  I tried for a few days now, and we get an error.

    Nothing has changed (as far as I can see) in the past months.

    Deposits are still there and can connect on the TEST page.

    The images are still there... and have not been changed.

    TC520 are the same machines TC520

    The HPDM and the client, the version numbers match...

    I can reboot/update etc customers... just imaging that is a failure

    So, fundamentally, nothing has changed.

    But when I deploy an image, I get

    I suggest that you use 4.7 SP2 or later version. From SP2, we use the PE of the DM repository instead of the local device.

    This should be able to resolve the problem that you are experiencing.

  • Snapshot on vCloud Director

    I did some tests on a system based on POC vCloud VCE, I need to understand in order to meet the demand of my client.

    Vcloud Director cannot directly perform a vm snapshot

    Instant TI possible a VM on vCloud acting at the level of the virtual center without creating problems?

    Or how I can manage for example the process of patching sharepoint, without a snapshot, but the principle of maintaining safety?

    Ah, the old backup cloud scenario... I can only really comment on what's around now, and it's the features that you understand.

    If a customer wondered 'what available to vSphere use', then must reset expectations for now on the functioning of the Cloud deployment.

    It is not very "cloud as" If you were to pop in the vCenter to a PvDC for work.

    Maybe someone else will see this post and carillon.

  • Cannot access vCloud Director VM console

    Hello

    We´re in the face of a very strange problem when you try to access a console virtual machine via the vCloud Director 5.6 Web Portal.

    Let me describe the environment:

    1 - 2 vCloud Director cells;

    2. load balancer 1;

    3 - 1 VIP for the proxy console; 1 VIP for the web portal;

    4 - certificate of CA-signed 1 with wildcard characters (*. < domain >) instead of certificates 2 ordinary host (http. < domain > and consoleproxy. < domain >).

    5 - the following procedure was used to create the keystore of Java and to be able to import the certificate even twice (each time with a different alias):

    OpenSSL pkcs12 - in /keystore/ < company > .pfx-out /keystore/ < company > .pem

    OpenSSL pkcs12-export - in /keystore/ < company > .pem-inkey /keystore/ < company > .key-out _http.p12 /keystore/ < company > - name "http".

    OpenSSL pkcs12-export - in /keystore/ < company > .pem-inkey /keystore/ < company > .key-out _console.p12 /keystore/ < company > - name 'consoleproxy '.

    keytool - v - importkeystore - srckeystore /keystore/ < company > _console.p12 - srcstoretype PKCS12 - destkeystore /keystore/ < company > .ks - deststoretype JCEKS

    keytool - v - importkeystore - srckeystore /keystore/ < company > _http.p12 - srcstoretype PKCS12 - destkeystore /keystore/ < company > .ks - deststoretype JCEKS

    6 race "keytool-list - keystore /keystore/ < company > .ks - stores JCEKS" shows two aliases in the keystore.

    7 - vCD installer not to complaint about it.

    8 - certificate is loaded correctly when accessing the web portal

    Now the question:

    1 - the gate opens as it should;

    2. each type of action is possible and works very well;

    3. when we open a VM console for the first time, it opens normally;

    4. If we close it and try to reopen, or if we try to open a second console, it won´t open;

    5 - according to the browser:

    5.1 - console remains black. State begins to 'connection '. Changes to "Offline" after a short time;

    5.2 - console remains empty. Status hangs on "Loading"; He sometimes goes to "disconnected";

    6. If restart us the two cells, it begins around (able to open the first console, cannot open the rest);

    7. same behavior if the access using the VIP (with load balancing) or directly (using the internal IP address of cells).

    I ve seen some issues with what seemed like the same problem but no conclusive answer.

    Any help on this would be appreciated.

    Thank you very much.

    The fixed.

    1 - upgrade of vCD 5.6.3 to 5.6.4.

    2 - something with virtual machines, we had deployed for testing. We have erased their and the new have no behavior.

  • Error "operations is not supported on the object." when importing .ovf in the vCloud Director 5.5 machine

    I am trying to import a virtual machine (composed of three .mf, hard, .ovf files), when I try to download the VM, it gets downloaded 100% in the catalogs, but gives an error "Cannot create" as condition to the end and when I check the error in detail, it gives me that "operations is not supported on the object.". Checked the Virtaul Center, I get the same error that 'operations is not supported on the object."in the taskbar. Google it a lot but could not find a relevant solution.

    Just for the record I have DRS activated in full auto mode and only in the aggressive State.

    Can someone help me what I can do to remedy the problem.

    There are two parts to the upload.

    5.5 download dialog box represents the progression to the record of transfer vCloud Director of the FVO.  The download method is via the integration of Client plug-in (which uses the OVF tool).

    If the pop-up window can 100% success, I think that the element of the catalogue shows 50% and tries to download files to vCenter/ESXi as an import job.  If the import job fails, then you need to investigate the newspapers of vCenter/ESXi side for more details.

  • Cannot create the vCloud Director VDC

    Hi all

    Need help with my proof of concept of vCloud implementation Director. running on 5.1 vCloud Director unit. Just to give you an idea, I followed the VMware vCloud Director 5.1 Assessment Guide that we find on the VMware Web site.

    Note: My setup does not contane VXLAN although we have the network VLAN supported to improve network performance.  Of the vExpert mentioned to create a dummy VXLAN right in the vCloud Director and I'm not sure how to do this in vCloud Director console. (I noticed a default VXLAN is already created, I understand vCloud 5.1 has this feature is enabled by default)

    Installation succeeded in creating the Org VDC failed with error 'cannot create the VDC' found this disabling and re activation will release the Red 'X' I think it's false positive because it shows us that everything is perfect even if we get an error message in the logs ' status: error "and with" details: Internal Server Error' find the home images below.

    " In any case when it comes to download media after having created the catalogue for Org VDC we get the error message cannot complete the operation because the current organization VDC"Demo-Org-VDC"is disabled or is not ready '.

    I also noticed that we get an error message on vcenter Server vcloud (cell) cannot create the folder name already exists check the last my vcenter Server error message.

    also attached the logs in the images below.

    I found two post, which there is not yet of resolution and the other said its solved but does not have the fix.

    Any help to point me in the right direction will be appreciated.

    I will be happy to provide you with newspapers if necessary.

    Thank you

    Ibrahim

    I was not talking about data warehouses.  I refer to the view in the vSphere Client.

    Open the vSphere Client... and go to the computers view models and virtual (c# = Home button at the top, then models and virtual computers)

    In this perspective, there is a number of record Blue icons. Make sure that none have the same name as you describe.

    This is directly related to the error message in the client image vSphere that you took in the original post "cannot create folder. "PNG"

    vCloud produces an error because of something that happens in vCenter.

  • in error place vCloud Director TNS:listener is not currently of service requested in connect

    I thought I would start my own thread on this...

    I have trashed my original oracle installation - and did it again. But have the same problem...

    I installed oracle just accept all the default values. So, things like the name of the oracle is orcl and so on...

    I also followed to the letter the instructions in the installation and here - guide http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1025768 which are substantially the same.

    Here's what I entered the configuration of configuration vCloud Director:

    Enter the host (or IP address) to the database: orcl10g.corp.com

    Enter the port of database :

    Using the default "1521" for the port.

    Enter the name of the service of database :

    Using the default "orcl" database service name.

    Enter the database user name: vclouduser

    Enter the database password:

    Connection to the database: jdbc:oracle:thin:@orcl10g.corp.com:1521/orcl

    And that's what pays my log file...

  • What is the smallest model of VAPP available that can be used with vCloud Director?

    Hi all

    I was on the hunt to find the smallest operating system which can be used for demonstration purposes.

    I want to be able to quickly create vApps so a small footprint would be ideal.

    What guys do you use?

    I found this customization for operating system support invited into vCloud Director 5.5 (2058524) | VMware KB

    I always look for a 'micro' distribution that supports customization of comments.

    What is the smallest available?

  • Nested VApps in vcloud Director

    Is it possible to create the vapps nested within vcloud Director?

    Nesting vapps won't happen in vCD.  They will be parallel vApps.  Is not stop you from writing a tool/site Web automation, which would show you have there.

    vRA will address finally that, but they do not use vApps.  all virtual machines just became machines to manage without the concept of being part of a paralytic.  It will be that you have a plan of several computers that uses two other plans several computers (a DB level on the application layer).
