  • VCO 6.0.1 starts not more (license)

    Hello

    a few days of my vrealize Orchestrator license has expired (I think it was just 60 days eval). I thought that he gets the vcenter license information - but ok.

    Now my problem: I am using the Windows Version of the device and I can not start the service more. The papers say that the license is expired.
    In the configuration I can not access the license tab is grayed out.

    I googled around a while and has found a 'solution' where someone says "just make a backup and reinstall." I'm at a point where I would say ' Ok, let's do this. " But in the case where I really need the workflow that I designed-I need to make a backup of the database (embedded).

    And that's what I'm stuck at the moment. Maybe one of you has an alternative solution how to get the system up and running again to enter the key to license somewhere.

    Found the solution:

    http://virtual-stones.stonemountains.nl/2015/09/vrealize-Orchestrator-VRO-licensing.html?m=1

    @vmware can you fix this please!

  • O11n package Plugin Maven-package: import-package causes error on VCO (ClassNotFoundException)

    When you try to import a package using the maven plugin, I now see a ClassNotFoundException thrown of vCO, which returns a 500 Server error.  I also tried the vco-cli-java - 6.0.2.jar just to see if I could export a package through the cli and which are perfectly worked.  Not sure if something changed in the API that was not updated to 6.0.2 or if I'm doing something wrong.  I tried 1.7.0_67 and 1.8.0_45 java

    Any thoughts are appreciated.

    Thank you

    I was on the same track here and after the explosion the war vco.war, adding in the slf4j-simple - file 1.6.6.jar in the directory WEB-INF/lib and re-Jouffroy, and restart the tomcat server, things work.  This looks like a BUG in the version 6.0.2 of vco, where they forgot to add in the file slf4j-simple - 1.6.6.jar.

  • Failed to start the computer over HTTP: Error 1000

    I'm testing an upgrade from version 2.9 to 2.10 so I can upgrade our 6.0u2 ESXi hosts to solve the problem of multiple appstacks slow attachment.  However, I get this error on half of my offices.  I tried both 2012R2 and for the administration server 2008R2.  It is installed with local SQL.  Desktop computers are Windows 7, floating pool linked clone.  Looks like that in the beginning it shows a "HttpInitializeRequest: status response 200 Manager (2 bytes) ': OK ' but try again"computer startup on HTTP failed: Error 1000 ".  Once virtualization fails is disabled and no appstacks cling.

    I have logs from two desktop computers, a successful failure:

    Just curious, it's someone else is seeing this with 2.10 and if you have, how solve you this problem?

    If you are using some kind of power management on the VDI? It seems as if the machine is unable to reach the HTTP Appvolumes service for any reason any newspaper which shows success connects withion a fraction of a second if the server doesn't seem to be to busy.

    Maybe you try to join an appstack that has some sort of firewall inside rule?

  • How to call a workflow vCO by script?

    Hi, experts

    I would call a workflow via a shell script or a script powershell vCO? could you have an example of reference? Thank you!

    You can do this by using vCO Rest API that you can call using curvature inside a shell script commands.

    Post on the way to trigger workflow using REST. http://www.vcoteam.info/articles/learn-VCO/268-how-to-use-the-rest-API-to-start-a-workflow.html

    Official documentation.  VMware vSphere 5.1

    Otherwise, you can use vCO CLI to trigger workflow vCO.

  • Virtual Collection ISE failure in PI 2.2

    We use a virtual ISE, which I have now added to the first.

    First thing: device type is set to "no supported device Cisco" - but first 2.2 supports ISE 1.2.x is not it.

    Anyway... CLI and GUI credentials are set correctly, but after syncing, it said "The partial Collection - CLI Timeout failure"

    Even after setting the time-out waiting SSHv2 so 120secs it happened again.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you very much

    Preferred infrastructure integrates with an ISE server as a data source. You add through the Administration on the IP page.

    It is not really manage an ISE server except in the most basic sense (up/down) as he would any generic server. It will not collect or modify the configurations of EHT via SSH or it queries via SNMP, as it would for a Cisco switch, router, or WLC.

    Hello

    During the ISE 3395 installation I get the error couldn't start DB!

    Database is not available 240 seconds.this withintimeout could be reason of incorrect network configuration or lack of resources on the appliance or virtual machine, please fix the problem and run the folloing CLI for re - starting the database

    "reset - config application ise"

    Thank you

    Sachin

    When I ISE devices staged for my projects, with that I have a virtual machine with a dns zone for a client I work, where I can get the database started, installed certificates. as well as steps 3, 6, and 7. Instead of using AD to build policies, I use internal groups and replace them with ad groups when devices are installed on the client's site.

  • Build packages of vCO with the Plugin o11n-package

    I began using the maven-011n-package-plugin, found in the Maven Repo to edge of the vCO device or such that got by the vCO Client of-> package-> Expand to folder feature.  First of all, it is a very useful tool, however, the docs are very minimal.  And I have two questions

    (1) is REQUIRED when I build a package (from the native XML) I digitally sign it?

    (2) is there a version of the functionality built into this Maven plugin library?  Where can I get the source?  I was wondering if I can do this without involving the maven; We use gradle.

    I think that the signature is required and package build fails if you don't specify a password and the location of the keystore.

    As for your second question - there is no library, but there is a command line tool that package exim. It can be found in the Maven repo, / com/vmware/o11n/tool/vco-cli-Java /.

    Here is the list of commands it supports + examples.

    On Maven vs Gradle - currently, our tooling is concentrated around Maven. I'll see if we can also provide a Gradle plugin.

    -DserverUrl=username:password@myserver:8281 java-jar com.vmware.test.TestPackage PackageToolCli.jar

    Import com.vmware.test.TestPackage.package file package vCO server.

    -DserverUrl=username:password@myserver:8281 java-jar PackageToolCli.jar fi com.vmware.test.TestImpex.package

    (Note: the next two commands require a development certificate in order to accomplish)

    Build the .package file in directory structure.

    Java-DserverUrl=username:password@myserver:8281-DkeystoreFileLocation=/path/to/my_cerificate.vmokeystore

    -DkeystorePassword = mypassword-jar PackageToolCli.jar fd com.vmware.test.TestPackage

    Import the directory structure com.vmware.test.TestPackage package to the server vCO.

    Java-DserverUrl=username:password@myserver:8281-DkeystoreFileLocation=/path/to/my_cerificate.vmokeystore

    -DkeystorePassword = mypassword-jar PackageToolCli.jar di com.vmware.test.TestPackage

    The last two commands is also in charge of the allowedMask, the exportVersionHistory and includes / excludes java settings, which offer more control to content and access attributes of the package.

    -DallowedMask = vf

    Creates a package that cannot be edited.

    -DexportVersionHistory = true

    Keeps a history of local versions of objects vCO developed between exports and imports.

    -Dincludes = "" * / Test Package/**/*.element_info.xml;**/Test Samples/**/*.element_info.xml;**/testPackage/**/*.element_info.xml ""

    Includes only the objects that have '. '. element_info.xml"descriptor (which is specific for parcels exported as trees of directories), the folders in the library of tests and samples (for workflows) or testPackage (for actions).

  • Develop actions of vCO a shell?

    I am very new to vCO but have done a lot of automation using powershell. One thing miss me - a lot - is the possibility to play with the objects and code in an interactive shell.

    On the other hand, test what an object looks like inside the vCO Editor is much more difficult, since you have to write at least rudimentary flow of your action and appeal to this subject for a workflow, before reaching even to run your code. Then, you add tons of System.log statements if you do not know the attributes and methods in an object, etc.

    But of course, there are several javascript shells out there and maybe it would be too difficult to put in place an environment similar to a workflow of vCO, you can call on the same javascript for example modules?

    Basically a way less time consuming to develop and test the code for a non-javascript programmer would be very useful.

  • API - POST - REST VCO connection pool closing

    Hello

    I'm working on an automation scenario where I need a VCO A workflow to start another workflow VCO B using the VCO REST Plugin (1.0.2) on VCO 5.1.1.

    I did it with success while creating a multitude of REST and surgery REMAINS by using the appropriate workflow. However, my approach is a lot of static and I need to create REST operations on the fly. I have had a look at workflows Plugin and try to do the same thing in my workflow.

    However I am stuck with the error 'Connection Pool close' when you try to run the POST request.

    My approach is to store the host REMAINS as a static attribute with VCO configuration object and retrieve it from there. I can run GET operations without any problem with the owner, i.e.

    restRequest = restHost.createRequest (restType, restUrl, restContent);

    restResponse = restRequest.execute ();

    My problem is actually running a POST operation. I prepared the content in XML format, which is

    " <-xmlns = execution context" http://www.VMware.com/VCO "> "
    < Parameters >

    < name parameter = "param1" type = "string" >

    < string > 1 < / string >

    < / parameter >

    < name parameter = "param2" type = "string" >

    < string > value2 < / string >

    < / parameter >

    < / Parameter >

    < / execution context >

    and use the content type "application/xml". Earlier in my code, I run a query GET to retrieve my ID for workflow target to create a Url like this:

    flow of work/98c3b8ee-9569-4940-acc1-b8fbc2e64649 / executions.

    This is code that I use to make the POST while creating an operation of REST when needed and delete it later.

    var restOperation = new RESTOperation (System.nextUUID ());

    restOperation.method = restType;

    restOperation.urlTemplate = restUrl;

    restOperation.defaultContentType = restContentType;

    restHost.addOperation (restOperation);

    RESTHostManager.updateHost (restHost);

    inputParameters var = [];

    var restRequest = restOperation.createRequest (inputParameters, restContent);

    restRequest.contentType = restContentType;

    var restResponse = restRequest.execute ();

    restHost.removeOperation (restOperation.id);

    RESTHostManager.updateHost (restHost);

    My code does not work when calling for the lifting of restRequest.execute: ' InternalError: connection pool arrested "." If anyone else has tried a similar scenario or has any idea what I may be missing?

    Thank you

    Bernd

    Thanks chap - update the objects did the trick.

    In my case, that initially caused the problem travel of COULD happen. Of course store the restHost object in the configuration of VCO leads to an out-of-date version at run time. I'm now store the ID of restHost only. Then, copy the following code works:

    var restHostId is System.getModule("my.library").myGetConfigAttr ("Folder", "VCO", "restHostId");.

    var restHost = RESTHostManager.getHost (restHostId);

    If (restType == 'GET') {}
    try {}
    restRequest = restHost.createRequest (restType, restUrl, restContent);
    restResponse = restRequest.execute ();
    }
    catch (exp) {throw ("request REST to run: cannot run '" + restType + "' '" + restUrl + "' request-reason = '" + exp + "'") ;}}
    }
    else {}
    try {}
    var restOperation = new RESTOperation (System.nextUUID ());
    restOperation.method = restType;
    restOperation.urlTemplate = restUrl;
    restOperation.defaultContentType = restContentType;

    restHost.addOperation (restOperation);
    RESTHostManager.updateHost (restHost);

    restHost = RESTHostManager.getHost (restHost.id);
    restOperation = restHost.getOperation (restOperation.id);

    inputParameters var = [];
    var restRequest = restOperation.createRequest (inputParameters, restContent);
    restRequest.contentType = restContentType;

    var restResponse = restRequest.execute ();

    restHost.removeOperation (restOperation.id);
    RESTHostManager.updateHost (restHost);
    }
    catch (exp) {throw ("request REST to run: cannot run '" + restType + "' '" + restUrl + "' request-reason = '" + exp + "'") ;}}
    }

  • VMware vCenter Orchestrator Server service cannot be started

    After doing a clean install on the build version 5.1.1 2942, the VCO service will not start. All points configurations are green, VC to the top and running, the service account used for the service of a member of the local administrators. The event in the system log id reported as 7024, below error text:

    VMware vCenter Orchestrator Server service stopped with the error service particular incorrect function...

    If anyone has an idea, please advise. Thank you.

    Thanks for the tip. I was able to start the service by stopping the Foglight Quest agent running on the box first, then by restarting VCO. The article stresses that increase the RAM would help, however the virtual machine has been set to 10 GB, with abundance available for the JAVA virtual machine, but I always saw the issues mentioned in the wrapper.log file.
