  I started the process of Trend Micro Deep Security 9 update to Service Pack 1, but ran into a problem during this process.

  Update: A cold-restart of the device seems to have solved the problem. The main NETWORK card was stuck somehow and does not have a normal reboot.

• FW 7.0.2 strange traffic after upgrade

  A week ago, we have improved our firmware to 6.0.4-online-online 7.0.2 6.0.8 x 86 and x 64. We have a group of 2 PS4000 and 2 PS6100 Equallogics.

  After the upgrade, we see some unusual traffic on our storage network. Comparing the normal traffic load, we see that the incoming traffic went from 2 Mbps to outgoing 140Mbit is always the same. The weird part is that it is only between 0:00 and 12:00 @night. During the day the traffic is back to normal. The traffic is generated on all EQL.

  This storage group is part of a cluster Vmware of several hosts and Vcenter. Backups are active between 2-4 am in the morning so we can exclude. 2 Equallogics are production and the other 2 are in synchronized mode rep. We checked that the controllers of same in each equallogic comes after the FW update and synchronization rep EQL is always syncalternate.

  These figures are not pulling down of our switches, but I can't explain as an engineer storage. Does anyone have some thoughts about this?

  

  PS4000 have less bandwidth than the 6100 iSCSI.  Are the same group? (Group of 4 members). Your best tool to see what are "group resources" is also SAN HQ. Make sure you run the latest version of SAN AC in order to support the 7 serial code.  Run the performance report.

  New SAN HQ does not host, it is the Group's resources, you may be able to deduce things about your host but it is an application that is questioning of the group resource information.  Also when you restarted your modules change the role that there is only 1 active module on each Member.

  You look at what modules was active before you did the updates on each Member. (This can be done by looking at your member event logs. (there is a code specific x.x.x)

  What you are looking for, the change has been associated with a module for different steps in the active role. Who can help isolate a NIC, the port SW, the cable or the same configuration problem on the host (OS MPIO).

  Let me explain the whole thing in its entirety.

  You have a public IP address or the other site and you form a GRE tunnel to route your IPs private above the GRE tunnel. This traffic includes voice and data. Then create your IPSec policy only traffic to be corresponding encryped (u know have explicitly deny the telephone traffic) and apply the crypto map on the tunnel. Who should install the IPSec VPN for you. This is the best medium for what is as iam concerned (I did in one case as well).

  Instead of carrying all the traffic thorugh one IPSec VPN and data on a GRE traffic, according to me, you can send voice traffic on free WILL and encrypt traffic IPSec over GRE.

  There is no official reason - but my reason is because of my experience. Years as a system administrator, put computers in Windows for Workgroups, Windows NT level would still be some issues. The same model machine with clean installs of the software even played very well. After some tests, I was convinced that upgrades on the spot can cause problems. I don't even do on-site on OS X upgrades - they have issues like Windows.

  I noticed the same behavior with improvements in phone (Android, Apple, WinMo) - some applications does not work, the battery life is poor, etc. An upgrade to the Atrix HD and I was missing the options menu for SmartActions - until I did a reset, certain features of this application has been completely absent - it was an integrated application of motorcycle, and nothing else has worked.

  If you want only some technical reasons for why this happens - there may be several:

  • can install applications with different parameters depending on the operating system - unless you uninstall and reinstall applications after the upgrade, none will have the settings that correspond to the BONE

• Windows Update - restored older restore point but updates of today are still there.

  a. create a vlan 10 (data) and vlan 20 (voice). Set the switchport where you have an IP phone that is attached to the Trunk mode (management of Vlan-> settings of the Interface). Administrative PVID of the port should be 10. Go to the management of VLAN-> a Port VLAN membership, select the switchport and click Join VLANS. In the right column, you should have '10UP' (VLAN 10 Untagged, PVID: 10). In the left column select 20, labelling must be tagged, click the right arrow button to add 20 VLAN Tag to the port and click on apply.

  These settings will make switchport transfer VLAN10 traffic (data) as non-identified and VLAN20 traffic as added to the phone the voice. In each case, your phone, if it has a PC in the Appendix must be configured for voice traffic with the tag VLAN20 tag and move unidentified to the PC data traffic.   We have 2 x 10 Gbit NIC. One for the traffic of the virtual machine and the other for vMotion, and they're tipping (standby) to eachother.

  We are concerned that in the case of a NIC failover that vMotion traffic will affect the VM traffic too. What is the best practice to avoid that?

  We considered on vMotion portgroup vDS assigning up to max 7Gbit traffic shaping traffic. This means that we will lose 3 Gbps when there is no failover... Advice or better ideas?

  DvSwitch architecture is such that the data plan resides on individual ESX / I host, and all traffic is sent and received through the hosts data plan. The control plan is responsible for managing configuration changes, and resides on the vCenter server.

  Therefore, I don't think the upgrade will have an impact on existing virtual machines, but you will not be able to make changes to the same as existing exchanges when the vCenter is out of service.

  A few points on a side note,

  --> Make sure to spend at least once by the vSphere upgrade guide.

  --> Ensure the SSL certificates, vpxd.cfg and vCenter Database backup

  --> Please check the ESX / I version that you use on the matrix of VMware interoperaibility. VMware ESX/ESXi 4.1 (without U1 or U2) is not compatible with the 5.0 vCenter and can cause the CMTF:
