Parece ser UN bug. This can be as actualizando el frimware h....
That type of Hw tienes? Contacted con el soporte veem o del provider hw... para constratar las versiones compatible frimware.

I installed and did experiments with free Veeam Monitor to keep an eye on my ESX 3.5 server. He has been telling me that ESX memory usage is greater than 75%. Is there a threshold where I should add more RAM, or 75% an acceptable threshold?
You know better your workload. If there is no unpredictable spikes and you won't have to add a large number of virtual machines in the near future, then all is ok.
Check the swap and balloning for virtual machines. There is not enough memory when Ball > 0, but in some cases, it is always acceptable. It depends on the workload.

Monitoring selected VM, ESX, cluster hosts
Hello
I check if it is possible to select the specified ESX host or Virtual Machines to monitor instead of pulling all the VMS and hosts in Foglight? Thank you.
Kind regards
Jamie.
You can via a user name, but we do not support that. The problem lies in the case you have a virtual machine, and then you forget about the potential problems with the host. If you have only a few hosts, it could miss part of a cluster or something else using the storage... There are many cases where not having not any data could cause problems, so we don't support all a vCenter.

Hello
I have recently updated our ESX to vSphere 5.1. After the upgrade, I receive alarm 'Memory of the host State' on some hosts even if there is no virtual machine running on them. Clear the alarm, but he comes back again.
I checked on the ILO and the OA for all related memory errors or problems, but there is nothing in there. Everything is green.
No one knows what is the cause.
Thank you
Nick
in any case, this has been fixed after the connection of the host...

HowTo generate by ESX report alarms?
Hi all
I use vFoglight v6.1 pro to monitor my VMware Lab Manager environment.
It is needless to mention that I get tons of alerts several types.
As part of my effort to reduce the amount of alerts vFoglight, I disabled a lot of alerts under Administration--> rules Admin &--> manage rules.
I left only referring to my ESX memory alerts | swap | CPU which gives me more visibility of the State of my environment.
The thing is I'm having a problem generating a statistical report that will give me specific information on how alertsI have on each of my ESX hosts by type.
I need an easy way to show more of memory or cpu required and prove the increase of resources actually solved the problem.
This must be done through vfoglight level reporting.
I'll be happy to get assistance to each and every one of you, if you know the inner workings of the vfoglights.
Thank you very much
Nissim.
Here are a few steps you can try:
Navigate to the home alarms
In the upper right corner of the dashboard alarms, set the time interval, you are interested. For example "7 d" for 7 days.
To the right of the table of alarms in half the dashboard lower alarms, click on "filter alarm.
In the field "Origin" on the popup filter, type in "VMW ESX" (this will filter the alarms for ESX most of alarms)
The results of all ESX alarms for the last 7 days will be displayed, use the error Instances see the breakdown of the alarms tab how by host, but also the history of the health of these hosts in the selected time interval
Use the Customizer button to export the alarms to Excel, and select export (it's the last option when you click the customizer, screenshot see attached)

Create alarm "hardware monitoring" by the script?
Hello:
I wonder how I can create the hardware by script monitoring alarm?
For example, I want to write a script that will create the alarm similar to the default alarm "State of other objects of host hardware.
Follow large docs LucD Web site (http://www.lucd.info/2009/11/27/alarm-expressions-part-2-event-alarms/), I wrote the following code:
$alarm. Name = "status of other objects of host hardware.
$alarm. Description = "monitor other objects of host hardware."
$alarm. Enabled = $TRUE
$expr1 = new-Object VMware.Vim.EventAlarmExpression
$expr1. EventType = "com.vmware.vc.cim.CIMGroupHealthStateChanged."
$expr1. ObjectType = "HostSystem.
$expr1. Status = 'green '.
$expr2 = new-Object VMware.Vim.EventAlarmExpression
$expr2. EventType = "EnteringMaintenanceModeEvent."
$expr2. ObjectType = "HostSystem.
$expr2. Status = "yellow".
$expr3 = new-Object VMware.Vim.EventAlarmExpression
$expr3. EventType = "EnteringMaintenanceModeEvent."
$expr3. ObjectType = "HostSystem.
$expr3. Status = "red".
$alarm.expression = new-Object VMware.Vim.OrAlarmExpression
$alarm.expression.expression += $expr1
$alarm.expression.expression += $expr2
$alarm.expression.expression += $expr3
$alarmMgr.CreateAlarm($entity.) MoRef, $alarm)
But now I have problem to add arguments, operator, and value to all three different events (Advanced) Condition?
Also, I know that I have to restart VC after creating this alarm, but it is fine with me (the same 'problem' I had added when storage network/monitoring of alarms by script).
I would really appreciate the help.
Thank you very much!
Okay, I think I got it.
You must use the property of comparisons to set conditions.
Try this
$entity = (Get-VMHost
).Extensiondata $alarm = New-Object VMware.Vim.AlarmSpec $alarmMgr = Get-View AlarmManager $alarm.Name = "Status of other host hardware objects" $alarm.Description = "monitor other host hardware objects" $alarm.Enabled = $TRUE $expr1 = New-Object VMware.Vim.EventAlarmExpression $expr1.EventType = "EventEx" $expr1.EventTypeId = "com.vmware.vc.cim.CIMGroupHealthStateChanged" $expr1.ObjectType = "HostSystem" $expr1.Status = "green" $condition11 = New-Object VMware.Vim.EventAlarmExpressionComparison $condition11.attributeName = "group" $condition11.operator = "equals" $condition11.value = "Other" $condition12 = New-Object VMware.Vim.EventAlarmExpressionComparison $condition12.attributeName = "newState" $condition12.operator = "equals" $condition12.value = "green" $expr1.Comparisons += $condition11 $expr1.Comparisons += $condition12 $expr2 = New-Object VMware.Vim.EventAlarmExpression $expr2.EventType = "EventEx" $expr2.EventTypeId = "com.vmware.vc.cim.CIMGroupHealthStateChanged" $expr2.ObjectType = "HostSystem" $expr2.Status = "yellow" $expr2.Comparisons += $condition11 $condition22 = New-Object VMware.Vim.EventAlarmExpressionComparison $condition22.attributeName = "newState" $condition22.operator = "equals" $condition22.value = "yellow" $expr2.Comparisons += $condition22 $expr3 = New-Object VMware.Vim.EventAlarmExpression $expr3.EventType = "EventEx" $expr3.EventTypeId = "com.vmware.vc.cim.CIMGroupHealthStateChanged" $expr3.ObjectType = "HostSystem" $expr3.Status = "red" $expr3.Comparisons += $condition11 $condition32 = New-Object VMware.Vim.EventAlarmExpressionComparison $condition32.attributeName = "newState" $condition32.operator = "equals" $condition32.value = "red" $expr3.Comparisons += $condition32 $alarm.expression = New-Object VMware.Vim.OrAlarmExpression $alarm.expression.expression += $expr1 $alarm.expression.expression += $expr2 $alarm.expression.expression += $expr3 $action = New-Object VMware.Vim.AlarmAction $action = New-Object VMware.Vim.AlarmTriggeringAction $action.action = New-Object VMware.Vim.SendEmailAction $action.action.toList = "[email protected];" $action.action.ccList = "" $action.action.subject = "" $action.action.body = "" $action.green2yellow = $false $action.yellow2red = $false $action.red2yellow = $false $action.yellow2green = $false $spec = New-Object VMware.Vim.AlarmTriggeringActionTransitionSpec $spec.startState = "yellow" $spec.finalState = "red" $spec.repeats = $false $action.transitionSpecs = $spec $alarm.action = New-Object VMware.Vim.GroupAlarmAction $alarm.action.action += $action $setting = New-Object VMware.Vim.AlarmSetting $setting.toleranceRange = 0 $setting.reportingFrequency = 0 $alarm.setting = $setting $alarmMgr.CreateAlarm($entity.MoRef, $alarm) Note that I reused the $condition11 into three expressions since it does not change.

I would like to monitor all my ESXi hosts and export weekly reports, trigger alarms on certain conditions etc.
I'm looking for free or low cost solutions. Try Veeam monitor free of charge, but it is somewhat limited. Are there any other good free alternatives?
4.1, including remote support mode, there are scripts that track?
Basically, I want to see things like the use of the HARD disk on data stores, CPU, RAM, network traffic and maybe even the physical health of the host machine.
Looking for all the different options. Will pay for a solution if it is justified.
William Lam has covered you. He wrote an excellent script that you can run from an admin account with administrative privileges on your vCenter server or it can be run from the free vMA (Assistant vshpere) VAPP. I have been using this script for a while now, and you can tweak it for as little or as much as you want to know about your environment. It's free so it requires a little effort on part of the administrator, but it is definitely worth it.

Historical performance of ESX data
Hi guys,.
Of in Vmware vCenter server, I produce a weekly report of the perfmance. Call it the default report generated by the highlighting of the cluster, then clicking on the performance tab, and then change the scope from daily to weekly.
We have recently disconnected two hosts critical vCenter for security reasons. Now, we connect to them directly by using the host name. The performance tab when connected directly does not appear to be the weekly report.
My question is, if these ESX hosts are not considered the vcenter then is it possible to display the value of a week of the performance data? Stand alone hosts even keep statistics of performance beyond 24 hours?
Thank you.
> Does that mean that an ESX host only stores a maximum of 24 hours of performance information?
No, of course. vCenter stores data on the performance for a while, but only for the short period of time, detailed information and the information sheets aggregated after expiry of the specified period. But vCenter is a Management server, this is the main purpose is to manage and provide basic functions of monitoring real-time performance.
For example, why I love Veeam Monitor - it can aggregate Datastore IOPS load from multiple clustered virtual machines, while vCenter can show the burden of the current host only.

Hi all
I wonder if it is possible to send an email whenever someone logs on the ESX.
Is this possible?
Thank you
Olivier
You need create a cron job to do this or rely on third-party tools such as veeam monitor... There is no automates the procedure or script for this.
However manually trace connections and create a cron for connections, the below KB will help you...

Can what tools I use to monitor my ESXi?
Thank you
Max
For a single ESX/ESXi, you can use the performance monitor tab.
Or try turn on SNMP and see if you can catch this datas of a monitoring tool.
Or you can use 3rd party programs such as Veeam Monitor or Vizioncore vFoghlight.

Problems with fractional alarm levels
Hello
We use LV8.6 with module DSC under XP Pro.
I am building an application that needs to configure/monitor alarms on deployed locally variable shared double digital.
I don't seem to be able to define levels of fractional alarm through in Distributed System Manager or Project Explorer. For example, I'm trying to set the alarm HI_HI to 1.50 level. What I see, is that the values change when I get it, but it gets rounded up to the nearest whole number if I open properties for this variable shared once more (or property node allows you to read).
If I use the node property to set the levels I am able to get fractional values. There is a problem with automatic receipt of the alarm in this case, although (the alarm do not auto-reconnu when the value of the variable returned to non-alarme interval).
I would appreciate comments on the issues that I am experiencing.
Thank you in advance!
Far below the level of the alarm you have tried going? In LabVIEW 2009 at least, there is a dead zone which can be defined for each alarm. By default, the dead zone is 1, which means that you must pass at least one point below the alarm so that it auto-reconnaître. Herea good help file that explains exactly how it works. In short, if you want to auto-reconnaître when the value is less exactly the alarm level, then you have a dead zone of 0. I hope this helps.

How to turn off alarm full screen completely, not only the timeout?
I changed 'full-screen - api .warning p:System.NET.HttpWebRequest.Timeout' '0' in ' subject: config. He disabled the message but I have another monitor above my main monitor and when I move my mouse to the video to full screen to the other monitor alarm full screen appears again. It's really disruptive because it stays there forever unless I put my mouse over the video. Could you add a setting to completely disable this alert?
@Happy112 so the Addon does not work. It does exactly what I've done for Firefox settings.
@jscher2000 I tried to do everthing you did, but rather than see this short blip that you were talking about, the full alert screen comes up. In addition, I tried to use the code you gave me with the Stylish extension (I had already installed) but it didn't work either (I probably made mistakes even though, as I don't really know how to use it: D)
BUT I found a solution to my problem:
I just had to define "full-screen - api .warning .delay" to any integer negative as - 1 instead of 0. That did the trick.
in any case, thanks to all who tried to help me!
