Verison SGD

Hello

I try to check my verison SGD and all my verisons agent on each host.
My GRID control has my OEM10G verison as 10.1.0.4.

My agent in SGD bin >. / emctl status agent is not running. < should it not work using GRID instead of doconsole? >

My agent10g on the host WHO is running and has a version 10.2.0.3 and shows my version of SGD 10.2.0.3.

Why the GRID control show a lower version for OEM10g?

Thank you...

I noticed that when I run the. / status of my bin dir emctl agent each GRID CONTROL verison is different.

Probably you have improved this particular to 10.2.0.3 agent

Why would that change every time?

It is not possible. Versions cannot keep changing for each visit. :)

In my grid control OEM10G is 10.1.0.4 - it's my version of GRID CONTROL. Fix?

This could be the version of the repository of the DB.
If you see the status message, it is gives clearly the Version of the grid ("Oracle Enterprise Manager 10 g Release 3 Grid Control 10.2.0.3.0.")

To find the Version of grid control in the console of the grid at the bottom of each page, you should have this...
"Subject to Oracle Enterprise Manager. This link will give you the version of the grid.

WHO has increased and works, but I could not connect to the grid using password sysman, so the first response has been to recognize that I'm in the wrong password, so took a connection using sqlplus and just changed the password sysman using the syntax ' change user sysman identified by. Little did I know that sysman to change password is more than running 'change user... '. ». So after the who stop, now I can't raise. This is what happens every time.

  • Is 11g database with 11g SGD 12 c support agent?

Yes, the certification on my oracle support tab lists the combinations.  12 c OEM is the only option for 12 c of database.

  • How to change EM12c SGD hostname post install without aliases.

Someone at - it measures to change the hostname post install WHO? My problem is that I have installed EM with the virtual host name that I intended to use as my PES hostname. So when I go to cut course using PES, then install the first SGD will break and be inaccessible to another WHO. Was able to get the first SGD working by putting an alias to hostname in/etc/hosts of the first OMS, but when I go to install the second SGD, of course, he says that he cannot reach the first SGD server using the SLB url. My bad, did this way of thinking that would save me having to re - establish hundreds of agents, which he did, but can't raise the second SGD. I think out of this I can choose a new hostname PES or just to change the host name of the installed WHO that I prefer to do about 50 dba has a link to this url to console 'EM. Thanks in advance for sharing your steps if possible!

    Kind regards

    Robert Matheny

Unfortunately, the only way I know to solve this problem is to perform a restore of the WHO using the different host.    basic steps to below, I have the doc that I have set up for a client a few years ago will try to turn into a blog and post here...

    Basic concept:

Don't forget to complete your backups first...

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E24628_01/install.121/e24089/ha_backup_recover.htm#CHDCEAJC

Then follow the steps for the restoration of the WHO.  You don't have to physically restore the SW, but you will need to remove the gc_inst and agent_inst respectively (move _OLD or something) they'll get re-created using the new hostname info in files, have to also remove the agent from the rest.

19.6.4.2 unique WHO, no PES, WHO, restored on a different host

  • SGD 12 c question...

First of all, I apologize for posting this under general issues, but this new portal of OTN is not intuitive and I can't find the darn SGD forum.

I searched under BROWSE, then PLACES, but most keywords that I search raise only discussions one or two other people posted, but not the actual forums.

Well, please accept my apologies and I hope that this will put themselves in the right forum I can to bookmark this forum.

So, my question is the following:

I'm not under SGD 12 c (on Rhel 6.4) it's important for this issue.

We have several databases that I add to the WHO.

Each database has its own set of users, and of course, there are a few users who want access to all the databases in the OMS (like other IT support people).

In our shop, net and even other administrators of the system will need to use SGD to do something related to a database.

So, I created the users and their given probably too many privileges granting roles: EM_ALL_OPERATOR, EM_USER, and PUBLIC.

That's probably an exaggeration, and I wonder what would be more appropriate, but still give them access to see and be able to do some DBA tasks (stop, start, add space in a tablespace, etc.).

But also, many users can look at the tab "Performance" of a database and you connect there as well.

If they have an account in the database they want to watch, what privileges or roles they need to show this performance tab?

It seemed that in older versions of OEM, it was something like MGMT_USER, or OEM_MONITOR or something like that.

    Hello

It's OEM_MONITOR for the performance tab - you can do it without that, but you get fair warnings that you are supposed to have that becomes very boring.

I think you may be confusing the roles in the database, you connect to with roles in EM. Even if you are a super administrator in MS it does not mean that you can restart a database - you must have an account in the database that can do this and an operating system account to be able to access this account of db.

    See you soon,.

  • For Cloud SGD LDAP authentication for users and administrators

    Hello.

I recently completed the installation of my new cloud of SGD 12.1.0.3 on Linux 6.4 (on a virtual machine).

My question is if it is possible (and how) to enable authentication for new administrator SGD through LDAP accounts?

We have already our VM hosts configured to allow LDAP authentication to theirs, but how to configure WHO to enable LDAP authentication even as users of server?  Because users are in LDAP, they do not have a local account on the servers, and we do not necessarily want users of WHO in order to connect the servers anyway.

One of the objectives to use LDAP is that we want to allow users to have only to change their domain/LDAP password and everything else is updated.

I see that when an account is created in the OMS, the user is created in the repository of OMS database.  I really want to restrict not know them to log directly in the database, but do how this is possible.  Can we still use pupbld for this?  Probably not...

I read the book below the Oracle documentation, but it is for SGD 11.1 and I'm under 12.1.

But the same year, he was not very descriptive about how to set up.

It sounds almost as if you had to take the decision to use LDAP for the installation of beginning of WHO.

I hope not, and I do not remember that as an option that I have installed the SGD.

Configuration of Oracle Enterprise repository to use external authentication tools - 11 g Release 1 (11.1.1.7)

Yes, you can still integrate with LDAP.   Please see the documentation here

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E24628_01/doc.121/e36415/sec_features.htm#CJAGHGAH

EM use WLS for authentication, so everything that is supported by this version of WLS will work.  Documentation received instructions for OAM/OID/HAD and Active Directory are specified.

Users can be changed to type external if they are already created in the repository with the appropriate connection name.   Otherwise, new users can be created.

Also be sure to examine the external roles option, which allows you to map a LDAP group to an external role in EM by using the same name and automatically assigning the privileges required by this group.

  • SGD 12 c OEM backup options

Hi everyone, all of the documentation I find seems to suggest that the only way to save the configuration of the WHO is to use the command "emctl exportconfig" command-line of the SGD server. This command requires the knowledge of the SYSMAN password which I don't have. Is it possible to back up the configuration of the console of 12 c OEM instead of the command line? Is it possible to use a credential named for the SYSMAN password if necessary?

SYSMAN can create a job and do not give access to any other user view. Any user who has access to submit work will be able to see the command line in the job definition.
