Since Wednesday last (06/29/11) all the xp pro pc on our network takes forever to download files. the network has 4 servers 2003 r2 and 2008 r2. You can navigate without problems, but when you download for example a 300 KB word doc it will take 5-10 minutes.

On a windows pc 7, it is as fast as its always been.

Nothing has changed the wise configuration, but servers are installed to automatically download patches and it seems to have happened Tuesday / Wednesday last week.

Sure that's not SMB2 Preety causing the problem, maybe a patch for the network protocol?

  • HP Elitebook 8570p - Windows XP USB very slow and the transfer rate performance issues.

Hello. I was wondering if anyone else knows some performance issues with the HP Elitebook 8570p and Windows XP Pro - SP3.

I get a VERY slow start, general poor performance (waiting time when opening files and programs).

I asked to burn in tests that show that everything is good.

USB transfer rates are VERY slow (tried all ports of a Seagate FreeAgent USB drive, which works fine on other laptops etc.) for example a 30-minute transfer a 7gig single file of the USB HD on the desktop. Only 3 minutes to do the same on another laptop.

I think there are problems with the drivers, like Windows 7 works very well and does boot from a bootable USB.

USB transfer rate are also good when starting from a Windows boot environment.

I installed HP SoftPaq Download Manager, and all the drivers are up to date.

  • Slow Skype file transfer on WLC

    Hello world

I'm trying to transfer a file from Skype via cisco WLC, but the transfer is very slow (over an hour) for a small KB of the file. The same configuration works well if I do it on the local intranet.

I also activated the mode of blocking of peer to peer in WLC, to no avail.

Please help me on this as it is very urgent for me.

    Kind regards

    SIAH

You run the version of the software is very very old. WLC is 4400 or 2100, upgrade you to 7.0.250.0?

Once you do this upgrade, you must change some of the settings of your WLAN.

    -WMM must be enabled
    -WPA2/AES must be activate

    -WPA2/TKIP should be disabled

Without the upgrade of WLC you can not able to do all the required configuration of WLAN.

  • Very slow logoin using RDP Client, quick view

    Hey all,.

I'm fighting for days with a slow connection problem.  We have deployed just saw 4.6 with VM Vista (no jokes please) on a remote site.

When I connect the view by using the VM Client, logon takes 1-3 minutes, and it hangs just at the Vista Welcome screen.  It does not hang on the "Application of user settings" screen or a profile.  The Welcome screen initial is where it crashes and then finally connect.

When I use RDP to connect to the same virtual machine, I am connected in less than 30 seconds.

One thing we corrected yesterday has been updated Active Directory Sites and Services to include the new VDI subnets associated with the correct remote site.

I'd be happy for any anyone has any ideas.  I watched every news from Microsoft, that I could find, I have not watched much view newspapers.  Because the virtual machine and the customer to view seem to work ok.

    Thank you

    Andrew

So all the view components are local to a particular site and then your office phyiscal is across the wan.     I remember reading somewhere in Windows 7 which having a solid color wallpaper would cause delays to the Welcome screen.  I don't know if it's applicable for Vista, but it may be worth trying, although it seems likely that a bug would be too present in RDP.    If you use RDP to the Customer View should connect to a decent speed?    If so we could exclude the customer from view as being a question and focus on something like PCOIP.

  • Satellite A40-151 started very slow and have hours to transfer a single file

    Hello.

I've had my A40-151 more than two years now, and up to last month, I got no problems at all. However, last month, it began to be very slow and took hours to initialize. I'm worried that I would lose all the data that I didn't back up, and so I bought an external drive to transfer data.

As I was doing this, my laptop started making grinding noises, and it took up to 12 hours to transfer a single file. I got to the place, I bought it, and they said it had crashed and that it was not something they could do other than get it back - and so I lost all my data.

When I came back, it was OK for a few hours and then started grinding again! And I think it might be something to do with the CD/DVD drive. I uninstalled the drive, and the squeaking seems to have stopped as long as the "drawer" player is open! Help, please!

How can I get the drive replaced? My laptop is no longer under warranty. No I lost everything this that data for nothing?

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Hello

No, the squeaking is probably from the reader of CD/DVD being dry, while optical rides on squeak track passing. But the long loading is certainly a hard drive problem. Looks like a head crash. The head is more or less what locates and reads/writes data from the HARD drive. When this plant it is unable to read/write/or locate the data on the surface taking more and more to save the data, transfer data and load the operating system. Two problems independent of each other. If your ASP cannot repair the cd that squeaks, then they can replace it one that works normally. I hope this has helped you.

When I transfer files from my hard drive on a USB flash drive, the transfer rate is very slow, about 250 KB / second. Is it possible to increase the speed of transfer rate

depends on the speed, support USB 2.0, USB 2.0 ports, and with active BIOS settings

    (2) you can increase the speed, if your motherbaord has a USB 3.0 port and must be enabled in the BIOS

  • Very slow view using OS x client for Windows 8 RDP

I'm having a problem of strange performance to help the customer to view for OSX and connecting to a remote desktop in Windows 8. I'm the last side connections to the same remote workstations using a windows on the excellent work of the RDP client and client and server versions. No performance problems. I'm a bit at a loss as to what could be the issue.

Context menus in Office remote work quickly but running programs, opening and closing of windows, etc. is very slow. No conflicts or hogging on the remote system, nor the client resources. All connections PCOIP or RDP sessions to other workstations (which are all Windows 7) work perfectly without any problems. Any help in troubleshooting is appreciated.

    Hello

When connecting to the remote with the Protocol RDP of Mac View Client Desktop, it will use the image of high quality as a default value for the connection of the DRC. MS RDC app is a very old application, there is no new version for so long and there are no updates to improve the performance of this specific to the new Windows operating system (Win8/8.1/2012). Perhaps the reason for the performance on Windows 8 with the DRC issue.

If you are using the RDP protocol client Mac view, please change display settings for the Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) first app. And then reconnect directly remote desktop via IP (without customer view) to check if the performance is somewhat improved.

Menu at the top of the app DRC: DRC-> preferences-> display

Try to change some parameters like the attached screenshot shown.

If it works, you can replace the template file RDP for the Mac View Client app with steps below:

    1. download the attached template file ' vmware - view.rdp.

    2. copy and replace the file in the Applications/VMware view Horizon Client/Contents/Resources/vmware-view.rdp

    3. exit view Mac Client app

4 restart Mac View Client and connect to Windows 8 desktop via RDP Protocol

    Thank you.

  • Mini Mac server - attachment of external hard drives file transfer speed

    Hi guys!

I wanted to increase the speed and storage capacity to transfer to my Mac mini file, so I bought a box of external hard drives. The one I bought is: http://www.icydock.com/goods.php?id=219

Built-in the Mac mini hard drives transfer the file to 60 MB/s (writing and reading) and I wanted to get better speed of file transfer, so I bought an SSD that is going to be inside with an another HARD drive of 3 TB for archiving my files. The housing is connected by USB3.0 (5 Gb/s) for the Mac mini.

    [SSD-> files I opened every day] - speed around 550 MB/s write and 500 MB/sec in reading

[HDD-> Archives, files that I have does not open very often] - speed around 150 MB/s write and 150 MB/sec in reading

So I did some benchmarks on my new Setup, and the speed is not really what I expected. Transfer of file max speed I have achieved is about 100 MB/sec in writing on the external SSD plugged into the mac mini. This transfer has been filed since an iMac 21 "2011 with an SSD (with almost the same speed read/write than the box) so it's quite disappointing.

It is possible that the Mac has a 'file transfer speed limit' is somewhere? Or whatever else that could affect that?

    More information on my setup:

    Mac Mini server 2012 - 2 TB RAID 1 - Mac OSX 10.9.5

    iMac 21 "2011 - Crucial SSD 275 Gb - Mac OSX 10.9.4

    IcyDock external enclosure - 4 bays, USB3 5 Gb/s

    -Red WD HDD 3To

    -Crucial SSD 1 TB

    Together internal Gigabit Ethernet network

    Thank you!

Was perhaps Spotlight indexing external at the same time, the test has been done?

  • Transmision very slow Satellite L30 - 113 (33rd PSL) LAN file

    Hello world!

After upgrading OS from Vista to XP pro work LAN Ethernet very slow (transfer of files of 100 MB, 2 hours).

    XP-drivers downloaded from toshiba - Europe.com, for model Satellite L30-113 PCL33.

    Maybe I should applay patches?
Also I can't use the PC card slot...

    Hello

The transfer of data should be the same under Vista and XP.
I think that you have installed an antivirus that scans all files during data transmission.

    Please disable it!

    By the way;
If you notice a slow, data transfer Windows Vista try disabling Remote Differential Compression
    To do:
-Start-> Control Panel-> programs and features
-Click on Turn windows features on the left side of the screen on or off
    -Off remote differential compression

  • Terminal Server RDP is very slow!

    Hello!

I have a small network with a domain controller Active Directory (Windows 2003) - including the Exchange, I had a Windows 2003 Terminal Server initially, but have replaced the Windows 2003 Terminal Server with a Terminal Windows 2008 Enterprise Server (not R2). Windows 2008 is a completely new system, not an upgrade.

The problem is that the new Terminal Server ('08) is running very very slow one time the old 2003 Terminal Server is not present on the network. Although I use is no longer the old server, he seems to have an impact on the performance of the network.

For example, if I should shut down the old server, the new server becomes very slow. It takes about 5 + minutes to services/applications load after you try to connect to the server using RDP. You get a white screen for a long time before the icons are loaded and everything works really slow, including Outlook. On the contrary, once the old server is started in Windows, the new server works very well.

All servers are physical boxes and I'm not going to finally get rid of the old Terminal Windows 2003 server.

When you configure the 2008 Terminal Server, I did transfer the IP address of the Terminal Server, the Terminal Server 2008 Server, 2003 server and give the old server a new IP address. I don't know if it has something to do with the behavior, but the old server is not used. It is initialized only to try to keep the stable network.

  • Homegroup is very slow. Loading files from another computer is very long and I can't watch movies on the wireless using the homegroup.

Group residential slow and other problems with it

    Hello!

I have 3 Windows 7 PC-s (office #1, #2 desktop and laptop). I created HomeGroup and join all computers, so I can access the files on each of them. But my problem is the following: homegroup is very slow. Loading files from another computer is very long and I can't watch movies on the wireless using homegroup, because it is slow and every two seconds of loading film. And also needed a few minutes to open the pictures (more than 10 GB in all folders) to a folder in the other PC. Why is this work so slow? I don't think there is a problem with slow wireless router, because I can replace my old Linksys WRT54GL Linksys E4200, which is able to transfer video HD 3D such as Linksys provide. What should I do to fix this? Should I change all the settings in Windows, perhaps in the router...?
And why my laptop is not always visible to the other PC to homegroup? He see two others and two other sees, but they are not portable. This happens sometimes. But then I still share with homegroup libraries to my laptop and there still other computers see it and all shared libraries. Where is the problem? I also try to change the HomeGroup services automatically, but this does not solve the problem.
If I forgot something to write, or you need more information, do not hesitate to ask.
    I'd appreciate any help really.

    Hello

Manually check manufacturers sites WiFi because pilots offered through
Updates Windows will most often not be later (MS is far behind certifying)
drivers and many manufacturers do not quickly submit newer versions or not at all). See
Manual driver update of the methods below.

The question could be WiFi in fact however try to device (hardware)
    update the driver first.

What antivirus/security is used? Some of those who will cause problems with the
Homegroup. Since it happens more often on a single computer that on there
    a check.

    From this link:

Homegroup: frequently asked questions (also shows how delete and remove homegroup)
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/HomeGroup-frequently-asked-questions

"Only people who belong to the homegroup can see shared libraries. You can also share libraries or files and individual folders with specific people in your homegroup, rather than share them with everyone. ==================

How to upgrade manually the drivers:

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using the methods
below is preferred so that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are
    found)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

Download - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version.
(Those become your fonts of rescue system manufacturer).

Repeat for network (NIC) card and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as windows
    7 love the updated drivers.
