SL510 - 2 external DVI monitor - is it possible?

Hello

is it possible to use 2 external DVI monitors? The graphics card is capable of that? Or can I replace the graphics card to activate it (I don't think)? USB 2.0 to DVI adapters work?

Thank you for every response.

My laptop:

ThinkPad SL510,

Mobile Intel(r) 45 Express Chipset Family

3 GB RAM

Win 7 Pro 32 bit

you need to sign one of the monitors DVI using a head of cable or adapter converter HDMI2DVI, then the second dvi monitors with 2dvi usb converter.

    Hello

One question: the laptop supports a DVI?
As far as I know the laptop has only RGB (monitor output port) and S-video output port.

If you want to use an external monitor you need to connect it to the RGB port, then switch to the external display with the key FN + F5 combination

  • Portege R500: unable to connect the remote DVI monitor via Dynadock

    Hello

I just connected Dynadock (DVI) with my Portege R500. The cell would be supported - according to Toshiba - but my experience confirms that Dynadock is not able to access the DVI ports. This implies, that Dynadock is nothing more than the USB HUB.

My setup: Vista 32 company b (CZE edition), the latest patches, Toshiba R500.

Software: latest dynadock software 2.3 c.

Symptom: I can't connect to the remote DVI monitor via the dynadock, there are only two external panels with 800 x 600, but Vista does not allow me to choose.

More information: software Dynadock requires to run without Microsoft Defender, otherwise it blocks the service: DisplayLinkService; file:C:\Program Files\DisplayLink base Software\DisplayLinkService.exe
If you turn off the MSDef, the "error 2738" message appears when you connect the dynadock and when Vista tries to install a missing drivers for you.
Yes, I know the VBS question and the problem is not caused by VisualBasic - VBS "Hello World" runs.

If you think always, Toshiba Dynadock is compatible with Toshiba R500, then press Fn + F5 and look at your logs and you should find something like:
In English: igfxext.exe throws an exception 0xc000000d, offset 0x0000f9f8.

I look forward to the comments, advice etc. If you are able to transmit this bug report to a responsible engineer, do please.

    Hello Leo

As far as I know, Toshiba has not designed for laptops models own only Dynadock and it can be used on every laptop or fixed. Because of this, I think that this statement about model of care is not so important for this problem.

Toshiba provides devices and software. To connect using the USB port, and these ports must each computer or laptop. I hope that you have installed the software by following the on-screen instructions (device of should not be connected to the start-up of the plant).

Is your Portege docked the host or you have connected Dynadock directly in Portege s USB port?

    Hello

What is the brand and model of the video card?

Also check the wiring to make sure they are properly attached and reinstall the video card drivers. It is possible that the graphics card does not support an office unified on several monitors.

    Here's how:

    1. click on the Start button.
    2. in the search box type devmgmt.msc, and then press ENTER.
    3. Select the video card device and right click on it
    4. now, select uninstall.
5 restart the computer. This should install it a suitable driver for it.

I have a MacBook Pro of the retina on OS X El Capitan 10.11.3 running. Previously, I could connect a previous MacBook Pro (late 2009) to an external VGA monitor. • AMD Radeon 6450 with two DVI monitors

just bought a new HP Pavilion p7qe with a graphics AMD Radeon 6450.  How 2 DVI monitors? I tried a digital dual link DVI, of no separator. I ordered a multi hub adapter, DP DVI 3 screen... who do not work.  Help!

    Hello

The Radeon 6450 on your PC has three ports; DVI, HDMI, and VGA according to the configurator.  Please check this information.

You can use a DVI cable to HDMI. www.pccables.com you can think of an adapter (DVI-HDMI).  I do not recommend adapters because they add more points of failure.

  • VGA / DVI monitor conflict?

A few months ago, I created two monitors on my computer, it is hung using a VGA cable and the other a DVI - D cable.  Everything worked perfectly until this morning.  Now, the computer is perpetually connection and disconnection then the DVI monitor.  Both monitors work fine by themselves, but as soon as the two are hung up cycle connect/disconnect restarting the PC DVI (about a second between each connect and disconnect).  I changed the DVI cable again and shorter cable, I watched the updates, and none have been installed prior to this failure.  I restarted the computer with different combinations of attached monitors and still no resolution.  Can someone help me?  I only have a DVI and a VGA port on my PC and only one of the monitors has DVI port.  My graphics card is an Intel 4 series internal chipset.

  • Precision M4600 suite screen problem when it is attached to external DVI & VGA monitors via docking station

    I had a strange problem with my M4600 (Windows 7 x 64, Nvidia Quadro 1000 M GPU). Here's how to reproduce:

    1. Dock work station
    2. Connect at least 2 external monitors to the wharf, at least 1 connected via DVI and at least 1 monitor connected in VGA
    3. Select power management performance under Windows 7
    4. Change the power plan settings to set the screen turns off after 15 minutes (or any time)
    5. PC slowed down to allow the screen turns off
    6. Try to wake up the screen by moving the mouse or using PC

You will notice that the external monitors wake, but the laptop screen is not. So far, the only way I was able to wake up the screen of the laptop is in closing, forcing so the lock PC screen appears on external displays. Unlocking the computer and then reopening of the screen wakes up at the laptop screen, but also causes a crash of the GPU from Intel, which is used to retrieve the OS on the fly.

I had this problem with all the GPU drivers for my machine, than to Dell support for the own site WHQL drivers Nvidia. Anyone having this problem or know of a fix?

Note that this bug does not occur when the laptop is connected to the monitor (s) DVI only.

  • RES 1900 x 1200 on an external monitor, is that possible?

Have a display capable of 1900 x 1200, but can't get out to do. 1600 x 1200 is best achieved but gets stretched.
    Any ideas?

    Hello Karl

You can get the maximum resolution only if it is supported by the video card. I put t know which model of laptop you have, but resolution 1600 x 1200 is obviously the most of the video card in your device.

    Good bye

  • T400 and Advanced Mini Dock - does not detect DVI monitor

I have a T400 with integrated graphics and Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, and I recently bought an Advanced Mini Dock for it.  I have a Dell 1800FP monitor connected to the dock via the DVI output.  When I anchor the T400, the system does not detect the external monitor.  If I go to the resolution of the screen and click on detect, it does not appear.  The weird part is that if I reboot then than in the dock, when the system comes back he * is * detect and use the external monitor.

Any ideas what's happening?  Other equipment connected by the base (USB, Ethernet cable devices) all work very well.

I think I solved this problem.  I uninstalled my video driver and installed the latest version from the Lenovo Web site (which was more recent than the one found by Lenovo System Update).  Now my system properly detects the external monitor when I attach to the docking station.

  • T410 - question external displayport monitor

    Hello
I have problem with my T410. I connected external monitor (HP LP2475w) on displayport. All right until I wake my NB to suspend. After I wake up, I have to move the mouse (or press a key) to get an image (like the monitor has been turned off). But then the image is corrupt. On the entire display, I can see only one small piece of the center of the image (typically image and password login field on the login screen of W7). It is not a bad resolution, only very zoomed image. I have to unplug the displayport cable, open the cover, plug in the cable and close the cover. After is fine image, once again, but the procedure is very annoying. It doesn't matter if I connected directly to the NB or dock. Also it takes place the same problem when I got to the top of the closure of the monitor in poster options of the control panel.

    Anyone know the solution?

    Thank you.

Finally, I realized, that the problem is in the monitor. Switching/DVI solved.

  • Satellite Pro U200 - external VGA monitor shows no output

I bought this unit, such as used on ebay. It works fine except that the external VGA connection does not work. I'm on win 7 and I it does not recognize the external display properly and I can set it up as an expanded view. However the external display shows nothing. The external VGA display is fine because it works with other machines to laptop. I tried to use UBUNTU Live CD on this machine and tried to do the work of the external screen (and it also can recongize the external display and configure it) but there is no picture. I also connected the screen external vga port and then rebooted the machine, but still no picture. I tried to change the settings in the bios for both display, but all my actions point to a hardware failure.

I don't know if it's a manufacturing defect? Do you know if this problem has been reported earlier for you. Y at - it a recall issued for this?
Please advise I need to connect this external screen but am sure it's a fault of equipment with your device.

    Hey Buddy,

Have you tried it with the factory settings? I mean the Windows preinstalled from Toshiba with all drivers and tools. If you have the Toshiba Recovery disk you boot from that disk and install Windows with all the drivers and tools.

In addition, you can switch between internal and external monitor by using the FN + F5 key combination. It work?

  • Monochrome external VGA monitor

I had a monitor configuration 2 x 27 "since I got my laptop about a year ago. A monitor is connected via Displayport, it via VGA. I leave the lid of my W520 closed so I use the two external monitors. Today, I've had my laptop dropped out of my workstation and now when I try to hook it up once again the screen is connected via VGA appears black and white.

Here is what I have all my my laptop got since the monitors:

    1) has had to work as usual (he has no fall or something like that so I don't think it would have been physically damaged)

    (2) installed a new battery (just arrived today, original Lenovo)

Here's what I tried to get the problem resolved:

    1) update both integrated and Quadro 1000 M drivers

    (2) switch monitors (one connected via VGA is B & W)

    (3) switched to a new VGA cable

    (4) restarted my PC several times

    (5) tinkered around with the settings under "Screen Resolution".

    (6) checked VGA port - aesthetically it looks like there still (no damage or something like that)

Switched 7) back to the old battery and tried again

Please help me! I wouldn't take my computer to a specialist of the material because I am just out of warranty and I can't really afford a professional maintenance. Since I'm sure that nothing has been damaged physically, what other software fixes I could try?

    Thanks in advance!

Check driver under color settings in the NVIDIA Control Panel. He could have saturation set to zero.
