video card, that you are running is not supported.

I have tried running airbourne Medal of honor, on windows vista, nothing helps, even after having used troubleshooting on windows. my computer is acer aspire 5720, windows vista. the message I get is. (the video card is not supported)

Try disabling each card one at a time to see which card is not supported, and if this does not work, try disabling the Intel and Ati chips to see if nVIDIA card works on its own.

How to disable graphics cards
Go to: start > Panel > hardware and sound > Device Manager > graphics cards, with the button right of the graphics card you want to disable, and then click "disable". (To re-enable graphics card right-click on it and select 'Activate').

I hope this works (I have is not, I'm at the end of my knowledge and will not be able to think of anything else).

Do not transfer you files x 86 or x 64, that simply do not work and other issues.

  • Age of Empires II - "can't initialize graphics system. Make sure that your video card and driver are compatible with DirectDraw.

    Hello

I have a problem of Age of Empires 2 running on my new computer. Keeps displaying the following error message: "cannot initialize the graphics system. Make sure that your video card and driver are compatible with DirectDraw. "Someone at - it solutions to this? I have already visited many forums and trying different solutions; None of them helped.

Tried solutions: change the compatibility and as an administrator, switching to 16-bit color, turn off my graphics card, execution of the extension "nostartup" of the game, looking for old patches from Microsoft (which most are now unavailable due to the game being so old). I KNOW that others have been able to get this game to work on the Windows 7 operating system, but with a few other quirks and I KNOW my video card and driver are more than capable of handling this game. Any suggestions?

I had the above problem with AOEII:Age of the Kings. My brief spec is Windows 7 Ultimate edition (SP1) and a card nVidia 8600 GT. I did the following (make sure you reboot after each installation):

Make sure that you are running the latest patch of AOEII:AOK (2. 0 a):

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=35

Download and install the latest version of DirectX:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=5264

Download and install the latest nVidia Driver suite. I left the autodetect my card software and reset all my default settings. I also installed the full software suite:

    http://www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Finally, right click on the shortcut of AOE and click Properties. Click on the Compatibility tab and select the following:

-Run this program in compatibility mode - choose Windows XP Service Pack 2 (!) NOT 3!)
    -Disable visual themes
-Disable the Composition of the Bureau
-Run this program as an administrator

One of the above options maybe work on its own, but that's what I had to do to make it work and I tested it after each step.

    Good luck!

I downloaded Microsoft Games for Windows - Live. I then downloaded & installed the game games room. When I tried to play it I got this error: game room requires a video card that supports shader model 3.0 your video card does not meet these requirements: How can I fix? Will this work? http://www.download3k.com/system-utilities/system-maintenance/download-graphics-card-driver-update.html

    Hello Ann42633,

If you have not changed the video card that you purchased your computer, you can visit the Dell Web site and use the service tag to determine the video card.

In addition, you can locate the type of video card you have by the following text:

    -Click Start

-Type Device Manager into the start menu search box, press enter

    -Develop graphics cards

You must also obtain the appropriate driver from the Dell Web site and update your video card.

    Hope this helps

I can't get my Age of Empires 2: Age of Kings drive on my computer.

It gives me the error message: could not initialize graphics system. Make sure that your video card and driver are compatible with DirectDraw.

  • Can't install Itunes, get an error that the Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode"

    OP: Install problems Windows

I tried to install iTunes, but he said that "the Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode or if Windows Installer is not installed properly. Call support personnel. "They gave me similar messages by other programs I've tried to install as well.

Because I was not running Windows in safe mode in time, I assumed that the installer was not installed correctly. So I tried to download from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=5A58B56F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en

But then I got error messages like "this update does not apply to your system" and "not enough memory is available to process this command." I tried all the links and none of them worked for me. I'm running a Vista Home Premium 64 bit, and I 2.38 GB of available RAM, so I don't think that the lack of memory is the problem here. What should I do?

1.] I had a previous version of iTunes, but I got rid of it with Revo Uninstaller.

I was looking around and I found this: http://www.vistax64.com/vista-installation-setup/96680-repair-windows-installer-service-vista-all-versions-2.html

I followed the direction of the last message (by F'n Vista) and changed the value of WOW64 Registry and now iTunes has installed perfectly and works now. I'll try to install other programs that I got hurt with previously. Thank you very much for your help! :)

  • Error message: "the version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows that you are using", when you try to run an old ms - based back program in Win-7 Ultimate 64 bit.

Original title: program compatibility Application Applications App Apps game games Legacy Crash crashes Hang hangs

I get this message when you try to run an old MS-DOS - based program in Win-7 Ultimate 64-bit.

"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are using. Check your computer system information to see whether you need a x 86 (32 bit) or x 64 (64-bit) version of the program and then contact the software publisher. »

I understand that I am under a 64 bit OS, but is it possible to get this program to run? I was wondering if anyone has tips :)

    Hi Bcopeland,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

Based on the information, you are trying to install and use an old ms - dos program based in Windows-7 Ultimate 64-bit.

The problem is a software that was created for Windows 95, 98, and Windows XP has no way to work correctly with an operating system that didn't even exist when the software was written. However, the error message you get normally means that you have a 32-bit software that you are trying to install on a 64-bit system.

You can check the compatibility of the program with Windows 7, in the Compatibility Center.

    Compatibility Center

If the program is not compatible, then you try to install and run the program in compatibility mode.

    a. click right on the program.

    b. click Properties.

    c. click on the tab compatibility.

    d. Select run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows Vista or whatever to use the system, the program was executed successfully.

Here is an article that gives you more information on this:

Make older programs in this version of Windows

If the problem persists, you can get in touch with the software vendor to see for the latest version of the program to use the same system of 64-bit Windows 7.

    Hope the helps of information.

If you need assistance in the future to resolve any issues related to Windows, post your query and we will be happy to help you.

I can't find the driver for it

    Thanks for the info, rabjhop.
As I suspected, the weak link is your graphics card integrated - GMA910GL of Intel is not enough juice (nor has it required WDDM WHQL certified drivers) to properly support DirectX (or a few other things) entirely in hardware (not on Vista or Win7.)  Even the GMA950 chip had problems in Media Center (go all the way back to Media Center 2005); the minimum that worked really really - still - is the GMA x 3000.
In other words, you need a graphics card.  But you don't have to spend a lot of money - a PCIe card decent (assuming you have a PCIe x 16 location) can be made for<>

I have not assumed that you could pop the cover off the PC and see what (if any) you have at disposal a graphic slot, could you?
    Here's what you're looking for:
PCI Express: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PCIExpress.jpg see the long slots?  Those who are 16 x.  No the difference (you can tell by the location of the key in the notch) to what follows.
    AGP slot: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:AGP_slot.jpg
In the two photos, the mount is on your left.

    Kind regards
    Chris
