I have a Pavilion dv9000 cto.  The graphics card does not (nvidia gforce go 7600). I downloaded the latest driver from HP, Nvidia and Windows Updates site.  I also reinstalled Windows XP SP3 operating system.  As soon as I install the graphics driver and back running the laptop, the screen comes with horizontal lines and it seems that it is starting, but after a minute or 2, the screen is blank.  I can only boot the laptop in safe mode.  Have a solution or heard of this problem?
Thanks in advance for your answer.

    Hello:

If you do a search on this forum, or the Internet in general, you will find many messages about the problems of overheating or failure GPU for dv6000/dv9000 series.

More that probably your GPU is endangered and the motherboard needs to be replaced that would be throwing good money after bad.

Toshiba will do something on it or its place at Microsoft and N Vidia to solve the problem?

    Thanks for reading this

I can't talk to you much the upgrade of Windows 10 on this model of laptop because Win 10 is not released now... it takes a few days before the official release of Windows 10...
Also, I guess that after version 10 of Windows, the manufacturers of devices (e.g. nVidia) will release Win 10 drivers too...

But it is pending if your graphics card will receive the drivers Win 10... We'll see...

My question is - given that I will receive the upgrade to windows 7 - if I ever need to use the system restore CD can I still re - install windows7 from upgrade CD?

    Hello

Upgrade Windows 7 HP offers only modernize Windows Vista to Windows 7. However, if you want applications that are provided with the unit also be upgraded to Windows 7 compatible software, it is recommended to create system recovery disks. Whenever you need to recover your system, you must first perform a recovery using the recovery kits and then upgrade to Windows 7 using the upgrade kit.

    Hope this information helps.

  • No GPU fan after upgrading the BIOS to 4.2 on Satellite P100-434

Hi, I upgraded my BIOS today to version 4.2 and since the GPU fan only works during the splash screen, and once Vista has loaded, it never runs again, in addition, the CPU fan turns at a constant speed, and the screen has "shifted" to the right, so I quarter of the right hand of the screen on the left.
As you can imagine, it's a little annoying, and to say that the GPU temp is 65deg. with 90deg all about processors. not too good for the material.

Is could someone PLEASE tell me how I can downgrade the BIOS?

I have fans and fences etc. are all and free from dust.

I do turn all the appropriate toshiba of specific drivers, and I even tried to reinstall the NVidia one card.

  • Satellite L300 - 11 M and hardware upgrade

    Hi all.

I have Toshiba Satellite L300 - 11M, but my video card is very slow and I can't play games well. So, I want to upgrade trought purchase new video card. But I do not know my laptopl support AGP or PCI connector only? So what is the best video card in N-VIDIA who support?

    Please help me. Thank you.

To be honest, I doubt that such external graphics card would be really useful.
According to this article, you can connect it to a USB port and in my opinion the USB 2.0 speed is not good enough to transmit a huge amount of data that accumulate through a game
However, I've never tested it so I can't give details.

  • Install SATA hard drive in HP A720n

Hi, I use an old HP Pavilion A720n PC, has an ASUS motherboard. Computer is maybe 7-10 years. Don't ask me why, and I can't give an answer but love to tinker and learn to use older and newer computers. These days, the computer industry is, of course, will (or gone) to the SATA drives. I know little about them. But I see two ports or connectors on the motherboard, 1 is labeled 1 Sata and one is labeled SATA 2 - one is black, one is white. I bought a couple of adapters, but something does not appear here. Readers have 15-pin, then we're about 7 pins, and I see a 4 pin - (small rods, similar to the small connectors used to power of diskettes, etc.) on all of the power from the power supply connections.

I don't know if I need one or two red Connector cables, for SATA and power supply connector or just pin 15 or just pin 7. Can I put several (SATA) hard drive in the computer or limited to one? And the computer will have to change in the bios or any where when I switch to SATA, if I can go. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you

    Ssmiley

Thanks, Vidya, what I'm doing is trying to decide on a new computer, HP, or keep these two computers A720n. I have a Compaq, most recent, and a Mac book prorunning software mac Windows amd. So the 'old' may be in the form of hobby. Thanks for the info, I've touched the thumb, but not sure that it worked? I really apprehciate the response and INFO. Ssmiley

  • W510 brightness in Win 7 64 x

    Hello

I would like to ask for help with the possibility of correction of brightness for ThinkPad W510. I want to put in place the brightness using Fn + key one (from level 0 to 15), but it is not possible to do. Down is correction of brightness goes in this direction: 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 6, 1. upwards is correction of brightness goes in this direction: 1, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15. Everything is OK, when I use the slider windows and the mouse in the Windows settings, but the correction of brightness using Fn + key does not work correctly. If I move the windows at position 0 brightness slider and then I start to pass the brightness Fn + key, so brightness is changed from: 0, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15. Upward even brightness evolves as first case. If I select with the brightness windows slider 2 position and then I start to pass the brightness by Fn + key makes it impossible to change the brightness on the position 1 or 0. I can only change up to the brightness Fn + key on 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15. If I move with the brightness windows 3-position slider and then I start to pass the brightness by Fn + key makes it impossible to change the brightness on position 1 or 0 or 2. I can only change up to the brightness Fn + key on 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15. 4 post I cannot go down to the 0 position. Upward I can move with brightness level 7 ony, then along the prefiously case. For 5, I can go down only 0 level and only 8, 9 etc.

This problem is beginning to form of purchase of ThinkPad (Win7 Pro 64 x). I also reinstalled Windows, but the reason was the same. Driwers has also been reinstalled (n-Vidia Lenovo Web site driwer), but the reason was the same. It has been tested several drivers, older drivers who wasn't for Win8 and to finally has been reinstalled driver and software for Fn + key (hot key) features.

I would use the correction of brightness by using Fn + key steps, please.., is someone who knows what I can do?

BTW: I am sorry for my mistakes, I'm not English.

Thanks a lot for an answer.

  • Need installation disk for Windows XP Edition family fo Compaq Presario S4020WM.

    Hello

I'm running a Compaq Presario S4020WM and have Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 3) installed.  I got this computer as a gift and it came with this operating system.  The operating system is not a genuine copy of windows (he says it's a version of test on my desktop wallpaper).  The sticker on the computer, says that he supplied with Windows XP Edition original family.  I would like to reinstall Windows XP Home Edition on the computer, but I don't have the installation disc.  I contacted the web site of the window and chat with technical support.  They asked me to contact the manufacturer of the computer for my specific product key installation disc.  My product key is [personal information deleted], my product number is DK214A and the S/N is[personal information deleted].  I know I am not pleased under warranty, but I would be eternally grateful if you could send me the Installation disk for Windows Home Edition for this particular product key.  Thank you.

Vidya has already pointed out, the HP recovery discs are available for purchase at the third-party provider ComputerSurgeons.com

There is a direct link to order No. 5069 - 5087 - Windows XP Home SP1 recovery (33NAHERED4) - Compaq discs model S4020WM on the ComputerSurgeons Web site.

  • Laptop HP G60t-500 - cannot find the DVD burner driver

    Hello

I upgraded my laptop G60t-500 for Windows 8.  I had to reinstall some of the drivers in compatibility mode and overall, it works ok (thumping audio does not work, but I get audio with USB speakers) However, I just noticed that the DVD RW drive does not.  In Device Manager, the hp DVDRAM GT20L reports the following error message:

Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

    {Unable to load device driver}
HS device driver could not be loaded.
    Error status is 0 x %x

I was looking on the site of HP support pilot for the original drivers for the DVD RW drive but can't seem to find them.  I found the HP DVD Play software and I was wondering if it needs to be reinstalled.  Or I have to look elsewhere for the device driver?  Or should I uninstall and leave the machine to find the driver.

As a record, when I right click on the device in Device Manager and select "Update driver software", select the option to let the computer find the right driver, he again reports the correct driver is installed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Carol

Thank you, Vidya.  I had to reboot and now my machine 'sees' the DVD player and it's working (I tested it using a DVD for playback and serious files).

    Thank you!!

  • HP Pavilion a1767c Vista Home 32 bit - BIOS update failed

The unexpected happened by updating my BIOS, we lost the power.  Once the power came back, my machine was bricked.  I get the error of Checksum BIOS's Boot Blocker

I did some research and found that I could re-Flash my BIOS so I could boot to a CD or a floppy disk.  I don't have a floppy drive, and after many attempts, I learned how to create a bootable CD with PHLASH16 and the extracted from the update of the BIOS ROM file that I had downloaded from the HP support site for my computer (sp37378.exe).  The question is the program flash will not read the ROM file that I've extracted from your exe file and I can't find the original file for the BIOS on the HP website.

Am I right in thinking I can reflash my BIOS?

Can you help me to loacate the worm/Date BIOS:

Thank you for your time and help,

From another thread, I started looking for a copy of the Bios file, I found my answer.  I tried to use the tool of phoenix bios when I should have used the bios awards tool.  You can search for "BIOS for Pavilion a1767c Vista 32 bit" for the full net.  Here is the comment that has saved my pc.
