    If you perform a complete PC backup image, you should be able to reinstall this image from backup to the new hard drive.

  • Windows 7 photo viewer broken by the software update of Intel Corporation display published February 2012

    I tried the optional "Corporation - display - Intel (r) Intel's HD Graphics" offered by Windows Update.  The patch installed properly.  I also installed all the patches from Microsoft in the most recent update at the same time - my system is up to date with all patches from Microsoft for Windows 7.

    The Intel driver is identified as "Display Intel Corporation software update released in February 2012" with driverid = 20470193 (but doesn't link to winqual included).

    After I rebooted the system, I noticed that the Photo Viewer Windows 7 (Microsoft utility provided for the display of image files) was broken.  It would display usually several images, but after a few, trying to go to the next image would cause him to hang, with an error message and an error logged in the system log files.  The error logged has this information:

    The failed igdumd64.dll DLL is part of the Intel driver patch.

    I was able to revert to the version of the prior pilot with no problem using Device Manager (you cannot remove this hotfix with the usual methods to remove a patch provided by Windows Update, because it's a device driver).

    Once I have returned to the older version of the driver (with the old DLL) flaws with Photo Viewer problems went away.

    I don't use many intensive graphics applications, but I would not be surprised if this driver breaks things.

    I can't find any documentation on what, if any, problem known this updated driver is supposed to fix.  But he clearly presents problems that did not exist with the driver components, it replaced.

    I fully understand that driver development is a challenge, but this driver was clearly not enough tested if it succeeds in breaking simple things like photo viewer.

    The driver in question is provided by Intel and the same update available on their web site.  I could certainly follow your collective advice and completely uninstall the graphics driver (which unfortunately would my system using generic VGA graphics, completely ruin my desktop display) and then download the driver from the Intel web site, but I sincerely doubt that the outcome would be different.  Returning to the already installed driver seems to have "fixed" the problem with the update.  And I scored the driver Intel "fix" hidden in Windows Update, so that I won't be tempted to install again, since it's apparently a bad solution to a problem not specified.

    For what it's worth, the system in question is a HP Compaq 8200 "CMT", which has a motherboard Intel manufactured with integrated graphics Intel hi-def.  I don't have a graphics component snap.  Graphics drivers who settled on the system worked fine for my needs.

    Intel has released an updated version of this driver in February 2011, which, at that time, caused a wave of reports (many of them in this forum) driver Internet Explorer 9, in break with defects occurring all the same Intel supplied DLL. The driver that came with my system seems to have had this problem.

    If I was smart enough to understand how to report directly to the Intel they gave Microsoft a bad driver, I would, but as the component that is broken by the pilot part of a standard software for Windows 7 from Microsoft, I chose the problem here.  I'm sure that most of the Windows 7 users that could see a similar problem will seek a solution here, and for me, the solution was to return the driver (using the same procedures that were presented as the solution to the previous February 2011 broken Intel HD graphics driver "fix").

    Concluding observations:

    My first name, middle initial and name (for printing in the certificate) have been converted to lowercase, without the possibility to fix this. Personal profile page says I need to contact customer service to fix this. (LOL)

    None of my history of test is transferred. The page says it's 'history of Pearson VIEW tests', so I don't know if that still counts.

    It's a "first registration" moderately painless with a VIEW. Just took a little time and patience.

    Certainly, it feels like screens and traffic were never really completely tested by someone outside the development environment - they 'work', but don't let the taste to have been done by a professional organization with expertise in web-oriented systems. I don't know which will happen in a future release.

    A MAFF file is a ZIP archive, so you should have extract the files in an Archive Manager, if you do not use an extension to handle this type of file.

    I am running view 5.2 and I would switch to 6 reviews. However, for remote connections, we use Juniper SSL. If a computer has the latest version of the Client view, or the 2.x customer, they can not connect to their desktop computer. They receive the message

    View Client is not installed on your computer. You will now be redirected to a location configured by the administrator to download and install the client.

    On the VMware compatibility page, it shows that view 6 is compatible only with customers 2.2, 2.3 and 3.1

    It's funny, my problem is that every old version of the Client works with everything, which means there is no mechanism to direct users to newer versions or restrict which versions can be used to access our environment up-to-date.  So, don't worry about it!  Your users can continue to use any old version of the Client notice (for now) with any version of any OS (OS x or Windows) and will continue to work with any version of Horizon view. (5.0 +).  I do not say that there is no quirks to use older versions of the client here and there, but on a weekly basis, we discover a user with one of the old installed 5.x customers and access our 6.0.1 environment.

    Hoping that with 6.1 VMware will break something!

    I think that you can use pretty much what you want.  We use Netbackup to our operating systems.  Regarding the config of the UCS, we use the built-in functions of UCS Manager to save a copy and then ftp to a server.

  • How do I reinstall the old applications backed up using the backup recovery mgr software

    I fell off my machine after reloading some files of the .NET framework.  Because windows is more loaded, I used the HP recovery discs and made a backup complete both DVD and USB from my hard drive.  Then I went ahead and allow the recovery disk reformat and reload the factory system.  I went to use the recovery to re - install all applications and files, but it only copied all the stuff in a folder on my drive C:\.  IF ten to twelve apps (quicken, genealogy, adobe paintshop & pdf, MS SQL) are not loaded. It seems that my entire system sits in a file folder.  Great if I wanted to only data, but I really want to use applications without reloading everything from scratch.  I found no executable file to start such a reload. I was happy with my machine before the accident, and if I could do a simple recovery from before I installed these files, I would have done it instead of the reformat.  Alas, whatever the back backwards, I went, windows was pretty much DOA.

    I have a HP Pavilion with win7.

    Is it a lost cause?

    The HP Recovery software backup only a specific list of types of data files and the folder they reside in. No programs were backed up, and even if they were, they would not work properly. You will have to reinstall all the software that you previously installed.

    Hello to all, by soluzioni one particular uso con ESXi costo ghettovcb, di solito faccio spegnere prima macchina virtuale e poi una volta salvata riavvio, tutto tramite script.

    Non mi è chiara una cosa, is con ESXi 4.1 I have VMware tools hanno he supporto VSS, it backs up a caldo con ghettoVCB e quindi consistent (is viene abilitata quiescenza dallo script) oppure no?

    Con altri software (Symantec tipo by dirne uno) not if not avendone experience card, very non mi fiderei di ripristinare AD da UN backup di Ghetto o di Trilead. Oltretutto C'e da Attività di restoration if making authority, my this is another topic...

  • Store files and backup at the same time

    Hello!

    We have a very good software measurement work written in LabView. However, we want to save the data files on a regular basis. We want to be able to do this, even during the measurement, and then the software is written in the files. Now, when we try to do, we sometimes face 'error 5 has occurred to replace/create/open file' (in 'write in a spreadsheet file') because another software (backup, windows stuff, otherwise...) accesses the files too. Now my point of view this type of file matching should not be a problem since LV is the only writing software in the files. There are 3 possible solutions that I can think of:

    • delay writing (not possible because you don't know how long to delay, for example how long other software remains open)
    • the data in queue and write on the next test (e.g. https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-7212 - but once again; how long in the queue?)
    • the good thing is; copy the temporary file to change temporary, delete the original and move the temp in this place

    the last should be the right solution and also work on different OS since the copy/move stuff should be atomic operations and therefore safe in this context. However, I have implemented the solution and always have exactly the same problem but now in 'move the file '... I begin to doubt if it is possible to solve this problem at all and so desparatly need help here! I can see it is not lock, or mutex on file and no need to LV generate an error (I think it's done as a warning to future potential conflicts)... I guess that's a few hidden/strange evil documented Windows API 'characteristic' LV uses to detect the other access and it results in a behavior I can't change or fix - up to what to do here...?

    I must correct myself here:

    • TDMS has not help at all - has exactly the same issues
    • only working solution at the moment is (protected) open the file start and keep this refnum open all the time until the program ends: reading and writing in the program can be done as before and ignore this protection refnum (open and close an another if necessary additional refnum) completely OR be implemented smarter and use the same refnum.

    Hope this helps someone else too.

    Using this method, I can now use for example MS robocopy to back up or all the data files in mirror while the LV program written in it. Something very fundamental and important for a recorder...

  • Rescue & backups delete recovery HELP!

    Hi, I have an SL500 and the hard drive was 250 GB, but there are 211 gb available. in any case, I noticed that I was somehow only left out of 211 gb 80 GB. I asked that he was a technician at IBM and at - he said it was my backup of files. now, the drive from my computer q crashed in March of me to try to do something with the back ups and I need a whole new HDD, but my music has been registered via a flash drive.  the tech guy said that I should remove my old back ups. very well, very well. IM do that tonight and it is literally taken hours and right when I click on 'remove' it is not an answer.  I had my computer folder (? I think it's what you call) open so I could see how much space I had, and it DECREASES in fact then I was "suppression" of backups, and yet it was inadmissible. She went from 80 GB to 60 GB. Please help me solve this problem, im shaking for fear of losing my files because I don't want to do it like the last time. I don't know what could be taken from so much space.

    I plan to buy an external hard drive in the next week but please help me, I'm 17 and I'm relics fear of losing my files again and my 19 GB of music.

    Rescue and recovery in your folder of ThinkVantage software creates backups (a full backup and the others are incremental) and stores them on another part of the HARD drive that you will not be able to see just by going to the properties of the C: drive.

    At the opening of the private pictures (clip art) wmf files containg my vista will not show the thumbnail even if the wmf says aid is compatible with vista.  They will not even open in windows photo gallery.  If it is something I have to do in vista to make them open?  I can see fine on XP computers so I have now the files are not currupt.  Any suggestion would be appreciated.  Thank you.

  • Window backup error 0 x 80070057

    Recently, I get the following error message when you try to access or backup using Windows backup.

    "The backup application could not start due to an internal error:

    The parameter is incorrect. (0 x 80070057). »

    I tried the 2 solutions I found on Microsoft support:

    1. check the decimal symbol setting, it was fixed ".»

    2. Add a registry key value.

    None of these fixed the issue.

    I tried to restore my system to a previous point when when my backups worked, but that has not solved the problem either.

    Y at - it a solution or a fix to this problem?

    In nine days, two different alleged "experts" who work for Microsoft have been unable to solve your problem.

    I do not work for Microsoft and suggest ditching the backup/restore of Microsoft in favor of a popular third-party program designed and written by a society that allows their business to backup/restore Windows:

    Think about what you do one day if you need to use your system image to retrieve, then compare what Microsoft has to offer with Macrium has to offer.

    Imagine the process using the tools from Microsoft or a company that specializes in backup/restore software.

    Imagine the support you would get from a company that specializes in the backup/restore software.

    Of course, you get more features in the paid version, but even the free version is superior to everything that Microsoft has to offer (backup/restore is not their business).

    Install and test the free version.  If you don't like it, uninstall it.
