Recommended backup software

Hi all

Nowdays our partners and clients ask us about UCS recommended backup software.

Many of them are concerned about real results for the backup of the UCS solution.

I can't find guides design or use of backup with UCS software cases.

I think we never certified backup for UCS software because it will depend on the OS.

I want to know your experiences for backup with UCS software.

Please comment if you proposed or tested with something.

Kind regards

Keiichi Takagi

I think that you can use pretty much what you want.  We use Netbackup to our operating systems.  Regarding the config of the UCS, we use the built-in functions of UCS Manager to save a copy and then ftp to a server.

  • TOSHIBA HDD STOR. E partner 750Go PA4280E - 1 HG 5 - problem with the backup software

    Hello everyone

I recently bought an external hard drive TOSHIBA HDD STOR. E partner 750Go (PA4280E - 5 1HG) with preinstalled backup software Nero BackItUp & Essentials. Unfortunately the software does not work. When I double-click on it to start it, it starts to extract, but after a growth of 10%, there is an error message saying something like "data error".

How can I get the software? Or where can I get new software that works?

Thanks in advance for your help

  • How to lock a folder and at the same time enable backup software to access?

    Hello.
We have 10 systems in our office and an additional computer that acts as a backup server for the important files and folders. However, due to security issues, we want the whole (the inside which are backups) must be locked down and only accessible by providing authentication (e.g. a password). but the problem is that if I block the folder, the backup software may not work.
Is there a way around this so that whenever anyone attempts to access a file/folder from the server, it will have to enter a password (remember that it is access to the its system which is connected through lan server) and the same brand of time the work of backup software?

  • Windows backup software

Hello Microsoft community, I hope someone has a good lead (messages passed were VERY successful).

We must save 15-20 at our Office Windows users and wish to change a fileshare on local network.

The backup native & restoration, although correct, is really became limited as soon as we had Win8 users with the history of the files.

Search online for Windows backup solutions, it has been difficult to find a solid solution. Acronis kept coming and we end up buying licenses, but since before had at least 50% of users have problems with the backup software runs slowly and failing (so clearly that a lot of comments is not written by those in the field).

Long story short, we are looking for one customer stand-alone software that is the most important yet STABLE/RELIABLE but of course must be effective space (which means, respect deadlines for detention space and support disc).

We simply do not want Explorer Azure as we kept within our network instead of the cloud backups. Also, we do not want to install a backup server, once again, we want a stand-alone product which is stable in Win7/Win7/Win10 and beyond. Thanks in advance!

  • Files zip backup gave 'temp' defeats attribute set, backup software

    Hello world

I do regular backups of my Lightroom Catalog. I also have my backup catalogue included in the backup of my system. However, when Lightroom creates a backup of the catalog, the zip 'temp' attribute is defined. It's quite understandable, some (including mine) backup software will ignore files with the attribute set temp for the Catalog backup is not saved. See the 'T' in the column 'Attributes' in the screenshot below:

Note that Windows displays normally all attributes. You must explicitly add the column for the display as shown above.

I use 10 Windows on a PC with the latest 64-bit LR. I consider that this is a bug in the LR backup. The backup files are not temporary! I'm posting here hoping that Adobe's technical team will recognize and correct this problem.

    Thanks for reading,

    Brian

  • How can I backup software Photoshop CS6 downloaded onto a DVD?

I downloaded Photoshop CS6 on my Mac.  How can I create a DVD of backup software for the future?  I know that this is possible, but I want to be sure that I have all the parts needed in case I need to reinstall the software after that CS6 is no longer supported.

    Adobe wrote:

Important: Back up your software uploaded to support offline, such as a DVD player or network. With a backup, you ongoing access to your software if it is not available on Adobe.com.

But... it tell me how to back up.  I certainly know how to back up files, but if it is missing something, and I get a new computer, I'm sunk.  Thanks for your help.

Adobe us to buy a DVD of the program among them if you download it?  One of my friends had this option when buying, but I don't have the opportunity for some reason any...

You have downloaded the software, I guess.  Just to the top of the files that you have downloaded, and that's all you need.

Or have you downloaded using an Adobe Download Manager?  In this case it is not clear what are the files to back up.

In this case I download the http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.html Installer and save this unique Setup file.

Make sure that you follow the very important Instructions before proceeding with the actual download.

  • VCB on the same servers as backup software

Is it possible to run VCB on the same server as your backup server? I don't want suppliers to backup VMware plugin/remote agent, but the support of backup real server software?

I would like to use an existing backup server which backup servers via the traditional agent installed on the server/vm and use VCB just to copy VM images on the local storage of backup server. I won't go on the virtual computer images using the backup of backup software.

You can... I believe that you use vcbmount to take a snapshot and mount the virtual drive, then its another comand to export data

VMware has a paper on VCB commands.  I'm not sure of the exact commands... I use the framework vcb on my server (running BE12.5) backup... BE using the vcb to create the snapshot, mount the drive, throw on local storage and then unmount the virtual disk, remove the snapshot, and then save the disk exported to bands...

  • VMWare backup software for funky VM with OS customers

    Hey there,

I'm still new to this free version of VM Server and I wonder if someone as gone through this before:

My business takes 3 new servers/Applications which they will copy of virtual computer Images and we will import it onto a new server VM 2.0 host. These applications are: Linux, Open source, and another funky OS that I've never dealt with before. Such, ideas of backups are once a week, stop the virtual machines and save them as flat files or buy backup of virtual machine software (very little probable that I said). I prefer the option of backup of virtual machine and run every day, but with costs are the big problem at the moment, can anyone recommend another option for backup everyday live, these virtual machines?

    Thank you

You could build a script than for vm snapshots, copy the base vmdk and then commits the snapshot.  Once copied to a shared location you can dump on tape no matter.  If you create the script and run as long as a cron job, you could reach a full vmdk backup every day.

  • Time Machine failed backup. What are alternative backup software?

A MBP with 1 TB HD could not continue the Time Machine backup, after update OS X to El Capitan 10.11.6. Old backups TM are automatically removed because of the error checking. The MBP also failed to make a new backup TM.

I guess I maybe need a reinstallation of the OS X. How is it safe to reinstall OS X 10.11.6 without a backup?  Any suggestion of a software disk cloning? (e.g. copy of carbon can make a clone of disc? How do I?)

You should check the drive you used for Time Machine backups with disk utility > first aid to make sure that the disc is not serious. If you mean Carbon Copy clone, yes it can create clones. Instructions to create a clone are provided with the program.

  • Satellite A660 - imaging the HARD disc using backup software

I have an A660. I decided to do a system backup wholw with acronis image home for an emergency. My Quesntion is how are reserved windows make a picture of the toshiba backup partition?

If I save all 3 partitions above I can restore them individually in case of need arise or I need to get all 3 drives together?

I just support gelt upward the C drive will no longer Toshiba as its own MBR wrote. I don't mind also save the recovery tohsiba partition too much like its much faster than recovery DVDs.

    Please notify

    Hey,.

I would recommend a full backup of all partitions. Toshiba recovery partition doesn't need a lot of disk space and recovery environment partition Windows is required, as far as I know, but there are also less disk space.

With a backup complete all partitions, you are on the safe side and so you can ensure that you have the same settings after doing this.

In addition if you want to restore the image, Acronis will ask you what you want to restore partitions. So it s always a good idea to make a backup of all partitions.
