View the ASA 5540 framework

I have a question about ASA on the GUI, I have the choice to choose the framework which I wish to see. I have 2 one called mgmt and the other admin one. When I ssh into the asa all I can see is the context view admin how to look at the configuration of the display of the mgmt context?

Warren,

To implement a different context than the context admin you simply have to changeto context followed by the name of context mgmt which is your another context.

e.i

context of ASA #changeto

Go to this link which explains how to navigate between context through the command line.

See section change between contexts and space of system performance

    Maximum connection profiles

The maximum number of connection profiles (tunnel groups) that can support a safety device is a function of the maximum number of concurrent sessions of VPN for the + 5 platform. For example, an ASA5505 can support a maximum of 25 concurrent sessions of VPN to 30 tunnel groups (25 + 5). Attempt to add a group of additional tunnel beyond the results of limit in the following message: "ERROR: the limit of 30 groups configured tunnel has been reached.

  • ASA 5540 - cannot ping inside the interface

Hi all. We have recently upgraded PIX to ASA5540 and we saw a strange thing going. In a Word, we can ping the inside interface of the ASA from any beach on our 6500 network (which is connected directly behind the ASA on the inside), but one where our monitoring tools are placed. Inside there is an ACL that allows all of our core networks, but it does not help that the interface is really strange.

In the ASDM, I see messages like this:

ID ICMP echo request: 2004 x.x.x.x y.y.y.y on the inside interface to. I don't think that's the problem, but I could be wrong.

This is also the configuration of the interface VLAN VIRTUAL local area network from which we cannot ping inside the interface we can ping to and since this VLAN and machines without problem. The only problem is ping the inside interface of the ASA.

  • VPN Cisco ASA 5540 L2L - one-way traffic only for the pair to a network

    Hello

I'm a little confused as to which is the problem. This is the premise for the problem I have face.

One of our big clients has a Cisco ASA5540 (8.2 (2)) failover (active / standby). Early last year, we have configured a VPN from Lan to Lan to a 3rd party site (a device of control point on their end). He worked until early this week when suddenly the connection problems.

Only 1 of the 3 networks the / guests can access a remote network on the other side. 2 others have suddenly stopped working. We do not know of any change on our side and the remote end also insists that their end configurations are correct (and what information they sent me it seems to be correct)

So essentially the encryption field is configured as follows:

    access-list line 1 permit extended ip 10.238.57.21 host 10.82.0.202 (hitcnt = 2)
    access-list line 2 extended permit ip 10.207.0.0 255.255.0.0 10.82.0.200 255.255.255.252 (hitcnt = 198)
    access-list line 3 extended permit ip 10.231.191.0 255.255.255.0 10.82.0.200 255.255.255.252 (hitcnt = 173)

Free NAT has been configured as follows (names modified interfaces):

NAT (interface1) 0-list of access to the INTERIOR-VPN-SHEEP

    the INTERIOR-VPN-SHEEP line 1 permit access list extended ip 10.231.191.0 255.255.255.0 10.82.0.200 255.255.255.252
    permit for Access-list SHEEP-VPN-INSIDE line lengthened 2 ip host 10.238.57.21 10.82.0.202

    NAT (interface2) 0-list of access VPN-SHEEP

    VPN-SHEEP line 1 permit access list extended ip 10.207.0.0 255.255.0.0 10.82.0.200 255.255.255.252

After the problem started only 10.207.0.0/16 network connections worked for the site remote 10.82.0.200/30. All other connections do not work.

There has been no change made on our side and on the side remote also insists there has been no change. I also checked how long the ASAs have been upward and how long the same device has been active in the failover. Both have been at the same time (about a year)

The main problem is that users of the 10.231.191.0/24 cant access remote network network. However, the remote user can initiate and implement the VPN on their side but usually get any return traffic. Ive also checked that the routes are configured correctly in the routers in core for the return of their connections traffic should go back to the firewall.

Also used of "packet - trace" event raising the VPN tunnel (even if it passes the phases VPN). For my understanding "packet - trace" alone with the IP source and destination addresses must activate the VPN connection (even if it generates no traffic to the current tunnel).

This is printing to the following command: "packet - trace entry interface1 tcp 10.231.191.100 1025 10.82.0.203 80.

So, basically, the connection should properly go to connect VPN L2L but yet is not. I tried to generate customer traffic of base (with the source IP address of the client network and I see the connection on the firewall, but yet there is absolutely no encapsulated packets when I check "crypto ipsec to show his" regarding this connection VPN L2L.) Its almost as if the firewall only transfers the packets on the external interface instead of encapsulating for VPN?

And as I said, at the same time the remote end can activate the connection between these 2 networks very well, but just won't get any traffic back to their echo ICMP messages.

If it was just a routing problem it would be a simple thing to fix, but it is not because I can see the connection I have to confirm it by the router base on the firewall, but they don't just get passed on to the VPN connection.

Could this happen due to a bug in the Software ASA? Would this be something with Checkpoint VPN device? (I have absolutely no experience with devices of control point)

If there is any essential information that I can give, please ask.

    Jouni,

8.2.4.1 is the minimum - 8.2.4 had some issues (including TCP proxy).

If this does not resolve the problem - I suggest open TAC box to get to the bottom of this ;-)

  • WRVS4400N ASA 5540 L2L IPSec connection

I have a remote WRVS4400N with a dynamic outside the address that opens a connection to an ASA 5540 with a static address.

I'm all set on the side of the ASA.  My questions concern the 4400N.  It does not seem to have a very robust configuration/configuration available for L2L tunnels.  For one my encryption is limited to 3DES.

But I wonder if I'm missing something in the config.  I have to configure L2L tunnels to two other firewalls.  One firewall has 3 non-contiguous networks, and the other has 2.  I have 5 tunnels configuration, this is the only way?  What I'd like to see is 2 tunnels, one for each firewall distance, but then each tunnel would have access to networks (like on the side of the ASA), is anyway to do this?  Perhaps a useful command line for this unit?

My other question concerns the tunnel-groups I've implemented on my ASA, and I do not want to use the proper names... However I can't seem to find a way to allow this to happen on the side of 4400N... I mean, I need a way to create a 'keyword' identifier or a "firewall identifier" on the 4400N and I do not see an appropriate field in the web interface.  Someone at - it ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi WS, the WRVS router does not support a complete tunnel configuration or routes to have a multi site configuration. You would need a separate tunnel for each location.

Traditionally, the WRVS router was not a good game on any platform ASA. In most cases, I saw when a tunnel has put in place will be the router WRVS crash in an hour or less due to low memory. If you run a scenario where the WRVS stops responding or the tunnel down, this is the likely scenario.

I highly recommend is not to use the WRVS router for all tunnel with the ASA. If you are looking to stay in the field of small business, a RV220W or a RV042 router would be a much more suitable match.

  • ASA 5540 Stateful failover routing errors

    Hello

Having two 5540's configuration in a failover scenario. Make the LAN failover and failover state. * See attachment *.

Failover LAN use 192.168.2.1 as active and 192.168.2.2 as before, with the subnet mask of 30. On both LAN failover use G0/2 and there is a crossover cable connecting them.

The failover of the State uses 192.168.3.1 as active and 192.168.3.2 as before, with the subnet mask of 30. With "enable HTTP replication" checked in ASDM. On both devices State failover uses G0/3 and there is a crossover cable connecting them.

The ASDM syslog connects errors every 10 seconds or so to say that:

    SOURCE IP ADDRESS: 192.168.3.1

    DESTINATION IP: 192.168.3.2

    Description:

"Routing could not locate the next hop for igrp NP identity 192.168.3.1/0 in statefull:192.168.3.2/0".

The ASA use static routes to meet the network, these roads, there are two, and both are in the 10.x.x.x network. No routing protocol is in use.

I don't know why these errors are "spamming" my syslog and would like to get rid of them.

Glad to hear that it works, that's the most important thing. I don't mean to preach, but Cisco does not recommend using ADJUSTABLE wires to fail on. Devices cannot always say that the captain should be and usually causes questions more than a simple link to the bottom.

  • ASA - 5540 used for IPSec VPN only - I can do away with Nat 0?

I'll use an ASA 5540 as our head of VPN endpoint only - and not as a firewall.

Also, we have a class for our company internal address space routable B address, so we don't need NAT. I would like to disable the function NAT 0 if I can so I always add NAT 0 to ensure that the 5540 does not NAT.

Y at - it an easy way to disable the need using NAT 0?

Are there any of the draw to do that?

You can disable the use of nat 0 disabling the nat control.

To achieve this, go to the global configuration mode and use this command:

    no nat control

To check whether you have it turned on, you can check it with:

    SH run nat-control

    See you soon!

On the ASA of ROC-ASA5540-B, you have "isakmp allows inside", it should be "enable isakmp outside."

Please reconfigure the ASA and let me know how it goes.

  • The ASA for FW and IPS options with high availability

    Question 1:

    -----------

    I'm looking for IPS solution for the customer and the verification of the ASA next part number;

    ASA5540-AIP20-K9

    (ASA 5540 appliance w / AIP-SSM-20, SW, HA, 4GE + 1FE, 3DES/AES)

What does AP mean here - what software?

In this case you have to buy a second unit (at the same price) for the recovery of?

(I wondered if ASA has also a cost - efficient as PIX failover solution-discounted price for the unit of failover).

If I choose the ASA VPN edition is it possible to add IPS inside module?

    Hello

Q: what does AP means here - what software? In this case you have to buy a second unit (at the same price) for the recovery of?

The "ASA5540-AIP20-K9" is only for 1 unit of ASA, with function of software HA (active/active, active / standby). You can add/buy another unit to achieve HA/recundancy.

I think that the price of a unit all them is always the same, ASA has no unit to voluntarily make the function FO.

Q: if I choose the ASA VPN edition is it possible to add IPS inside module?

Large malicious Intrusion Prevention & mitigation program is included, as mentioned in the 'picture' 3 Security of the network to the VPN gateway"in:

  • With the help of text and buttons movieclips as buttons to point to the same layered framework?

I'll have a terrible time with the 3.0 AS and animating CC 2015.2 in this project.  I was given a suggestion, but now I'm so confused output errors that I hope to get answers from you advanced people.

The project is similar to this:

Identify the Structure of the trees

Framework 1 - nothing selected, visible instructions

Frame 2 - Select sheets by clicking on the image (tree top or bottom) or text, leaves description becomes visible

Frame 3 - branches select by clicking on the image (tree top or bottom) or text, description branches becomes visible

Frame 4 - trunk select by clicking on the image (tree top or bottom) or text, description of trunk becomes visible

    Suggestion is:

Do the video clip of each region of image tree and drop it on the layer smaller on top with alpha 0%

Create a badge of the clip, and then tap on timeline with each framework has put in evidence and description

Make the text button, then tap chronology framework with each has put in evidence and description

Trunk frame – more small area place top layer

Branches Frame - smaller than the leaves but superior to the place of the trunk between the two

Framework of leaves - most square of the area on the layer under the Branches

    Can anyone offer any suggestions?  I used to program 5.5 Flash with Actionscript 2.0, but difficulties with Animate and Actionscript 3.0.  I don't know if I have to use swaps or specific images, but when viewing, he travels all frames without stopping even if each image as the AS command stop ();

    Thanks in advance!

    Rick

Yes, if your buttons or movieclips, overlap one on top Gets the default click event. So, if you decide to create separate movieClips or separate buttons, be sure to give everyone an exclusive space.

One approach I've used in the past for such things is to open the work, the tree in Photoshop then "cut" art into segments and put each segment in a different layer in Photoshop. Then you can import that art directly in to animate and each layer will import under a separate post. Then you can combine them into a movieClip to a work of art on the stage. From there, you can select each segment and each a movieClip or button you want.

  • someone at - it else troubled hd with grid reference with indesign cc 2015? even when I go to view the baseline grid I can't see from my document

anyone else had problems with the grid with indesign cc 2015? even when I go to view the baseline grid I can't see from my document

Grids do not show in preview or overview of the overlay modes and may be hidden by a full framework used as a background. If it is none of these, it could be the threshold value of zoom - the grid appears if you zoom in?

  • How to view the queue up next with the new IOS 10?

I made the mistake to get the iPhone 7 which still has the update ios 10 (update worse!) and I don't know how to do something! I managed to find out how to add songs to my next up but I have no way to see them or rearrange them. If someone knows how to see, I'd highly appreciate management!
