VIPRE compatibility w/Vista & 7
Is Vipre compatible w/Viata & 7. Microsoft Security Ctr it lists asa '?
Hello
Best is to check with the support of Vipre and their forums.
http://www.vipreantivirus.com/
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's what I use and recommend: (these are all free and very effective versions.)
Avast and Prevx proved extremely reliable and compatible with all I have
launched on them. Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx have also proven to be very
reliable and compatible. Use MSE or Avast and Prevx, Prevx 3 but not all.
Avast Home free - stop any shields is not necessary except leaving Standard, Web, and
Operation of the network.
Prevx - Home - free
Windows Firewall
Windows Defender (is not necessary if you use MSE)
Protected IE - mode
IE 8 - SmartScreen filter WE (IE 7 phishing filter)
I also IE always start with asset if filter InPrivate IE 8.
(It may temporarily turn off with the little icon to the left of the + bottom
right of IE)
Two versions of Avast are available 5.x and 4.8 x
Avast - home - free - 5.x stop shields you do not use (except files, Web, network, &)
Shields of behavior) - double click on the icon in the Notification area - real time Orange - click on the
Shield that you want to stop - STOP. To stop the Orange icon to show an error indicator-
Click on the Orange icon - top right - settings - click on the status bar - uncheck shields you
disabled - click OK
http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download
Avast 4.8 x - home - free - stop shields, you don't need except leaving Standard, Web,.
and the network running. (Double-click the blue icon - look OK. - upper left - Shields details
Finish those you don't use).
http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download#TAB4
Or use Microsoft Security Essentials - free
http://www.Microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/
Prevx works well alongside MSE or Avast
Prevx - home - free small, fast, exceptional protection CLOUD, working with other security
programs. It is a single scanner, VERY EFFICIENT, if it finds something come back here
or use Google to see how to remove.
http://www.prevx.com/ <-->-->
http://info.prevx.com/downloadcsi.asp <-->-->
PCmag - Prevx - Editor's choice
http://www.PCMag.com/Article2/0, 2817,2346862,00.asp
Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever think malware and that
would be unusual with Avast and occasional Prevx running with the exception of a low level cookie
(not much), to UPDATE and then run it as a scanner. I have a lot of scanners and they
never find anything of note that I started to use this configuration.
I hope this helps and happy holidays!

SUDDEN STRIKE ANTHOLOGY COMPATIBILITY WITH VISTA
SUDDEN STRIKE ANTHOLOGY IS COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS 98, 2000 AND XP... BUT I BELIEVE THAT IT IS POSSIBLE TO USE WITH VISTA IF YOU CHANGE THE SETTINGS ON THE COMPUTER... ANYONE KNOW HOW THIS IS FACT... THANKING YOU.
Hello.
The only setting I can think of that might help you right now is to run the game in compatibility mode of Windows XP.
This is done by clicking on the game launcher icon and choosing Properties. Then go to the Compatibility tab and make sure that the "run this program in compatibility mode for:" is checked and that Windows XP (Service Pack 2) is the option chosen in the list of modes.

Compatibility of Vista SP2 to AVIRA Antivir Personal AV9?
After you install SP2 on Vista Home Basic, verification of the complete system by the module Luke Filewalker AV9: AVIRA Antivirus program cannot be executed.
The system check is started but not, ends as the system hangs with a "blue screen" displayed. The system must be forced off and rebooted to normal operation. If the module as Luke Filewalker is initialized again, the same occurrence.repeats.
Is that what the AV9 or the Luke Filewalker incompatible with Vista SP2?Thank you for the translation and explanation.

Airport Extreme compatibility with Vista
I have a laptop HP Vista Home Premium 32-bit running, and it will not connect to my Airport Extreme router. I have a XP computer that connects very well. When I disable WPA security on my network, the Vista computer connects and when I activate WPA it will not identify the network.
The XP system uses WPA? Does Airport Extreme support WPA? (I imagine for this). Have you tried to use WEP, despite what is less secure than WPA? Have you tried to enter the WPA authentication information in the network connection on the Vista system? Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]

Microsoft Intellipoint 4.1 compatibility with Vista
I've had this mouse works with help from someone on this forum last year, but due to a storm or something that I had to have a system restore and in this restoration, I can't get the mouse working. I really need this mouse to work because of a physical proplem with my hands. Please, help me make it work again.
Hi kstater,
When a device is not functioning, Device Manager also typically displays an error message with an error code that comes with it. First, search for errors in the Manager of devices to do this, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Search for any displayed error message
1 key on the keypad (start) to hit windows > type devmgmt.msc and press ENTER to open the Device Manager.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
2. in Device Manager, locate mice and other pointing devices and her then press enter on the device name.
3. If an error code has been generated, the code appears in the status box of the device under the general tab.
Please provide the error message that appears
Step 2: Download and install the latest software for the mouse

Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Racing Wheel - Vista and Win7 compatibility
I just bought a good condition Sidewinder Precision Racing Wheel from eBay. I didn't know he was as old as it is and I wanted to know if drivers exist that will offer all the features for the wheel. I saw messages in various forums of 2007 saying that no driver is for Vista which will offer all the features. Posts here I have a problem with the default Vista driver who has the throttle to 100% all the time - is not ideal.
Having just bought a Dell computer with a free upgrade to Win7, I just saw this
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Details.aspx?type=Hardware&p=Microsoft%20SideWinder%20Force%20Feedback%20Wheel%20Game%20Controller&v=Microsoft&uid=A16-00041&pf=0&pi=9&c=Mice%2C%20Keyboards%20%26%20Input%20Devices&sc=Game%20Controllers&os=32-bit
say that this material is taken in charge, but when you follow the link to the software in is not what needs to be downloaded. It say that it is supported under Win7 makes me hope that driver for Vista situation has been resolved, but I see no mention of those on the web.Anyone can shed some light on this?

Hi, my OS is Windows Vista Home Edition 32 bit Service Pack 2 - installed on XP by the owner without first unintalling XP. Although my Device Manager lists the mini-map Dell Wireless WLAN 1395 as working properly, what Windows says that it has stopped working correctly because the driver installed is not compatible with my current operating system (just one of the many questions). Although I can get online wireless most of the time, IE and Google Chrome often freeze and there are a few minutes, I got a blue screen - not for the first time - that shut down Windows. I note the other error message information that a fatal error has occurred that required Windows stops, so am not sure that the two problems are related or not. I tried to find a compatible driver for what I assume is a WLAN Mini card for the original XP OS on the compatibility of Vista site, but there is no driver is listed for the Dell Wireless WLAN mini-map 1395.
I have the Vista installation CD, but not the verification code necessary to reinstall. It will appear somewhere on this computer under the program or the ancillary system (information) available to administrators?
Just out of curiosity, there is a feature of rectangular white USB printed with the name "Biogear" attached to one of my ports, although he is not listed among devices on my computer since the computer laptop original owner died and I can not ask what is its purpose or what program it was meant to facilitate. I tried to remove it and it came out (the envelope detached the part inserted into the USB port) without affecting my ability to access the Internet wireless. An internet search has a line of golf apparel and a few articles in German... Any ideas? Thanks, Lara
If the original owner installed Vista on XP, you need to reformat and do a fresh install of Vista or you will continually have problems multipling. If the original owner is an update from XP to Vista it is OK. However, the problems that you're seen suggest the original owner installed Vista on XP. Verification code (if found on the computer) will not be for Vista but for XP. As long as your operating system is installed, you can retrieve the key with Free Key finder software, do a search and you will find them on the internet. Also if you have the CD and ask for a new key to Microsoft you will get it at a very low price, I don't know no current tax, was $ $10,00. Since you are not the original owner (and the first owner died) both of these options may not be totally legal, unless you can provide proof of purchase or the person deseased was a member of the family.
