virtual 64 bit machines

Hello is it possible on esx host 3.5 a 64 bit os?

It seems that the simulated hardware is 32-bit

what you it so if one migrates with converter United Nations 2003 64-bit

Yes, on can run a 64 bit OS. The material is seen as 32 or 64 bits depending on the need.

Pour the little story, I managed to install HYPER-V, that is to say...

  • Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 & virtual 64-bit machines

    Hello

I have a machine that has the processor Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 I know supports VT - X.

I am running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and have VMware PLayer installed. I have 64 bit VM, mainly linux (Suse and Fedora) that work perfectly on a Dell laptop with an i5 processor, however when I run them on the E6400 processor I get error which is about 64-Bit support and LongMode.

I've verified that this processor VT - X support so am not sure why it does not work?

I also checked with the tool of processor 64-bit and which confirms that the processor is capable of running 64-bit guests so not sure what is the problem.

There is no parameters with the firmware that control VT - X, so I'm a bit stuck regarding this.

Any ideas would be very appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Dave

There is no parameters with the firmware that control the VT - X

Often this parameter is bit "hidden" in the security settings of the BIOS. You can also check if a newer BIOS is available that allows this parameter, where you can't find it.

  • Running a program designed for x 32 bit machine Windows XP x 64

    Hello

I try to run a program designed for Windows 32-bit on a 64 bit machine x x. I installed the program and moved the directories in the directory Program Files (x 64) in the regular Program Files directory - it's where shortcuts have been pointing.

When I run the program I get an error message "" an unhandled win32 exception occurred in "PROGRAM NAME" ". Is there a way I can run this program on this machine?

    Good reading this forum:

    http://www.SevenForums.com/virtualization/11173-Windows-XP-32-bit-Windows-7-64-bit-OS.html

If it takes you get launched, you can probably get a 32-bit virtual machine running.

  • 32-bit programs, 64-bit machines

I have some old DOS programs of 32 bits, especially in Qbasic.  They do not work on my 64-bit machines and I hope not to have to rewrite in a newer format.  Any suggestions?

QBASIC will not work in 64-bit, but you may be able to run a virtual machine XP (32 bit) in XP mode, if your hardware supports.

  • Network Drive will not refresh, I use 2 machines to Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and 1 Windows 7 Professional 32-bit machine on a wired Ethernet network.

I use 2 machines to Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and 1 Windows 7 Professional 32-bit machine on a wired Ethernet network.

The network works fine with one question. When I add a new file on the same machine and try to access this new folder from another machine the new folder does not appear. I have to disconnect the network drive of the machine with the new folder, and then map a new drive. When I map the new drive the new folder appears in Windows Explorer on the second machine.

It's very frustrating when I want to add a file attachment to e-mail from another machine and it does not appear until I disconnect and re - map the drive.

I hope this all make sense. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem? I don't remember this problem when my network was XP Pro machines.

    Thanks for your help.

    Thank you for your help.

The I work around this problem is to do step 1 and step two, as you suggest.  I haven't restarted the computer though - I will also try it.  I have also not tell abled my ESET NOD32 Antivirus software either - I'll try that too.
The network drive I'm seeing 'change' on does not refresh by itself, when I press F5 or go to view/update.
Search Google indicates that this refreshing a network drive issue to show a newly created folder, etc. is a long time, Windows 7 problem.
I would like your ideas on the potential problem of Windows 7 found on Google.
    Thanks again for your help.

Just DLd CD player. Now, nothing will be printed. I also get error app for Windows (0xc0000022) whenever I start CD player. I uodated download of the last update and tried an auto repair. Using Win 7 Pro 64 bit machine. I tried several printers and I can test printing from other applications such as Outlook and Wordpad.

None of this has worked. I have to get rid of the error (0 x 000022) and he got good printing. I did clean the Adobe Reader DC machine, reinstalled drive XI 11.0.10 and in the preferences to disabled Adobe protected in Security (Enhanced) Mode and set "view documents I have PDF/A mode" forever in the Documents tab...

It seems that each player version as it becomes more complex (with the "features enhanced security") gets more unstable.

I'll try Adobe Reader DC when I eventually have to WIN 10 which is never if all goes well.

  • Installation of CF-8 32 bit on 64-bit machine

    Hello

We intend to upgrade our server to test and to do this, we planned on buying a 64-bit hardware from Dell running Windows 2008 x 64 Web edition.

However, for now, we want to continue to use 32-bit CF 8. Is there something to make us stop, or does move to the 64 bit CF? Or someone had problems running CF 32-bit on Windows 64-bit?

    Thanks in advance.

  • CONFIGURATION PROBLEMS EPMA 11.1.1.3 WITH WEBLOGIC IN 64-BIT MACHINE

    Hi all

I've installed several times the same version in the 32-bit machines. but this time the s challenge to install in 64-bit computer. facility is been donebut while trying to configure with weblogic9.2(64bit) I found a lot of questions. could someone help on this issue.

    our environment is:

    Oracle 10g (32-bit)
    WebLogic server (64-bit)
    11.1.1.3 e.m.p. (64-bit)

I knew that the end to end process dnt work with 32 bits, but I know that I shud perform all other things I need to do more to satisfy things a little pre conditions required in 64-bit computer.

Please tell me the steps I have to follow. n the sequence of configuration steps also.

    Concerning

Personally, I'd install the 32-bit version of weblogic JVM unless you want to go the route of manual deployment, but the choice is yours.
If I installed just EA on a server and no other products not based web application server then I would go to the bottom of the 64-bit road.

You can install a command line jar file using

    java-jar enter_filename_here.jar

  • problem of machine virtual 64-bit

    Hello

In my company, we have 3 HP Elitebook 8560w with Windows 7 Enterprise installed.

We installed Vmware workstation and you have installed Ubuntu 32-bit and 64-bit virtual machines.

The 64-bit virtual machine however gives a problem.

Sometimes it will start, sometimes not. I downloaded the havdetectiontool.exe from the microsoft site. After a system restart the diagnosis of the tool is the first image below.

Now you will probably tell me that I need to enable something in the bios, but what happens if I force the HP to sleep and then wake up again. After you run the tool now, look at what he says (2nd image). The virtual machine will now start very well.

The version of the BIOS on this computer is HP 68SVD worm F.22, 05.01.2012.

Question is: is this a bios issue or what?

I solved it. Somehow the sleep of the PC feature sometimes allows virtualization, wrong leads us to believe that nothing was to be done in the BIOS.

The "Virtualization Technology" checkbox is turned off in the BIOS on HP computers apparently by default. Somehow the 32-bit Virtual Machines are not affected by this piece, but 64-bit VMS are :-)

  • Machine virtual 32-bit on 64-bit host

I moved a windows 2003 32-bit computer to a 64-bit host. I would like to upgrade the virtual machine to Windows 2008 R2, is anyway that I can do the virtual machine 64-bit?

The host is running ESXi 5.

    Hello

Not a limitation of vmware as such in this case, rather a cross-microsoft architecture upgrades are not supported

    See - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd979563(v=ws.10).aspx

This would be the case with any hypervisor
