Virtual BigDataLite Appliance confirmation of Oracle

I'm trying to follow the instructions for installation of the

Oracle BigDataLite Virtual Appliance

Oracle BigDataLite Virtual Machine

I am running VirtualBox 4.3.6

7-zip 9.2

Running on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 SP1 with AMD FX 8120 with 16 GB (a stock aspire M3450)

And there seems to be a break in the PDF file for the quickdeploy, as if in the rush to create the document to deploy quickly something has been left out, or the process has not been tested before posting for download

Specifically: from the PDF file

After that all the zip files are uploaded, check out them with 7zip.

In Windows:

Right click on the file BigDataLite - xxx.zip.001, and select 7-zip-> extract here

The extraction will create the file device BigDataLite - xxx.ova.

Well the above is NOT past

First of all, the files are named as OTN

BigDataLite - 2.4.1.001

BigDataLite - 2.4.1.002

BigDataLite - 2.4.1.003

BigDataLite - 2.4.1.004

BigDataLite - 2.4.1.005

BigDataLite - 2.4.1.006

Not like the naming convention of names in the PDF documentation that requires one. zip.001 extension

Can someone run a confirmation that an egg file can be created?

Just to close my comment...

My problem turned out to be that I had missed the 6th zip file download (and the smallest).  I don't know how it happened - perhaps IE has a limit on how many downloads can at any time - or maybe I just don't not clicked the link properly, or whatever...

Matter - as soon as the download file 6 was placed in the same directory as the other 5, my snippet from the 001 file progressed successfully.  I hope this can help someone else in the future facing the same issue.

  • Preparation of deep security virtual ESXi Appliance

    Hello

I'm not sure that this is the best place to ask this question. But, I tried to install the Virtual Appliance of deep security, but when I try to prepare the ESXi in deep Security Manager (Deep Security Manager is a VM virtualized in my computer) I get the following error: "unable to download .zip bundle in offline mode. Ensure that the ESX Server can connect to XXXXXXXXX on port 4119. "I turned off the Windows Firewall on the virtual machine and the physical machine that hosts it. Someone has already worked with deep security? No idea how I can fix this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

You should also ensure that the ESX Server can communicate with the deep Security Manager. During the process of preparation, the DSM gives the vCenter a temporary URL for the filter driver. vCenter then passes this information to the ESX Server that is responsible for downloading the driver himself.

Ping the DSM of the ESX command line and see if you can get there by train.

It is more a question of coherence, rather than starting a new thread.

But the acronym/abbreviation that will be used for the Web Cisco Security Appliance.  I saw vWSA and WSAv.  I would like just a bit of clarity, for reviewing products with my management.

According to the official Cisco Data Sheet for Web Security Appliance below:

It's using WSAv, then maybe go with it.

We have a Windows external Vcenter 5.1 with an oracle database server. We would like to upgrade to an appliance Vcenter virtual v6 with an external oracle database. I was not able to find much info on this since most posts and blogs are based or sql.

Is it as simple as deploying a new installation of a Vcenter virtuall device v6 and then connect it with our database current oracle and move virtual machines and turn from the old Server 5.1?

    Welcome to the community,

You can not skip vcenter windows 5.1 with oracle external to the appliance database virtual 6. You can improve windows vcenter 5.1 with oracle database external to vCenter windows 6.0 with external oracle database.

From now officially VMware does not support migration from Windows to vCSA. But it is adventure, you can explore more

  • Is there a mechanism to prevent the Virtual Appliances Cisco to be cloned or exported in the form of the OVF/EGGS?

I am very confused why Cisco has no mechanism to prevent its virtual appliances are cloned or copied, for example I can install ACS 5.6, buy a license and deploy it, then I can export the virtual as appliance and the OVA file and deploy it elsewhere in other licenses without the need to buy another license, after the deployment of file EGGS I can even change the IP address , Default Gateway, NTP server or any settings that I want but license is valid in steel...

    Why the hell is happening?

Not a bug, it's how ACS works now, it's your ethical standards if you break this system of 'trust' that Cisco has implemented. It is actually as most of the Cisco product was working at the time, and some products are back for this model (ASA APEX ex.)

  • Access to Oracle Press VirtualBox virtual host

    Hello

I have a windows host system 8, install the Virtual Box last edition.

The guest operating system is Linux oracle that came with the selection of pre-designed developer programs Oracle's VM.

The virtual machine is set to HOST ONLY the network settings.

Now, the thing is I want to access the Oracle in the guest from my windows host computer.

the guest operating system indicates the IP 192.168.56.101. I can ping the IP address of the HOST machine, but cannot connect to the

Developer SQL to oracle in the guest to the host OS. He goes on to say that impossible to connect the network card.

Please I need help, now please do not say that to install the oracle in the window itself. In fact, I want to do the same on my macbook pro since it is my main machine.

    Hello guys,.

Thanks for the responses you provided really appreciate it.

I made this connection and access between the host and the guest, and to access the oracle on the guest database.

    System information:

    • MacBook Pro - OS X 10.8.4
    • RAM 4 GB [go to 8 GB]
    • Package VM: Oracle Virtual Box
    • Guest VM: Oracle VM [ http://goo.gl/dtbzO ] developer pre-designed program selection
    • Network connection: host only

Steps to connect the host to host

    1. If you see the "ifconfig", you will see a network card named 'vboxnet0' [created after the installation of VB]
    2. Check the address allocated to the virtual machine [MAC]-> preferences-> network: copy the beginning or between address, which in my case has been 192.168.56.101 [start a]
    3. Assign the address to the vboxnet0 adepter by terminal: sudo ifconfig vboxnet0 alias 192.168.56.101 to the top
    4. Change the virtual machine network affecting "Host," only
    5. Select the vboxnet0 virtual adapter in the adapter list, apply the configurations, click ok
    6. Start the guest operating system and login
    7. Check the IP configuration it by ifconfig, you will find the map eth0 with the same IP address that you assigned to the vboxnet0 on the host machine.
    8. Sql Developer on the host machine fire
    9. Make a new connection and "Hostname" as even as the vboxnet0 IE. 192.168.56.101, fill in the other details of the connection details Oracle needed comments
    10. Test the connection
    11. Woollaaaa you are finished
  • Looking for advice reg Oracle 12 c installation on Ubuntu

    Hi gurus,

I need your advice on the installation of Oracle 12 c.

    Background:

Our application uses the Hibernate Java framework and its works well on Oracle 11 g.

Our customer wants to use Oracle 12 c for good.

I just need to confirm if my application runs on Oracle 12 c with existing configurations.

    My problem:

I'm pondering different options to quickly install Oracle 12 c on my Ubuntu. My network speed and bandwidth are not great, I prefer download as less as possible as my intention is simply to check the compatibility of my application. I was able to install Oracle 11 g 2 on my system which took a lot of effort, and I don't want to disturb this facility.

Here are the options I'm considering. Please guide me what is the possible choice and better quality. (As now I have not downloaded any software expect Oracle VM Virtual Machine for Ubuntu which is a 90 MB size)

    (1) I have vmware installed, download image for Oracle for Linux and Oracle 12 c database for Oracle for Linux. Create a virtual OS for Oracle for Linux, run Oracle 12 c

    (2) Download Oracle VM Virtual Machine for Ubuntu, download image for Oracle for Linux and Oracle 12 c database for Oracle for Linux. Create a virtual OS for Oracle for Linux and run Oracle 12 c. Installation of Oracle VM Virtual Machine for Ubuntu is to give a few problems that need to be sorted

    (3) download a Redhat Linux image and run it from VMware. Since Oracle 12 c is certified for Redhat, install on Redhat on Virtual Machine

    (4) install Oracle 12 c on Ubuntu itself through guides available on the web.

    My config system as follows:

    Ubuntu

    12.04 precision 64-bit output

    Kernel Linux 3.8.0 - 42-generic

    GNOME 3.4.2

    Memory: 7.7 G

    Processor: CPU i5 - 3230M @ 2.6 Ghz x 4

    Available disk space: 55.le GB

[in case it is the best place for the question, please direct me to the same.]

OK, it looks like your reference to 'Oracle for Linux' is in fact 'Oracle' - Oracle Linux version of the Linux operating system, built out of Red Hat Linux.

If this is what you mean - create a virtual machine that is running Oracle Linux... then, running Oracle RDBMS on this virtual machine, and then you run on an operating system taken supported Oracle.  It doesn't really matter what the host's OS.

Mind you, you would be probably hard pressed to actually get support in the form of an SR, but it does not appear that's really your concern, and it doesn't seem to me, the way I read your post, it should be a matter of concern.  You just want to run oracle on an OS that will be easy to install and have a justified expectation that thing will work as documented.

    (2) Download Oracle VM Virtual Machine for Ubuntu, download image for Oracle for Linux and Oracle 12 c database for Oracle for Linux. Create a virtual OS for Oracle for Linux and run Oracle 12 c. My previous comment seems to also apply to the #2 and #3 elements.

    (4) install Oracle 12 c on Ubuntu itself through guides available on the web.

    Bad idea.

    My config system as follows:

    Ubuntu

    12.04 precision 64-bit output

    Kernel Linux 3.8.0 - 42-generic

    GNOME 3.4.2

    Available disk space: 55.le GB

55g available disk could be things short cut.  If you cannot release everything, you could get an external drive for a very reasonable cost and put your entire VM installation on it.  See other comments about the CPU for virtualization products.

  • Where to download the sample database for Siebel Innovation Pack delivery Oracle Cloud 2015?

    Hello

Where to download the example for Siebel Innovation Pack 2015 database?

I downloaded the complete packages for Siebel Innovation Pack 2015 for Windows 64 - bit Oracle Cloud delivery, but I can't find the sample database installation folder after downloading all available components.

    Please help, thanks.

    Hello

DB sample installer are no longer available on Oracle Cloud delivery. To get the sample DB, you need to download the Group of hotfixes 5 of Siebel 15 "Patches and updates" section of the portal My Oracle Support (Patch Id: 22081062) and extract the image from the network using SNIC as usual. You may notice that SNIC now offers local ORACLE XE and sample database.

Also if you select ORACLE XE options while creating the network image and inspect the network image files, you will miss the separate installers. This is because the sample for Oracle XE database Installer is included in the Web Client of Siebel (Mobile/Developer) and the local database setup is included in the Siebel tools.

So when you run Setup of the Siebel Web Client for the installation of the patch group, you can choose to include the database, which is installed in quiet mode. Please try to install web client and let us know if it gives you the opportunity to choose to include the example database.

For more details, please visit virtual library:

  • Installation of Oracle Database Release 1 12 c in laptop

    I intend to install

Database Oracle 12 c Release 1 in some windows 64 laptop 8.1 (book Ultranote), with the below mentioned configuration and main use of this facility is to allow me to get hold of 12 c and prepare my TRAY and OCP. Do it me know this configuration will suffice or should I go for a normal laptop with Intel i7.

    Processor - Intel® Core™ M-5Y70 processor 1.1 Ghz, Max Turbofrequenz 2.6 GHz

    RAM - 8 GB OF DDR3 MEMORY

    Hard disk: SSD 512 GB

I suggest to install VirtualBox and create a virtual machine from comments running Oracle Linux 6.6 for x86_64. Both products are free. Such a configuration will allow you to easily recover from any mistakes that you do without jeopardizing your host operating system and also allow you to create multiple virtual storage devices to experiment with Oracle ASM. Simply create a virtual machine with bridged network or host-only layout and make sure hardware assisted virtualization (VT - x) is enabled in the Bios of your PC. Assigning the 4 GB of RAM to your virtual machine will be sufficient to run the server Oracle 12 c and ASM. 12 c Setup, follow https://docs.oracle.com/database/121/LADBI/toc.htm. That's what I used to prepare and pass 11g and 12 c OCP and Setup worked very well.

Your hardware is sufficient. I used a Macbook Pro 7 years with an old dual core processor at 2.53 Ghz with 8 GB of RAM installed and had no problem of performance or installation with the above configuration.

    Thank you.

OBIEE supports Oracle DB 12 c, you can check in the matrix of certification for details (google for the matrix).

For a certified system, you need to upgrade from weblogic, if it's just to test or a certified system is not required you can also use it directly.

In case your 12 c is configured as multitenant you must specify a connection to a PDB file and not the CDB (but still using a SYS / SYSDBA account) in the RCI.
