Virtual Printing PCoIP clients Linux support?

Does anyone know if virtual printing is supported on PCoIP when clients connecting from Linux based on?

I work well with XP (or XPF) virtual printing clients who connect on PCoIP for view 4.5 XP VM.

But does not work when connecting to the same virtual light based client Linux machine.  HP thinpro t5745.

It works on thin client based on Linux, the connections to the VM even RDP Protocol.

I have a HP LaserJet 2100 printer IP address definined network locally.  Works very well on the spot and when connecting from XP.

Thank you

This matrix is 1 1/2 years old, but I thinkit is still valid. There is no TP / Virtual printing support for the Linux Client.

National Instruments do not support virtual machines, but I'm sure that your PXI will recognize by your system. Max peripheral use ethernet to find devices, so if your network works, you will be able to use it.

  • ThinPrint: virtual printer does not

    Hello

I'm new with vmware player and ThinPrint. A summary of the issue is: virtual impression of the client vmware using host printers does not.

because no virtual printers are displayed on the client. First information on the environment of the system:

The version of vmware player is 6.0.3 build-1895310, the host operating system is Windows 7 Professional 32-bit SP1, client OS is Windows XP home SP3 (without network connectivity).

Latest VMWare tools with "virtual printing" option are installed and the TPAutoConnSvc service is running on the client. A printer device was added by the installer of vmware

'use serial port 1 of the virtual machine', as indicated in the parameters of the virtual machine. As a result, to the Manager of the client devices (virtual machina) port COM1 exist

and is operational. The host has a default printer installed, who also works without problems.

I have tried several things to get the customer print using the printer to the host at work (Setup a printer using the print ThinPrint port and the driver of ThinPrint output gateway manually,

Log debugging enabled for TPAutoConnect), but could not fix the following problem:

    c:\Programme\VMware\VMware tools > TPAutoConnect.exe - v - q-i vmware - a COM1 f 30

Component of ThinPrint AutoConnect, Copyright (c) 1999-2013 Cortado AG, 8.8.774.1

Unable to connect to the virtual channel (5).

    Not found appropriate client protocol.

No printer to create in this session have been found.

It is the output of the command (origin installed in the registry of the client with additional option - v verbose mode), that serves as ThinPrint startup TPAutoConnect.

As a result the Debug log the ' virtual channel (5) "corresponds to COM1 and through this channel connection fails:

Can you please give advise me what can be done to solve the problem above?

    Gerhard

    Solved this problem by myself.

Tried to change the configuration of the port series 1 (COM1) first to the host PC by assigning the "COM2 unit name."

As expected, this has no effect. Then I changed the configuration of the first virtual PC serial port

"COM1" for the first device name not assigned "COM6. I have changed this in the Device Manager with the

Advanced settings for the serial port.

Now I was expecting another error because the printing device "always use 1 virtual machine serial port"

Accordingly the VM settings, but I received unexpected TPAutoConnect log:

"Try the current Protocol with ."

After that I found virtual printers and now I can print from Virtual PC finally as expected.

What I learned is, that the "serial port 1 of the virtual machine" is not necessarily the same as "COM1".

in this virtual machine. But this does not really explain why virtual printer assignments working all of a sudden

    with ' COM6.

  • Roadmap for Adobe Creative Cloud Linux Support

    Dear Adobe Creative cloud community,

There have been several threads back years ask for Adobe Creative Suites Linux support.

This being the year 2016, I suggest that it is time to seriously consider to support Linux and provide the community with a roadmap for this support.

Could us focus the discussions happening in society on this subject? Are there plans? What are some basic terms that you intend for it to be implemented?

From the point of view of the outside, there would be two major milestones to hit with this one:

Step 1: CC Adobe wine rack

Step 2: Adobe CC Native of Linux application

Please review the potential market and stay on top of the three major free software: Linux, Mac and Windows.

    Thank you!

If Adobe has not responded to a message in 2012 creative for Linux (Ubuntu) cloud by announcing plans to support Linux, I seriously doubt that as a new request will get Adobe to change course

  • Any thin client with support of 3G connection

I think to connect remote sites using the 3 G connection. So is there any thin client that supports 3G. The right choice is TC and 3G modem is the right choice. The desktop environment is entirely a visualization of VMware VDI.

    Hiiich

Some thin client comes with a USB port. So I think in that there is no problem with the help of the USB modem if you can install the drivers and compatible software. But so far there is no such thin clients, with support from the 3G connection or USB modem. Everything must be based on a LAN or WLAN connection.

  • Virtual printer is missing on the desktop of Windows 8

I had finally got virtual printing to work in version 7.  After the upgrade to version 8 the option is no longer available and my printers are missing.

I found no mention of this feature being dropped in the release notes for version 8.

What gives?  I thought this was supposed to be an upgrade.

Why is this missing feature, or is it something with my setup?

I really need this feature to my working environment.  If it has been abandoned since version 8, VMware never bring it?  I may downgrade to 7

  • stop the virtual printer function because OneNote printer becomes default

    Hi all

How can cut us the virtual printer function in a Windows 7 Virtual Office? He set up the print queue in the instance of Windows 7 installed locally OneNote and it deploys the OneNote, the default printer and it's confusing people. We want to solve this problem in the virtual office and not Windows 7 installed locally because there are 25 machines that we would need to visit. I tried to run a VBscript script via Group Policy to hardcode a different default printer in the virtual desktop Windows 7, but it must occur before the OneNote print queue is intercepted.

  • View 4 thin client hardware supports PCoIP

If my thin client is windows-based os, there is no difficulty when we improve the mode 4. But what happens if my thin client is thin-os, such as wyse S10? do I have to replace it with a new model like P20 or seller will provide a new firmware?

    Hi Dingding,

You can still use your existing endpoint hardware after and upgrade to view 3-4 of the view, as RDP is still available as a graphic distance communication protocol in View 4.

If however, you want to upgrade to PCoIP, then you will need to worry about your endpoint equipment.

PCoIP software, you can use VMware View 4 Client for Windows, which runs on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. (And maybe even Windows XP Embedded)

If you want to use your Wyse with PCoIP devices, you must wait for Wyse provide updated models. The P20 is the only model that Wyse announced so far. Wyse in the future will also support PCoIP on thin BONES.

Here's an announcement from Wyse on PCoIP:

  • How to access a printer on a networkwith a client Linux and Windows Server.

Windows cannot find a driver on the network. To locate a manually. Click OK. Otherwise, click Cancel.

The above issues apply here, unfortunately, this problem is probably due to the interaction with the server Ubunto. It's the nature of the beast, when you work with an operating system open source, where the version and the encoder are semi-fluid.  Which makes it extremely difficult for a producer of software to ensure that a program or service works when the environment in which it is used is not the environment, so that it has been designed.

  • PCoIP taken higher supported resolutions 3D?

I was wondering if the maximum resolution or the maximum number of monitors supported has increased with the Horizon 6.1 and 6.0 vSphere vGPU technology?  It still seems to view only 2 monitors resolution up to 1920 x 1200 in the pool properties, choosing PCoIP and 3D rendering engine.  We have some users with screens bigger and resolution 2560 x 1440.

Yes, it's a bit confused as who work pieces together and which are not.  I'll explain how I understand them, but I hope that others with more knowledge on the subject will intervene.

It seems that you are using a VM 11 worm, because you can assign all the way up to 2048 VRAM.  To begin with, so you have the computer configured to vSGA and vGPU virtual.  Although this configuration works technically it wastes resources and a virtual approach to GPU must be used.  So if you want vSGA then delete it 'shared PCI device' which is the part of vGPU.  When you check the box 'Enable 3D support' will allow vSGA mode.  You can then select the 3D rendering engine to be what you want.  If you want to allow your computer virtual runs on ESXi hosts that have a true GPU (which is supported for vSGA) and those who do not, then leaving the setting on "Automatic" is preferable.  However we usually switch 'Hardware' only because all our ESXi hosts have a true GPU in them (nVidia GRID K2).  VSGA VRAM is the setting "3D Memory".  If you had a version 9 or 10 VM she would allow only the 512MB max.  The "Total video memory" field is only for the virtual 2D video card configurations and used when only 2D VMware vga standard adapter is used.  When you use vSGA or vGPU I usually just put a small value between 5-50 MB.  You can reference another post I made on performance issues, we did experience when you use the new ver 11 VM vSGA-onlinehttps://communities.vmware.com/thread/506977 I did not reply on this thread, so I don't know if others see it in their applications or if its just us because something else is wrong.  We worked with this technology virtual gpu for several years so we don't think its a mistake on our side, but I'm sure something's going to be trouble finally if its for us to find our error or VMware find a bug.  Since we only use VM worm 9 or 10 until we can understand what is happening.

OK, so the vGPU section.  If you use the vGPU section then you don't need to check the "Enable 3D support" or one of the 3D video settings (because those who are strictly for vSGA).  Simply select the appropriate profile vGPU that you want to use and profiles set the VRAM, max monitors and the res monitor support.  You can check the fixing of the Tony referenced to view these settings.  This is automatically set when you use vGPU based on the profile you select.  Now those who are not hard limits... we use for example the profile k240Q with four monitors @1920 x 1080.  We did not have the 2 GB of VRAM, but wanted only four headrest monitor.  This was accomplished by setting virtual computer configuration settings in the settings area of VM.  However, please make sure that you stay within the buffer size of the profile vGPU VRAM for these alternative resolutions.  Also because we use one zero tera2 customer our monitor with 2560 x 1600 max count is only two, so we cannot use four monitors @2560 x 1600.  These configurations would require an office standard (like your client device) with the video card appropriate to display four monitors to this resolution and then use the client software to view to get these VM vGPU work configurations.

    Kind regards

    Nathan

  • PCOIP for Linux

It is more a poll to see how many people would use a VMWare View Linux client supporting PCOIP.
