  Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers community forum.

  In Internet Explorer 8, the Auto complete option is in a new tab.  Go to tools, Internet Options and then click the content tab.  You will see a section that says "Auto-Complete".  Click on the 'Settings' button and it gives you several choices of auto complete options.

  This should solve your problem.  Let us know if you need more information.

  I got a Toshiba L500 19 X, who has a problem, the keyboard does not work, at all.

  I have attached an external usb k/b and it works perfectly. I stripped the laptop down to the mobo and there is no sign of a reversal of liquid.
  I use a large magnifying glass to inspect the Board, usually find something blow over, but does not in this case.

  Nevertheless I cleaned the mobo and everything seems fine. But the k/b will not work.
  I am come to the conclusion that the problem COULD be an update of the bios of electronics, or corrupt.

  I have d/load the latest version of the Bios, gaining 2.10, but when I go on install it tells me that the current bios is equal to or newer than the one I have d/load and flash will not take place.

  I come hat in hand, to help if possible, and to see if anyone has had the same problem.
  Maybe point me in the right direction.

  So you have a great chance looks like the motherboard is ok and the keyboard controller also works.

• VISA does not open COM port

  Hello, I made a simple VI which gets data from the PC com port.

  It works well on my desktop but today for the first time I ran it on my new laptop and it does not show the COM port. I see the COM port in Device Manager, but it does not appear in the drop-down list in my VI. Can someone please? I have attached my VI.

  You use a labview 2013? I had a similar problem and I had to install NI-VISA so that it displays. Not sure if you have installed that, but if not, then that should solve your problem.

• Touchpad HP Pavilion 17 works does not after using an external wireless mouse

  I have the HP Pavilion 17 laptop.  It is running Windows 8.1.  Everything worked fine until I used an external wireless mouse.  After unplugging the mouse the touchpad does not itself again.  I have therefore no pointer and no touchpad to use unless I have keep the external mouse not connected.  I tried the hard reset with the plug of the battery, unplugging, pressing the power button for 15 seconds and turning everything back on.  Still no work touchpad.  Had this happen last week and called HP because I only had the laptop for 3 days at this time here.  They had me do a system restore to an earlier point.  At this point, everything worked again and I toilet problem has been resolved.  This is why I used the external mouse always thinking that it wouldn't be a problem.  I was wrong.

  Also, I've seen other posts on a different notebook that has a toggle power button in the upper left corner of the touchpad to activate/disengage, but this was not one of these.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  My next step is to call HP again tomorrow and see if someone else has another solution.  I would obviously like the ability to use the touch pad or external mouse at any time without having to restart and go through all these other problems.  Otherwise, this phone pretty may be going back to the store this weekend.  :-)

  I have a .VI which works very well on my computer windows 7. When I move the arduino on my computer windows 8, the VISA resource for the icon of init Arduino does not recognize the COM ports. This option is refresh. It shows on my devices like Arduino Uno (COM5), but not seen on the control or the constant.   I don't think that this is a specific problem of the Arduino.   I upgraded Windows 8.1 Windows 8.  Before updating the finger print reader worked. I used it to connect to websites in any browser Firefox. I also logged into windows with my fingerprint reader and the screen unlocked the same way.

  I have updated all the drivers according to the instructions on updatig before windows 8.1 and after update.  I checked that everything compatible with windows 8.1 again by the instructions before putting up-to-date.

  After that update the drive light will not read the finger scan and the light does not illuminate. I went to the control panel to check the driver and he was later. I ran the windows driver verifier and on the HP site checked for validity sensor driver is up-to-date.  When I open simple passage it says congratulations you can connect in the window by the touch of the finger. When I go on Internet sites I have red cells connected with simle pass, he now seeks to connect with the password "master."

  Welcome to the HP Forum.

  Does the SimplePass asks your for your master password Windows means that the program has survived the process of upgrading to Windows 8, 1 - somehow.

  You can start with the following:

  • Create a Restore Point > create a restore - Win7 Point ORcreate a restore point Win8 
  • Close all your programs and shut down your computer
    • Unplug everything (little unifying for the keyboard / mouse external can stay)
    • Perform the Hard Reset for your laptop
    • Start the computer and connect
  • Check is SimplePass himself has sorted them.

  You can try to update your SimplePass program to the latest version in the series of version 6.x.

  Before you do this, read and follow the instructions to export your Webcards in your .tsd file.  Regardless of whether the Web site connections are working right now; you need this backup in case you lose your HP SimplePass program (thanks to the complete removal / reinstallation or if corruption).

  Internet Explorer 9 is a BETA product and therefore may not work with all your software perceive.

Windows popped up saying that the dashboard Seagate (which is the program that installs Memeo instant backup) have not installed properly, so I clicked on reinstall this program with the recommended settings, and I handed the drive and started the installation again. When I did, the registration page (for the unit I was using) pops up and froze, so I closed its process, then Setup of the Board of Directors of Seagate Dash appeared and I started to install, and when he rose to installation of the snapshot of Memeo back, it opens a "Preparing to install" window of a windows installer and after about 10-15 minutes , another windows installer window comes up saying ' to install the server does not.

  Ive done my time just trying to solve this problem and believe he made an incomplete registry file, it whenever it tries to install it tries to use the incomplete record.   Can you check IP blocked on iDRAC. You can check the setting "Settings-> network-> avancΘs iDRAC" iDRAC GUI page. Default iDRAC IP will be blocked for 10 minutes from the client if you type the wrong password 3 times in 60 seconds. You will be able to access the iDRAC of different customers during this period.   You can always reinstall drivers even if they are native in Windows. Go to control panel and open the Device Manager. Look down the list of all references to your webcam (video, microphone, etc.). They may appear with a yellow! mark indicating there is a problem with the driver, or they might not. If none does everyone try to enable 'Show hidden devices' in the view menu. For each entry in webcam that you find, right-click on it, select properties then driver. Click on the button that says "roll back driver". The earlier work driver should then re - install.

  If the Roll Back driver option is disabled which means there is no new driver installed. You can always reinstall the driver however. Right-click on each entry in webcam and select uninstall driver. When it is unplug your webcam. Reset is optional, if not plug your webcam into even once (in a port on the computer NOT to a hub) and Windows should re - detect and install the drivers again.

  In case it was an update of the driver who caused your problem when you rolled back each of the webcam drivers and tested the camera working again, go to Windows Update and look for the updates. The problem with the driver should appear again. From the screen to view updates (the one with the details on upgrades), right-click on the update of the webcam driver and select "hide update". After that it shouldn't bother you again.

  I bought myself a x 201 tablet a few months back, because I thought it would be great for taking notes during my studies. And I was right

  But after I upgraded my windows 7 to windows 8 when it was released last Friday, my scanner will not work correctly. It seems that the stylus is not really recognised as a pen. There is no pressure at all sensitivity, and clear with the back of it does not work either. It seems the wacom drivers aren't there.

  I tried to download various drivers for it and set up of the digitizer, but nothing seems to do the trick.

  Hope someone can help me, because I really need to be able to take digital notes soon.
