• How to capture when visa resource dropdown list control is filled

  Hi all

  I use a resource name of Visa controls on my front.  This control can sometimes take a few seconds to fill in when a user first clicks on the drop-down arrow.  I would firstly the cursor occupied for the duration that this control is looking for resources, but can't seem to find an event to determine when it's finished.

  What I do currently uses a structure of the event and supported on this control mouse event set up to define the busy cursor when the user first clicks it.  Now I need a way to trigger an event to unplugged the slider when it's done.

  It's really just a cosmetic problem, but any suggestions would be great.

  It seems that you can use the filter event "Mouse Down" on the VISA control to set the busy cursor and the regular event "Mouse Down" to release.  Works in LV 2011.

• Cannot communicate with NI-VISA and Tektronix scopes

  Using the Ethernet connection to communicate using NI-VISA for Tektronix TDS3014B and TDS3034B oscilloscope. Cannot read data from field.

  See attachment for the configuration and Test Panel dialogues. Previously worked. (I don't know which version was working).

  OK can you try a different computer scope, cables and see if you still get the same erros?

• LabVIEW 2009 linux crashes when editing a control, or a constant of resources VISA

  Linux crashes when I click on a constant resources VISA (block diagram) or control (front).  This happens on LabVIEW 2009 SP1 32-bit for Linux on CentOS (similar to RedHat 6.3) 6.3.  I have updated drivers VISA 5.1.2 and that did not help.  Thanks in advance for any ideas of five Linux guys out there.

  My problem has been resolved with LabVIEW 2012.  To answer your question, LabVIEW would crash only trying to select another device in the list.  Thanks for your help.

  I have problem connecting to the oscilloscope Tektronix TDS7404 via Ethernet of LabView. The driver is installed, but when I open the VI example came with the driver,

  I need the VISA name. If I leave the field blank, I get an error:

  1073807343 error occurred while opening VISA in Tektronix 7000
  Series.lvlib:initialize. VI-> Tektronix 7000 series gain Waveform.vi

  Possible reasons:

  VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0011) insufficient location information or the device or
  resource is not present in the system.

  How can I configure the VISA for this scope?

  It is connected to the PC via a switch, ping for the works of scope, I can see the hard drive of it also.

  I use LabView 2010 SP1; I do not see the scope max.

  Problem solved. Among device drivers has not been installed. Not the high level (VISA drivers), but the low level drivers. The TekVISA server on the scope did not work as well. Strange that LabView has not complained about these directly, just did not see the scope.

• VISA does not recognize the remote system max

  I tried to configure the instrument cards in a chassis SMU, and I'm unable to get a VISA to recognize.  Reading some other posts related to names of resources VISA, I found that you should be able to drag and drop devices Max NOR in a Labview diagram, and it will automatically create a resource VISA for device control.  I am able to do that the name for the devices installed on "My System" (COM1 for example), but when I try to do 'Remote system', a few drops in a block of text.  If I try to create a resource VISA directly control, the drop down menu displays only the devices on my system.  I even tried to change the VISA category for the control.  Still not get visa to recognize the remote devices.  Please notify.

• Control to the Clipboard

  Is it possible to copy a control to the Clipboard? As I discovered is is possible to paste text into the windows clipboard. My intention is to create a small application that finds GPIB-addresses from a network definition file and copy to a VISA-resource (or constant) control to the Clipboard. Thus, in any VI I can run just my little app that I start from the LabView Menu, select my device and have a constant resource VISA or a control to the Clipboard the idea so far. It is possible to copy and paste a control from a VI-is it possible by programming?

  Not all browsers support the option parts hanging out. Save the image to your hard drive, and then drag it from there in a vacuum VI.

  As a general rule, access the new VI object primitives and other scripts options to enable the script in the Options dialog box (in 2010, in earlier versions, you need to download the installer API script separately).

  The command you have posted has several components:

  The gray area of the transport layer uses for a checksum

  several bits set to 0.

  a single bit to define if it's a read/write operation

  a byte to identify the register of interests.

  two bytes for the data.

  With what you have provided, there are only three things we need to worry:

  (1) set the R/W bit to 0 to mean we're reading rather than write.

  (2) set the second byte 0 x 41 to focus on the register of interests.

  (3) with a reading, I can't imagine the last issue of two bytes.  They probably ignored.  The documentation you provided does nothing to explain this.  The most logical thing I can think is that these two bits contain the data, you go to the registry if you set the R/W bit to 1.

  There are two parts to this communication.  The first part is an entry VISA to send this control unit.  It is likely that you will need to complete the message.  You will need to know how to do this.

  The device must respond with the message that you mentioned in the original post.  Crows is right.  He's coming back as a string.  You can use the subset of string to separate the components defined by the standard.  You can use these components to determine if the data is legitimate and then do what you want with the data.

• Error with VISA Read (-1073807346)

  I use VISA read/write to control a glucometer and read files in memory. When I run the file memory for the first time, I get the error 1073807346 and the explanation is "VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF000E) the given reference of session or the object is not valid."

  However, when I run again immediately after (without doing anything except click Run), it works perfectly every time until I have log and restarts (while I get the same error, but it works each time after this).

  I checked my settings, they are correct and I also tried to run the command with Hyperterminal and it works. I don't know why this does not work the first time around.

  Any help you could give would be great. I have attached the file ("read Mem").

  You choose the resource monitor correct (I assume you are) before starting the program?

  Why do you have a picture of sequence around your code? The sequencing is already accomplished by the data cables. The last wait is relaxed.

  And most important: why do you have a feedback node in your visa session just before writing.

  Delete and press cleaning diagram.

• Controls programmatically 6015 DAQPad (USB)

  I'm working on a c# .NET WinForms is to control a Pad of DAQ OR 6015 (USB) programmatically.  I would be grateful no indication on the following questions:

  -We are currently using the latest version of the NI-VISA driver for the control of the instruments.  This driver will work with the Pad of 6015 DAQ as well?  If this is not the case, what driver should be used?

  -I don't have any experience communicating with OR instruments.  Are there good examples or tutorials demonstrating controlling 6015 DAQ Pad of in a .NET application (IE. not using LabView)?

  There a documentation available for the Pad DAQ 6015, which lists specific commands that should be used when reading and writing to the instrument?  For example, how the DAQPad-6015 for send 5 volts for, say, Channel 5?

  -Our application will eventually run in Windows 7.  It will present problems of compatibility with the 6015?

  The drivers, you must contact the DAQPad DAQmx drivers (the most recent is 9.4 and can be downloaded here). The 6015 is quite an old device, it is supported by 9.4, but it is not supported in Windows 7. If you look in the readme DAQmx driver 6015, you will find all relevant information. In which case examples of how to use the DAQmx driver to connect with an instrument OR the driver is provided with several examples (.h and .c files) that are in the location described in this document.

  If you have decided to upgrade to Windows 7, I recommend the upgrade to more current hardware that is supported. I hope that helps!

  If you use a ValueExpression for access B then Yes, the bean is instantiated by JavaServer Faces. However, there is another option, which is to use a managed property in a configuration. bean managed at the bean managed A you would create a property as

  public void setB (B b) {}
  This.b = b;
  }

  public B getB() {}
  Return this.b;
  }

  You configure then a property managed with the name 'b' and the reference to # in the a configuration. In this way, that you don't need to use a ValueExpression in bean managed code

  guys, I visit has the application control bar has a padding 1px on each side, but is there a way to remove the padding, so that I can align the Img to the far left of the control bar?

• Ideas for a COM active USB push button device

  What I want to do is very banal and straighforward, but I would like to have some ideas of the community about my question.

  Essentially what I want to do, it's some type of VISA helped COM device control program timer in my LABVIEW program. What my program is currently controls vibration motors by an Arduino MEGA, using the Labview for Arudino SDK files.

  That guys do you recommend for a sort of Staples 'Easy button' feature that can be turned on and detected as a FTDI COM device USB? Is there something out there on the market that might be easier to just buy premade, or it would be relatively easy to build such a device? The final objective is to capture the reaction time (in ms) of the subjects who are exposed to vibratory stimulus of the engine.

  Are you by chance using sound on board the ship on your computer rather than on a more specialized audio interface?

  If so, Windows (especially 10) has a bad habit of stealing the sound chip and giving programs he deems most worthy - like system or Facebook videdos - beeps then do not return to the hearing.

  Try to go to Edition/Preferences/Audio material, and then set the 'device class' to Ms. and default input and default input to those you want to use.   Even if they look good, change something, then change back and click the 'Okay' down to the bottom.  (If I guessed wrong and you have an audio interface, the class of the device will likely be ASIO and the device will be the driver for your interface).

  Should the above doesn't work, visit the Windows Audio Control Center and ensure that devices of law are defined by default in the tabs of devices of recording and playback.

• Timeing TDS 3034 B using Ethernet VISA controls

  I'm trying to control an oscilloscope Tektronix TDS to 3034 B by Ethernet. I have set up the scope of Measurement & Automation Explorer and can't open a VISA session using the button "validate". However, when I use VISA test panel to write "* IDN? \n' and read the response, I get the following:

  Have you selected VXI-11 or RAW? I don't know which method is supported for the scope. I hope the manual would explain, but since there are only three options for a network device, you can quickly all try and see if you get better results.
