Vision Development Module run-time license?

Hello everyone, I want to install an application to the University, I built on a laptop computer for use at another University. The application uses the driver NOR-IMAQdx for acquiring 2 USB, as well as various screw cameras since the vision development module. I know that there is no legal issue with Labview Run Time of distribution engine, but I would like to know where I stand with the side of the vision of the things. To install this application on the laptop I need to purchase the Vision Development Module Run Time License and software Acquisition of Vision for this laptop, if yes, how could I inculde it in installation? I noticed that the GUI installation gives me the possibility to include engines of execution and drivers, but I don't know how it works without the permit? Also, any idea on the cost? Any advice would be great, best regards, Joe

Hey Joe,

First the license covers the Module's development of Vision so should cover all the required drivers.

You can download the runtime separately from here:

http://search.NI.com/nisearch/app/main/p/bot/no/AP/tech/lang/en/PG/1/SN/catnav:, n8:13, ssnav:sup.

You will need the license to activate it on the installation.

Whether if it is a better idea completely, it depends on how you want to distribute your application.

I hope this helps!

Research on ni.com for 'Vision Development Module Run-Time 2015' brings me to a lot of results, but not "Vision Development Module Run - Time 2015 SP1".  Is this product late?

The Vision Development Module 2015 SP1 has already been published a few days ago.

    Hello Guenter

I could not find, too and study this.

As a solution for the moment, you can use the

Vision Development Module 2015 SP1 - National Instruments
    http://www.NI.com/download/vision-development-module-2015-SP1/5798/en/

and when asked to choose what features must be installed uncheck everything except the TERM NI Vision 2015 SP1, see the attached picture.

  • LabVIEW RT and VeriStand run-time license

    Hello

There is something, I want to clarify.

VeriStand full development license includes a license to run LabVIEW RT?

For example, if I intend to run on a desktop PC VeriStand became a target of RT, (as usual) should I buy a license of execution for LabVIEW RT or the run-time license is already included in the package VeriStand?

I think we need to buy a license of execution in all cases, do you confirm?

Thanks for your reply, have a good day.

    Kind regards

After talking with the right people, I can confirm that the licenses Full Dev and operator agree indeed licensed LV RT Runtime (one per license NIVS). The license PC Dev has however not.

    Pardon confusion Da Helmut.

  • NI Vision run-time license

I want to deploy a vi on a standalone machine without labview. I use imaq for a firewire camera acquisition and I get essentially the standard deviation of the pixels in the image.

In the installer, I built with vi (as an executable file), I've included the Labview runtime engine and the execution of Vision engine.

Free vision runtime has already deployed elsewhere, I need to get a new one. My question is; is this license once off fee or is it an annual fee. If it is one time license all is good, but if it is an annual fee, I'm afraid I'm goosed.

Secondly, is it possible to do the above without NI Vision and so shouldn't a vision runtime license?

    Kind regards

    Leeser

It is a cool weather.  You can not do without having to buy the license.  The good news is that it includes the license for the acquisition of vision, you need at least for the firewire drivers.

  • License OR VISION Run-Time Engine

    Hello

I send you this question because despite the number of doc that I could find in relation to my question, I have not had a clear answer to my pb:

I have an application that has been developed with LV 8.2.1 using NI IMAQ 3.7 from functions. (Very briefly the program acquires images from a camera, performs simple operations on images and saves the results of these operations, so other images).

I would like to know what are the licenses I need to purchase pour installer of the compiled version of my prog on client pc (which does not have LV). (I know I'll have to buy for each client PC licensed IMAQ 3.7 but regarding the treatment of these images can I just no VISION Run - Time Engine 8.2.1 which seems to me is free in the same way that NEITHER LABVIEW Run-Time Engine 8.2.1)

Pour your response thanks in advance that I help him nothing I hope to see more clearly between the IMAQ vision, vision performance, VISA Run-time...

    Hello fabrice91,

The Runtime of NOR-VISION is available to download for free, however during the installation you have to activate it. When you create an executable LabVIEW AAFC is not automatically run time engine, this is why you need to create an installer that will contain the TENS of LabVIEW and NI of VISION. If you run the executable on the development computer it is normal that your application turns car you have all the necessary Runtime on this post. However if you try to run your application on a machine where there is no software OR your executable will not have to work and that's your Installer. Pour the know National Instruments programs installed on a PC you have several opportunities either through Measurement & Automation Explorer either start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > software from National Instruments.

  • Is the module vision development in labview 8.6. sufficient for acquiring images in real time and analysis using a webcam

    Hello

I'm new to labview and trying to develop a system of eye tracking using labview 8.6. He has the vision development module, and I was wondering if this was not enough for the treatment and real-time image acquisition or could I need other software tools.

Yes, to acquire images from a webcam, you need drivers imaq-dx.

  • Explorer project - construction of an installer - looking 'Module NI Vision Development 2009'

    Hello

I am trying to build a Setup program for an application that I wrote. This Setup program is set to automatically include setup for DAQmx 8.9. During the construction of the installer, he asks to find the path of the distribution by 'Module NOR Vision Development 2009'. The problem is that this module is no longer installed on my PC, or any component of it required by Setup / application. Why Setup is build asking for this? And how can I fill build them without him?

I have attached a picture of the error message below.

    Glen

    Glen:

It looks like a problem with how the drivers on the system update shared components. If your Installer is including a component shared (like MAX or something), it will search the installer who most recently updated this shared component. In this case, something has been updated recently by the Vision Development Module, so he asked you for this installer.

(There is a better explanation of this in the following KB: why to make a Distribution of the "missing" or "Necessary Distributions" error trying to build one Instal... )

You probably have a few options:

    1. find the media source for the dev Module. Vision if you still and let the installer take its component shared there.

    2. try to update another driver (preferably the one used in your application) to the latest version if you have not already. Who can change this pilot updated the component shared in question.

    Hope that helps!

I guess that's an extension of the one where the icon is not copied on. Another option is that RTE simply lack the code necessary to display this specific to this.

In any case, I would say that this is a bug, even if it is minor.

I don't think it's a bug, the summary of references to a CTL file, which is not present in the RTE, I think that LabVIEW disconnected from the reference shape the typedef and saves only the required properties.

  • Creating a single setup program, including the DSC Run-Time module

    Hello

I would like to know if it is possible to add the DSC run-time of an installer?

I'm using LabVIEW and DSC 8.6 and I do not have the license for the DSC run-time.

In the "Additional installers", I checked the health empty boxes:

    • OR Distributed System Manager
    • NEITHER deployment DSC increased support for LabVIEW 8.6
    • OR LabVIEW Run-Time Engine
    • NEITHER Measurement & Automation Explorer 4.5
    • Engine OR Variable

When I open MAX after the installation, I do not see the database of the Citadel, and there is no trace of the execution from DSC module.

How can I have a single installer that will do the work?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Yes, as long as your customer has performance DSC system installed and enabled on their computer, they should be able to use your exe with Setup included. Then you wouldn't need an installer for it because it would be already installed and the computer should have MAX and the database of the Citadel. You will not be able to install the RTS as an extra Installer, unless you activate it on your machine. I hope this helps.

  • NI Vision Run - Time Engine (incompatible with already installed products)

Hi people - I created an installer for a simple application using LabVIEW and Vision 2010 SP1 64-bit.  The application works fine in Win7/64-bit OS development environment.  Failed to install on another computer with the same operating system, which gives the following message is displayed.

The additional setup only I checked is the Vision Run-time Engine 2010 SP1.  I've completely updated all my products OR with the last set level DVD, which is for 32-bit products.  I can send the LLB from the source code if someone from NI Vision support staff needs this.

    Help!

    Thank you

    Don

In prior OR components unistalling and then put it back, we have able to install this application.

NOR can give a message more informative than the screenshot, I showed, as try uninstalling some components OR already residing on the machine, so we know where to start.

    Thank you

  • 5 Lightroom Develop module does not display the changes in real time - locks on original image

After almost a year of using Lightroom 5 (Version 5.7.1) with no problem there now will not show changes/changes I do them in the main view of the magnifying glass.  The image on the film down changes.  The Navigator view darkens, once a change is made.  If I I have the active secondary monitor it will show the changes in real time (because of the quality of the secondary monior I do not use it for changes).  If I go back to the magnifying glass library display changes to develop module are shown.  I can also make do and discover tiem real changes in the Librrary module in the quick develop Panel. IF I come back to the develop Module updated (edited) image but more it is stuck on this image in the Loupe view.   I suspect strongly I accidentally made some key race in the error that created this situation, but I can't really pinpoint exactly when this problem occurred are contiguous 5 days ago.

The problem persists with any image.  I tried several images - old and new.  The only software or any other change that I have introduced in the last 30 days was Piccure + 30 days ago.  I later have it removed as a precaution.  No change has resulted.  I took additional measures include 1) Reseting preferences (twice), 2) reinstall the software twice, the second time I deleted all the files of supported / presets except the current catalog and 3) I have used backup catalogs as well dating back to the period of time, well before the problem appeared.  I am running Windows 7 Professional with Service Pack 1, 64-bit OS

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.  I feel like I'm under low on things to try.  Thanks - Jeff

This could be caused by a defective monitor profile.

As a diagnostic tool and possibly a temporary solution, try to set the monitor to sRGB profile.

Go to control panel > color management and define the sRGB as the default profile.

If this solves the problem, you should ideally calibrate your monitor with a standard material.

  • VISA writing differs between TS and LV Run - Time Engine development agencies

    Hi all

I made a request on LabVIEW to test the BERs (Bit error rate), and I used the Write VISA between two COM ports to Exchange data.

Everything works great using just of LabVIEW.

Later, I used TestStand to call my application (VI). Adapters of LabVIEW TestStand have been set by default on the development system , and everything works OK!

Finally, I had to disable the development system and to define the types of adapters LabVIEW of TestStand for LabVIEW Run-Time Engine and I noticed that the speed of the exchange of data between two COM ports significantly decreased.

The only difference was the speed... because all data (changed slowly in this case) happened correctly on the other COM port too.

The symptom was the same that decrease baud rate... but baud rate and all other configurations remained the same. The only difference was the change between the development system for the runtime to notice this reduced speed between the data exchanged using VISA Write.

    All the solutions for this?

    Thanks in advance

    João

    Hi all!

I'm sorry, I forgot to reply to this thread...

Solution was change the way VISA WRITE of "asynchronous" to "synchronous" to book a thread just to WRITE visa.

The problem here was something like this (?): TestStand used all available threads and when we wanted to WRITE of VISA, the thread has been busy and VISA would wait until the wire emerges. After changing to syncrhonous, there was a thread dedicated to this process (?).

Now, everything works the same using LabVIEW Run-Time Engine or system deployment.

Thanks for the help Chris and Norbert :-)
