Vista 64-bit - auto-hide Taskbar does not.

I have updated the drivers for multiple hardware today and now my taskbar is no longer auto-hide.  I tried to play with different configurations for the taskbar and to delete the files in the prefetch folder all to nothing done.  Any suggestions?

Hello

We recommend that you reapply the settings of the taskbar or hide and show.

Step 1: Some users corrected this problem by killing the explorer.exe process. To kill and create a new explorer.exe process, try the following steps.
1. press the keys Ctrl + SHIFT + ESC to start Task Manager.
2. click on the processes tab.
3. right click on the process explorer.exe, and click on "end process."
4. click on the file menu, click "new task (run...)" type % windir%\explorer.exe, and then click ok.
5. the close task manager.
6. hide the taskbar and check the functionality.

  • HP Pavilion a6203w, Windows Vista 32-bit. Volume +/-buttons does not

    Hi all

I had problems with my HP keyboard volume buttons recently. I've updated my audio drivers after the sound on my computer has completely stopped working. HP support suggested the update of the driver, and since then, the volume keys don't work unless I click on the speaker icon in the system tray in the lower right corner of my screen (taskbar).

After clicking on the icon, the volume buttons Up and Down works for about 20 minutes. I have to repeat the process each time I want to change the volume ot. Mute the function works fine, but the other two do not.

I searched the forums and found similar problems, but they have been with laptops and didn't feel uncomfortable using these solutions for my office and may do more harm than good. Help, please. Thank you!

Install the original multimedia keyboard driver to see if that returns your keyboard multimedia features.

If this isn't the case, then the keyboard can have its own number.

  • Hide notifications does not

Hide notifications does not, I bought win7 at the beginning of this year, so I'm not going to change OS on this machine, every day I select this option to hide the notification of win10, and every day he comes back, can he be permanently hidden? (I think it's an invasion, if I hide something, it must remain hidden)

However I have 3 machines (2 workstations, 1 netbook) with XP, I can't afford to change their OS, so it would be wiser to offer at a very reduced price to update me.

If MS is so eager to remove outdated software, then get people in my situation to give up XP for an OS update would be the best solution, but fresh is a real problem.

"Why is it him hide notifications do not stay hidden for win10 icon?

Because Microsoft program that remains visible.

Your question probably was: "how to get rid of this image? If Yes, then here is the answer:

    1. Logging in as an administrator account.
    2. Follow this path: Control Panel / administrative tools / Task Scheduler.
    3. Open this folder: Task Scheduler Library / Microsoft / Windows / Setup / GWX.
    4. Right-click the task in the RIGHT pane, then disable them.
    5. Reset. In case they come back, do the same for GWX triggers.

Of course, an automatic update can reactivate these tasks.

It would be wiser to offer at least a very reduced price to update me.

--> The upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 is free during the first year.

If MS is so intent of removing outdated software...

-> If MS did not move with its operating systems, then its customers even more quickly would erode that it already does. When Windows 95 came out, people snatched it the shelves faster than staff could put in place. Do you know someone who still uses Windows 95? Windows XP is an operating system very well, but it lacks most of the snazzy features that buyers of Apple Mac love so much. He would sell is more even though she was still available. You can, of course, pass by using Windows XP, but MS will no longer support him because support costs money and creates although not income.

You might wonder why Apple is now the valuable company that exists.

The start menu and taskbar does not appear.  IM on windows 7.  Any help please?

You can try to leave Explorer yourself.  Here's how:

    1. Press Ctrl-Shift-escape, which should open the Task Manager.
    2. On the file menu, choose new task.  Type explorer.exe and press ENTER.  The taskbar and the desktop should appear.

However, this is not a permanent solution.  My best advice to you would be to use the system restore to go back to one hour before the beginning of the question.  This restoration process takes about 2 minutes and will not lose one of your folders: it restores only the settings from the system to a point in time that you choose (you can 'come back' as little as a few hours or several weeks).

To do a test, follow the steps below.  I guess that you are unable to reach the taskbar for the following steps:

    1. Press Ctrl-Shift-escape, which should open the Task Manager.
    2. On the file menu, choose new task.  Type rstrui.exe (this name is for 'restore user interface').  When you click OK, the system restore should start.
    3. Through the system restore program, you will choose a time to come back. When you have completed the program, your computer will restart with the settings at this time.

Please let me know if it helps.

  • Vista Business 64-Bit with AutoCAD 2009 does not seem to use all 8 GB of RAM available.

A workstation newly built (S5000XVN Intel / Xeon / 8 GB RAM / 2 GB RAM video) with Windows Vista Business 64-bit is used with AutoCAD 2009 (64-bit).  The workstation hangs under stress, apparently because not enough RAM is available.  ("Stress" is "Turning entirely made of a certain complexity 3D drawings")

The Task Manager / Performance tab indicates never to use RAM above about 3.25 GB, even if ten or more concurrent applications are loaded, including IE 8 (6 graphically heavy windows) and AutoCAD with 6 or more complex drawings open at the same time.

There are two issues, I think:
    1. in the event that a busy workstation indicate use RAM above the 32-old bit of 3.2 GB limit?
2 are there MS Windows Vista settings that are necessary to ensure the use of RAM available?

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the reply.

I studied the installation of AutoCAD 2009.  It's actually the 64-bit version that is installed, and the Task Manager reports it as a 64-bit application when it runs.  (In other words, it is not marked as a 32 bit application.)

I must admit that I no longer believe that the machine is running out of resources or do not use all the resources available to it.  We tested the machine by throwing 18 complex, fully rendering the 3D drawings within the Academy, in addition to two cases of IE 8, three instances of Explorer Windows and MS Windows Mail.  Use of the RAM did climb, reaching finally the 4.06 GB, clearly indicating that the 32-bit 3.2 GB limit has been exceeded.  It seems that just drawings don't take up that much RAM.  BTW, there was no increase in the paging activity that I could see.

However, the application does not seem to be frozen or looping when the client attempted to turn one of the drawings.  The CPU on the two wires (Xeon processor) usage increased to 55% and remained there. the State of the process, as reported by the task manager went to "Not responding" and stayed there; and the display of the image froze on an empty workspace, with a three seconds flash drawing on every 20 seconds.

So: It now seems that there is a problem with AutoCAD, not a Vista problem.  I would appreciate comments, however, if you think that this analysis is wrong, incomplete or based on wrong assumptions.

    Thanks for your help.

  • How to get a hp 4600 Color Laser jet print on a vista or Windows 7 64 - bit OS PC which does not have a parallel port connection?

My hp 4600 color Laser Jet uses a parallel cable to connect to a Windows PC. When I had XP as the OS it worked fine. But now after the upgrade to Vista or Windows 7 64-bit OS it will not work and my PC does not even recognize it when it is plugged into the PC with the parallel to USB cable that worked so well before. So, what should I do to get the PC to recognize the Hp 4600 and have it printed again as before? (My first plan is to try to get the printer to work by hooking up through Wireless. Does anyone know if it will work? I'll answer my own question, if it does. Wish me luck! (Thank you!)

According to the HP support site, there are drivers available for Vista and Windows 7 If you're lucky it. Download the appropriate drivers for your computers. According to the information of product from HP, this printer can be connected directly to the network by an ethernet cable. I don't see where it has wireless capability, but in any case ethernet is preferable for printer connections if possible.

Connect the printer directly to your router or switch connected to your router and assign a static IP address outside the range the router DHCP. Then, install the drivers that you got from the HP website for your operating system.
