He said: 'the maximum number of secrets that may be stored in a single system has been exceeded.   Thank you for all your help and patience, I managed to get in touch with Microsoft via online chat service and discovered that the copy of windows that I had installed on my ssd re was an OEM copy that could only be installed on my drive home, it disabled and blocked as soon as I changed it for my ssd. Now, I have to buy a new copy of Windows, which is unfortunate, thanks again for your great help!

  This would imply that all of the files needed for the installation of SP1 is not downloaded to your computer. You use Windows Update to install SP1? If so, you can try to download the full SP1 Installer and it runs locally instead.

  I just installed a new hard drive and reinstalled vista and sp 1 & 2 but when I try to run the update or install fix powershell I get the 0xc8000222 error code. Any ideas?
