Vista Boot Fail: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

A few weeks ago, I tried to start my Windows Vista laptop (Compaq Presario F730US) a few hours after the previous use, and after trying to start windows, I got error PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. Ive tried the system restore/repair, and safe mode... Unfortunately, I never had or did a backup drive, so I can't reinstall windows... even if I'm sure that these are the files to problem. Any help would be apprecaited. Thank you.

    (1.) you want to reinstall XP on the HARD drive or you want to cancel only the vista Boot Manager.
    Usually after reinstalling XP, the boot manager should disappear.

    But I found these tips step by step in the internet:

    -Start your computer in Windows XP.
    -Make sure you have the image of Vista DVD emulated or in the DVD drive.
    -Go to start and run. Type in e:\boot\bootsect.exe/nt52 ALL/force (without the quotation marks and replace e: with the letter of your Vista DVD).
    -Restart the computer, and you notice that the selection of start menu disappeared.
    -Format the partition/drive where you installed Vista.
    -Remove the two (Boot.BAK and Bootsect.BAK) files on your file of root of drives XP (c), it was backup of your previous boot loader files, now is more useful.

  • Blue screen on vista boot even safemode

    Only change I made last week is to install roxio.  I had started after that.  Also have had the problem since the week last on my url automatically redirected to other sites.  So think, it may be a virus/spyware.

    How to debug the blue screen?  It is not even stay long enough for me to this Reed continues.  I think the code is like 0 x 0000005.   This happens after the vista boot screen gets up and I select vista boot - load all the drivers etc. then shows a black screen, and then a quick blue screen then reboots.

    I am able to get connected via the CD of vista - but not to create the administrator account for me to use the recovery.  But I can access the prompt - ran the check disk, memory check etc - all the utensils that difficult is fine (no new material not added)

    I also chose start with logging and log file ntbt*.txt doesn't seem to have problems.  Even safe mode is a failure.

    Can any help on how I debug?

    The code confirms everything you have already said - 7th with the parameter 005.

    That your drivers to work has little to do with the question of whether if they work now. They could have
    become corrupted, an update might make them unstable, other causes may force in
    Unstable States (for example, some games on some hardware) and a host of other issues.

    Try the Recovery Console if you have one and a Vista disk, if not to run the system restore back to a point
    before that happens.

    I'm planning a check disk to run at reboot, but I couldn't see the activity and results of the operation of check disk because of the vista boot screen.  I never noticed this problem before.  However, I wonder if anyone knows how to disable.

    Answer: Disable "no GUI" in the Panel under the msconfig Startup tab.

    Apparently, in the activation of vista "no GUI" allows the vista aurora boot / splash screen, thus hiding the start menu, check it out operations on disk and memory diagnostics.

    Under xp, which allows 'no GUI' blacked out on the screen and hidden from the above process.  But in Vista, rather than be a screen blacked out, vista boot screen is engaged.

    As my question, in some sort 'no GUI' was enabled without my knowledge.  So I could not see the background process during startup.

    If you do not have a Microsoft Vista DVD, make a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

    Having read many threads here how to install Xp on a Vista computer, but now I'm stuck.

    When I put the "AMD Driver SATA AHCI Controller" (RAID7xx) x 86 driver in nlite, with XP sp2 I could cross the blue screen during the installation.

    The installation went well. But when XP tries to start, the XP boot screens and then comes a quick blue screen, until the computer restarts...

    Any idea?

    (must mention that I try to use dualboot. I have Vista installed and done some hard drive space free to make a new partition to install XP, and as mentioned the installation went well)

    It really looks like a bad driver.  No more connected (scanner, external hard drive, drive external floppy, USB key, monitor, mouse, keyboard...) good?  I saw memory cause this type of problem (more than 4 GB) sounds almost like maybe the installation had problems and that it is incomplete or corrupt.

    When you have uninstalled Norton have you used the Norton removal tool?  If this isn't the case, you may want to try this to remove it and then test the updates.  It is also possible that a malware\virus has exceeded Norton.  You should look at this thread and check your system for infections:
