Vista disconnects me.

After @ 2 minutes inactivety, Vista disconnects me. A bit like going to screen saver, but his return to the logon screen. How can I stop this from happening?

Nevermind, I have fixed or at least corrected the problem. I had screen saver, the value 'none', but still set to resume the password, true, I had removed my password. But I went ahead and unchecked it anyway. And it's 20 minutes of waiting... If all goes well...

    Hello

    1. did you of recent changes made to your computer?

    2. which antivirus app do you use?

We will try these steps and check if they help us solve the problem.

Method 1: Except for keyboard and mouse, disconnect all external devices connected to the computer and check if the problem persists.

Method 2: I suggest to start on the desktop using last known good Configuration in the Advanced Boot Options after disconnecting all external devices (except keyboard and mouse) and check if the problem persists.

Method 3: I suggest you run a system recovery option, startup repair, for more information on the system recovery options, see this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/What-are-the-system-recovery-options-in-Windows-Vista

  • want to remove network and start over, vista home prem

Have a Vista home prem (primary) machine and am networking with XP (secondary) machine.  I have a wireless set up and, subsequently, a small business network. I would like to erase and start over with a cable from my router network cable.

  • Vista cannot see network but other machines readers works very well

    Hi all

Really problem simple and stupid that led to me round the twist that I see not what is causing the problem.

I have 2 laptops and 2 players on the same network implemented as follows:

    -1 laptop running windows 7.
    -1 laptop running windows Vista
-1 dedicated NAS connected via Ethernet, which is also a media server
-1 USB key converted to a NAS by connecting a player to the USB port on the router

Computer laptop windows 7 can access internet and network drives fine and access the Vista laptop - nothing wrong with this machine.

The computer Vista laptop can access the internet and a Windows 7 laptop but I am unable to "see" the network drives when you browse the network to map drives.

As far as I can tell, the two laptops have the same settings and are in the same workgroup between them and the network drives.

    Any help is greatly appreciated

    Thank you

    Grahame

    Hello

    Did you change your computer?

    (1) first of all, make sure that the workgroup name is the same on all computers on the network. In Windows Vista and Windows 7, the default workgroup name is "WORKGROUP". On Windows XP, the name of working group by default on Windows XP-based computers is "MSHOME". On all other versions of XP Professional, it is "WORKGROUP".

Go to control panel, then network and sharing Center:
    (2) network discovery: WE
    (3) the network value: private
    (4) file Sharing is: on
    (5) public folder sharing: WE

  • I can't disconnect access to another computer on my network.

I tried to connect a printer to a computer wireless to my network and thought that maybe it would be useful that I connected on the computer connected to the printer manually. So, I went downtown network and sharing of control panel and found that wireless. He asked me to enter the user name and password. Knowing that already, I walked in and he connected, but now I want to disconnect. I clicked on the icon of the wireless computer and it shows a menu with three options: discover, open, create a shortcut.

So, how do I don't unplug it? I see no other options found anywhere elsewhere in the window that might let me unplug the computer wireless on the other.

    What should I do?

  • Remove computer/network on Vista

I can't remove the computers and devices on the network in Vista folder as I could in previous versions of Windows.  I can't seem to find a way to disconnect, remove or delete, I can't find 'help' related topics, except for the 'Add' a computer or device, that I already know how to do.

    Hi TeeJay45,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

Is your computer connected to a domain or a workgroup?

If you don't want your computer on a network, you can unplug it without having to disconnect all cables. Alternatively, you can disconnect your computer from shared network drives that you no longer use.

    1. Open network connections by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking network and Internet, click network and sharing Center, and then clicking manage network connections.
    2. Right-click on the network that you want to disconnect, and then do one of the following:
      • To a network wireless, access to remote, virtual private network (VPN), or incoming connection, click Disconnect.
      • For a local area network (LAN) connection, click disable.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

If you disable a connection to the local network, the network card is disabled until you reconnect.

  • Satellite L300 PSLBGE Vista 64bits - WLan disconnects at random times

    Hey,.

I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite L300 (PSLBGE series) computer laptop. It has 4 GB of RAM, so I installed Windows Vista Ultimate 64 on that.

Problem is that on the Toshiba site there are only drivers Vista32 and with those that I found online, the wireless adapter works, but it keeps disconnecting at random times. It works fine until it stops randomly, there is no message "Network cable" unplugged

He let go the IP address but I tried to keep a 'ping t' on and it gives "the request exceeded" for a period of time and then it comes back.

    What should I do?
    Thank you

    Hello

First of all, it would be interesting to know what you have exactly the WLan card.

I know you could use some WLan drivers from this Toshiba WLan page:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

In addition, I recommend turning off some options that affect the WLan in energy saving feature.

First turn off in energy-saving WLan card properties. (device-> card Manager WLan-> properties-> energy saving)
Then check the power options of Vista-> wireless adapter settings > power save Mode

Here this Toshiba doc could be useful for finding these settings:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD84026Q0000R01.htm

Finally and above all the Advanced tab in-WLan card-> properties > Device Manager contains some useful WLan settings that might increase WLan performance

    Welcome them

VMC has stated that he is not able to connect to the Extender, even if afterwards it says "Ready to use" under the Linksys in VMC image. Result when I went to my TV, the DMA 2100 said he had lost the connection. Tried the buttun to reconnect, but it disconnected immediately.

2 tried the same thing on wiered ethernet. This time, VMC could connect, and everything that was going on well, until I went back to my TV and then the DMA 2100 connected for about 2 seconds (I could just see the Media Center GUI for a second), input disconnected...

3 tried to uninstall Arcsoft Media Theather (plugin for VMC) on the host pc. This time when I went back to television, the DMA 2100 connected for 5 seconds approximately. This time I even managed to use the remote control to scroll through the GUI, go up and down several times before it disconnected again...

I installed the letest firmware, installed the instalation DVD of linksys and disabeled the firewall...

    Anyone have any ideas?

Var guilty ASUS ACPI CENTER which was runnning in the background...

Go to TASK SCHEDULER, and then expand the tab on the left. Select ASUS "folder", and then clear the two files (Asus ACPI Center and "Asus Regsomething, don't remember exactly name...)

Reboot, Ant, and then it works fine!

  • I use a laptop Windows 7 in the office wireless remote for my desktop running Vista. The connection disconnects regularly "try to reconnect 1 20.

    Hello

I use a laptop Windows 7 in the office wireless remote for my desktop running Vista. The regular connection disconnects after a few minutes, then displays the window pop-up "try to reconnect 1 20. It always with success reconnects itself during this first attempt. During the time when the connection is lost, the internet connection is fine, in other words, I could use my cell phone to browse the internet.
Any ideas what could be causing this?
    Thank you.

  • Reduction of disconnection from the time of Vista Home Premium

    Hello

Anyone know how to reduce the disconnect time on Vista Home Premium?

I took nearly 10 minutes for me whenever I disconnected.

    Anyhelp would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Disconnection time is dependent on several factors, the quantity of services that run in the background that must be closed before your computer actually disconnects you. Of if you have active applications that you have not closed before disconnection would certainly consume the time you log out.

If you want that your computer disconnect sooner than ten minutes, I suggest that you limit them number programs start when you start your computer.
