Vista Home Premuim SP2 64 bit 8 GB memory reported as 4 GB

Hello

I recently installed a new Nvidia Geforce GTX 460 graphics card in my system, after the failure of my old Nvidia card (9800). Everything seems fine except that since then, then even if the control panel always displays my 8 GB memory (and the diagnostic tool memory is no problem) almost all other programs, including the CPU monitor gadget, virtual PC, etc. see only 4 GB - this was not already the case.  I have Asus motherboard Quad Core Q9450 clocked at 2.66 Mhz ann. How can I get them to see the size of memory right once again, as has cauased a few problems in virtual environments from my PC?

Hey Obiewahn,

You could try to rerun the Windows experience index assessment:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-is-the-Windows-experience-index

According to the manufacturer of your motherboard, I found this article that might help.

See the section "Great Heist":

http://www.AnandTech.com/show/2850/20

I read your messages, but if you have not updated your firmware for the motherboard I suggest trying that as well.

I hope this helps.

  • C00D0FF4 error message when you try to share the media in the Player Windows Media Player 11 and Vista Home Premium SP2 64-bit

    Hello
I can't share my media using WMP 11.  When I try to do, opens a window of options asking how I want to share media files (with xbox, other users, etc.), and I select the options and click OK.  Then, when I return in the sharing of multimedia files to see if the media are indeed shared, a window opens informing me "Media sharing has been disabled because a required Windows setting or component has been changed. For any additional help, click Help on the Web. When I click Web help, the error code above, with a few troubshooting not.  You must ensure that Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service is turned on.  However, when I get to the list of Services, WMP Network Sharing is not.  It is also a step to confirm the ownership of a registry subkey.  When I try to access the subkey HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences\HME\ [security ID], however, there is no security ID subkey.  Instead of that, by virtue of the MCH, there is a list of "default (name), REG_SZ (type) and not the value (data)".

Suggestions about how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.  Would it be useful to simply uninstall WMP and start over?  If so, how to do that?  I saw an obvious way to do it.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions.

Original title: I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L305-S5894 with Windows Vista Home Premium installed (32 bit).  Unable to get a backup to a flash drive.

After back back, very many updates of windows, my computer is full of problems and it is not representative of the restore points far enough back to correct.  I want really to save my data and programs for flash drive (s) and then go for a full recovery of the system (return to factory).  When you try to do the backup on a 4 GB USB key I get an error including 0 x 81000029.  I have seen posted answers to this.  Everything is included to aid Vista disk from the window which was not included when I bought my computer. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

The following article should be useful. To use system recovery options, you have Vista installation disc. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) repeatedly will install on the computer Windows recovery environment. To cross check if it is installed, try the following steps.

1 start the computer and press the F8 key continuously to get advanced boot menu options.
    2. on the menu advanced startup options, check if the Startup Repair tool is in the list.
    3. If so, select it and press ENTER.
    4. If not, then you should organize a Vista installation disc.

You may receive error messages when you try to perform a backup operation on a Windows Vista-based computer

I tried the standalone install and I got error 0 X 80070564 connection failed.
