Then try to run SQL + Reporting Services Vista Home Basic will not happen?

From what I have read and understood, which are few in the two counts, the answer is: no go.
Home Basic can not support the Web server.

Excerpts:
Vista Home Basic has enough IIS features in WCF support and has no server has Internet (like static-files/directory-listing/asp/asp.net/ssinc etc)-you cannot use IIS on this reference as a web server.

  • Upgrade Windows Vista Home Premium (not the valid product key problem) to Windows 7 Home premium

My friend gave a laptop computer whose OS is Windows Vista Home Basic Edition.  I format the computer and install a Windows Vista Home Premium I have for my desktop computer.  Now, I have a problem with a product key.  When I start the laptop, it indicates a product key requirement.  I enter my desktop OS product key, but I still see the declaration valid product key.  My question is this.  If I buy the upgrade to Windows 7, the operating system will work in the laptop even if she has a problem with the product key.  If I buy Windows 7 upgrade, there will be no problem with the product key?  Or do I have to buy a new Windows Vista Home Premium for the laptop?  Or if you know anywhere I can buy a product key for Windows Vista with a reasonable price?  Thank you

You cannot transfer a license from another computer to another computer, especially if the license came with this machine. You will need to purchase a new license.

Yes, you can purchase a license of Windows 7 Edition upgrade Home Premium and use it.

Where can I still get Windows 7?

Full version - Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

Version upgrade - Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade

  • Win Vista Home, will not let me log on to user accounts

Whenever I try to log on to an account other than the administrator account user, I type the password, but then he says "Logging Off". I tried this for the other user accounts, and it keeps giving the same message. The only account that I am able to connect to, is the admin. I also tried to delete accounts while keeping the files, and in another case, completely remove the account and all the files associated with this account. Yet, the same message appeared. Im not sure what to do from this point. It's a laptop Toshiba, so it comes with a recovery disk, but I don't want to lose all the information I'm currntly installed on your computer.

There was no other Off other than "Logging" error message?

Is there a date when you have not had any problems to connect to other users accounts?
If so, do you remember what date it was?
If Yes, is this correct date more than 15 days ago?
If no, and she was less than 15 days, then use this good as your restore point date and do a system restore.
Start button > Search box, type System Restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

Power outages often lead to problems of material with computers / laptops.

If there's nothing on the start screen (HP Logo, etc.) at startup, you may have a hardware problem.

    If under warranty contact HP.

  • Downgrade from Windows Vista Home Edition to Windows XP Pro Dutch on Satellite P200-15N

Not knowing where I really should put this... I put it in this part of the forum too :)

    So:

    Hello

I bought a new laptop with Vista Home and two Partitions... I would like to install on the second partition "Windows XP pro" (with official key & SP2 included)! But when I run the XP Cd I get an error that the HD is not recognized... So I searched on the forum here, to see if there is a possibility of passby he...

    So what I did:
    (1) I download the "Intel storage drivers" of->
    http://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Filter_Results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2101&OS FullName = Windows * + XP + Professional & lang = eng & strOSs = 44 & submit = Go %21

    (2) I used the Floppy machine, to create a floppy disk with the necessary drivers (also from the above site)

    (3) I downloaded a copy of freeware "Nlite".

    (4) I also downloaded the additional drivers on the "Toshiba" site itself (Lan, storage,...)

    (5) I did a "Xp Pro P200-15N" card and put all the drivers... Including the Exe I downloaded from the link above named "iata76_cd.exe"...

    (6) I have made a new Win XP bootable CD with "Nlite" & added all the drivers that I downloaded and followed the procedure given by "Nlite". He made a new bootable CD (with all the drivers and .exe and .inf, etc...)

    (7) then I boot my laptop with the CD, but it always gives an error on sata drives... (that it can not be found...)

So my question is... What I'm doing wrong and what should the other drivers I download to make it work? I have an external USB floppy drive... If additional drivers must be added... So I hope that there is someone can help to Ho...

I install XP for professional reasons. Things Vista Home can not handle...

Hope I got a respons soon... CZ, looks really URGENT...

THX in advance and sorry if there are errors in my writing (I still am of Belgium)

    UPDATE *.
The method above does not work for me... So took my USB floppy drive and put the drivers on it (hit 'F6' at the start, added the drivers found on the link above, it install it)...
Then I could also choose a partition...

So far so good... He asked me if wanted to format it or not... I said ok...
Then, when he wanted to start the copy, I got:

Insert the CD-rom or the floppy disk with the name
    Driver Intel Matrix Storage Manager
    In station of A:

    * Press ENTER when you are ready...

And I do not know what I do... CZ hitting enter doesn't do anything: s

So what I'm doing wrong, it becomes really ANNOYING and frustrating... I did everything they said in the link, in fact the method with f6, but still now reaction: s... Everyone?

    Sincerely,
    Frédéric

  • Update Vista Home Basic to Premium Edition Office to allow access by laptop running Windows 7

Could someone please advise if I have Vista Home basic desktop Home Premium so I can use laptop running preloaded Windows 7 Office Access? I saw advice that W7 can only comm if Office Home basic is updated! If PORTABLE PERFORMER pre-installed w7 MAY ACCESS DESKTOP. Is this possible and how?

You can move from Home Basic to Home Premium, but Microsoft sells more than Vista.  You need to find a copy of retail, Vista Home Premium (not OEM) somewhere like eBay.  You can use either a copy of the upgrade or full license to do the upgrade.  eHow has an article on the actual upgrade process.

    http://www.ehow.com/how_6297506_upgrade-Vista-Home-Basic-Premium.html

The article mentions that you need some version of upgrade, but they speak the old Anytime Upgrade which is no longer available.  Ignore this.

  • Windows Vista Home Edition - create and restore the system image

One of my laptops old becomes a problem with a disk error.  I need to create a system image, replace the disk, and then restore the image.  Vista Home does not include the option to create an image - although a lot of 3rd party tools do.  Does anyone have experience using a 3rd third-party tool to do what I want, that is, restore the saved image to the new disk.  I plan to use a USB external drive to store the image so anything I start since then will have to be able to see and read from the external USB drive.

    Hello

be able to boot from a USB key depends on the properties of your motherboard

hard drive manufacturers will normally provide the cloning software to move your operating system installed from the old to the new hard disk

Search for information on this subject on their Web site

as you have vista home version you'll need 3rd party software

  • Windows 8 Hyper-V w / Windows Vista Home comments

Is there a reason Vista home is not supported from a perspective of integrated services? I should be able to install any OS and have it install as usual, if the operating system is still supported by Microsoft or not. It is the purpose to run virtual machines.

    Hello

Unfortunately, none of the Home's Windows versions are supported on Hyper-V.

    Overview of Hyper-V:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh831531.aspx

Windows 7 supports - Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate (32-bit and 64-bit) editions. Upgrade integration services after you configure the operating system in the virtual machine.

Support for Windows Vista - with Service Pack 2 (SP2). Business, company and complete, including the N and KN editions. Install integration services after you configure the operating system in the virtual machine.

Windows XP with Service Pack 3 (SP3) - Professional. Install integration

services after you install the operating system in the virtual machine.

    Hyper-v:

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyper-V#cite_note-hyperv2012technetoverview-31

No support for editions of Windows.
The Hyper-v management tools are not compatible with Windows Vista Home Basic or Windows Vista Edition Home Premium. This is also the case for the editions of Windows 7 (Home Premium family basic and Starter).

  • Not to say could not upgrade from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional

I pre-ordered Windows 7 months with no indication that I couldn't switch from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional without performing a new installation.  Now I learn that I have to re - install all THE programs, once I have perform this upgrade / 'clean install '.  All the criticism of Windows Vista pales in comparison to my irritation at says this news AFTER the purchase, and not before.  Failure of the installation of the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to note any problem.  All previous Windows upgrades went flawless.  Needless to say I am extremely disappointed by this turn events and we hope that Microsoft will improve its pre-purchase counseling in the future.

I guess I have no choice now but to do a clean install of Windows 7 and then reinstall on my computer that will put me out of use for a long period of time?  I backed up the entire hard drive before trying to install, but I doubt I can get by simply restoring this backup.  Is this correct?

    Hi pwcushman,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Answers.

Windows Live OneCare Backup works in stages. You start by setting up how you want Backup to run and save the configuration. The backup will then run according to schedule and backup your files according to the saved configuration. You can make changes to this list or add other files and folders.

You can restore all files and folders, but you will have to reinstall all the programs.

Check this link for more information:
