Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

See you soon.

If the above does not work, try to make a Bootable ERD to do a Startup Repair:

As is the case with most computers/laptops these days, they do not come with good Vista disc to repair only the recovery disks.

As your grave in the category above, download the ISO on the provided link and do a repair of the disc.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

You can make a tool to restart system, System Restore, etc. with it.

Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.

http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

It's a very good Vista repair disc.

You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

There is not a disk of resettlement.

And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.

See you soon.

  • Windows Vista looks like classic Windows

I changed the design of my laptop, so it would be better for a game, but when I started this morning, it looked like classic Windows. There is no available in themes and even vista theme by checking the box for best visual appearance, nothing has changed. Any help?

Use the Windows key + R, and then enter the following: services.msc

One of your services will appear as "Theme". Make sure that it is set to run automatically, and then restart the PC.

After a reboot, make sure the theme recurs.

  • Experience of Vista with a Satellite U200-115

Hi.Just a little of my experience since the upgrade to Vista, in the hope of an orientation.
U200 only bought it 4 months with XP Pro loaded. used Express upgrade to Vista.
I think that I loaded the new Bios & drivers ok, but very fast, everything works no more. I could not repair the Vista installation had to install on my second partition. This led to 2 choices of vista boot up which I just discovered how to stop.
    Vista looks nice but...
I keep losing my optical drive, I have to uninstall and then restart your computer.
It crashes IE with the program image. Firefox blinking on the screen like crazy. Can only stop with the prolonged use of button / stop.
Utility flashcards... what that all about?
recovery when opening lid, slow, maybe needs to restart.
Wireless, can make his choice if there is or is not all available networks... reboot again.
I wonder if I can use the recovery cd to put XP on the original OS partition and back to Vista next year!
    Any comments appreciated

HM, it sounds not very positive, but the crazy thing is, I have to admit your 'report' it s not pilot stuff, plus the operating system itself. I think that if they 'closed' with their OS werenâ´t they hadn´t so much probs thereafter. The manufacturer can provide some proper drivers and the system could be running.

Thus, we can have some faith when they release SP1 for Vista. I think a lot of people waiting for MS.  :) Me too...

    Welcome them

  • 7.15 Skype on Windows Vista freezes on startup

I've updated to Skype latest version 7.14 and 7.15 on my Windows Vista and after this update, Skype starts ever upward. Even if he starts, he ends up Skype closes with a problem. Completely uninstalled and resinstalled, checked the updates of windows, then all the FAQ, but not luck.

After a session with an agent of Skype screen sharing and proving that this problem only occurs with the recent version, he was able to recognize this bug with 7.14 + version. I have download the old version and it started to work very well. Today, when I've updated my Skype to 7.17.0.105 version on Windows Vista, looks like Microsoft/Skype has listened to the bug report and have it fixed! Hooray! Thank you, dear friends. In addition, it seems they have fixed another bug where we sign out of Skype, it took too much time to finally get back to the login screen and has hosted the Windows machine during this process. Double Kudos to the team for fixing this loooooooooooooooooooooong pending correction of problem!

  • Vista can run on the XP machine with win7 drivers?

  • unstable desktop in vista

    Hello

I created a desktop windows with LabVIEW 8.2.1 application which I scoured his built exe file.

In XP and Windows 7, there is no problem, but in Vista, it is unstable. After some little time that they run, he has a problem and it must be closed, with the error message corresponding to Windows Vista (look for the problem in the Internet or close the application).

What is more, after having observed the use of CPU (3-5%) and RAM (22Mo) in Windows 7, it seems not have a problem.

    What may cause this situation?

    Thank you in advance.

I don't have another Vista PC, but if I find one for a while, I wll give it a try.

The executable that is unstable is not unique. I improved the code regularly, so I create a new executable file each time, not a full installer. 3 files that are generated, are the following: * .aliases, *. exe, *.ini.

What is more, all machines work 32-bit windows.

Windows XP 32-bit SP3 with AVG antivirus

Windows Vista SP1 32-bit with Avast antivirus

Windows 7 32 bit SP1 with Windows Security Essentials antivirus

The development system works on Windows 7 Pro 32 bit SP1.

I uninstalled the antivirus Avast and installed the Windows Security Essentials and there is no problem now.

  • 60 seconds Lag Spike Vista

Anyone know if microsoft has released a fix.

For those who do not know the question.  First of all, I have disabled wireless.  During the game, as every 60 seconds vista looks for a better connection, however doing so creates a huge lag spike.  That becomes very boring.  I tried a few suggestions online, but none have worked.    Anyone know if microsoft is aware of this and if a fix is coming?  I really don't think as d/l xp drivers.

  • What is the purpose of the 'neighbourhood' of printing file in each folder Windows Vista user?

It does not printers or links to all printers, even if 7 printers are installed on the computer.

    Hi Casey,.

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community Forums.

Based on the information, you try to find the object of the 'Neighbourhood of print' file in the folder of Windows Vista users.

'Neighbourhood' of printing stores the path to the folder containing shortcuts to printers that you have added to the computer.

These files are called a junction. Junctions work as shortcuts, but in the case of Vista look like standard folders with an arrow. A junction is intended to reorient the programs that access to their to their equivalent of Windows Vista. Since junctions aren't really folders, it is not possible to access, and any attempt to do so will give an "Access denied" error.

    C:\Users\$user$(User Name) \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Printer shortcuts.

    Hope the helps of information.

Restart the service of themes. Click Start, type services and press . Click on continue in the UAC prompt. Locate "Thèmes" in the list and click on it. Click the restart option in the left column. It should find your Vista theme.

  • Vista Ultimate, mac, boot camp and VMware Fusion

Just installed VMware Fusion 2.0 and pulled on my Boot Camp Partition. Vista looks good as a virtual machine, but told me that must be activated and that the product key is already in use. It is a commercial version of Vista and is only installed on the boot camp partition. VMWare support site was not very useful. Any thoughts?

    Hello, Greg Bazhaw,.

Thank you for using the Microsoft Answers forum.  I've heard of virtual systems having this problem, you must activate Windows.

To open Activation of Windows by clicking on the Start button, clicking computer, clicking Properties, and then click on click here to activate Windows now. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Thank you for using answers Forum. Please let us know how it works.

  • How can I change explore the way Vista...

    1. How can I change the way to Vista Explorer (NOT Internet Explorer) highlights a selected item or folder?  At the moment it is transparent and not discernible from the background.
    2. is it possible to have Vista's Explorer expand a folder with a single click as XP, closing the folder previously expanded (in the folders pane) If Yes, how can I do this?
    3. How can I remove the links from above the folder column in Explorer?  It is a waste of space for me.
**. Why Microsoft put links in a folder to the folders in this folder?  All I get is 'click to access the folder' and then a message that I don't have access rights to the folder.  It is a stand alone and I'm the only operator on this subject.  WTF?

As a note to those maintaining the forum, by moving in IE8 Favorites bar, external USB HARD drive no longer works, CAP12 could not extract..., problems with SystemRestore aren't somehow related or similar to my question.

If they have no drivers compatible vista looks like it's time to upgrade your printer to a model compatible vista
