Vista no network no disks available administration database contains an internal inconsistency
From one day to the next day, I got an update of windows for Vista 64. This morning, no network drive connected. I get an error message for all readers:
The connection has not been restored. Google searches only told me to try restarting and change my workgroup. I tried both and was without success. I also tried to disconnect a mapped drive and re-mapping (same error). Other options in addition to trying to roll back all the updates of windows since last night (24 or almost)? -Update, the server is a Linux Fedora machine. I am able to SSH and see that smbd (Samba) is running. I just went to another box of Windows XP. He said was update Windows and gives the same error trying to connect to readers. Thank you Hello Your question of Windows is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited for the IT Pro TechNet public. Please post your question in forum Windows Vista Networking. I've updated the HP Simplepass software to the latest version, however, when I try to confirm my windows identity to access the password manager, I get the error, "the local security authority database contains an internal inconsistency." I understand that this is due to re-create a user profile when a former bearing the same user name already exists. How to access and remove the old profile? I tried to install the HP Protecttools Security Manager, but I moved not because I have the latest version of the HP simplepass Digital Persona software, which seems to be incompatible. Hi all First post and not very technical minded (although not completely clueless) so go easy. In short, I want to upgrade 32-bit vista to 64-bit vista but have no disk. Long story, I have a dell latitude e4300 with professional vista installed on it. I bought the laptop from a company who buys wipes of the company and sells them on. When I bought the laptop it is everything I had... the laptop, manuals, disks etc. I want to increase the memory on the laptop 6 GB but have read that I need 64 bit vista to take advantage of this. So, how can I do this with only the product code for windows? or is this even possible? Thank you very much John "Can I move a version 32-bit Windows to a 64-bit version of Windows?
