  • How to get the Installation of Vista from Toshiba disk?

I work with Microsoft technical support to solve a security problem on my Satellite Pro A210 and were now required to use a Vista installation disc.

Microsoft says that I am entitled to an installation of the original provider of my kit disc - Toshiba. But we're not happened with my laptop - only a recovery disc has been provided.

How can I go on the acquisition of an installation of Vista from Toshiba disk?

    Kind regards

    Kevin C.

With Toshiba laptop, you'll get the Toshiba CD/DVD facilities only.
This recovery media is designed for your laptop only.

Installations from Microsoft Vista disc is not given and there is no way to get it from Toshiba.

Microsoft can offer that you support if you only use Microsoft installations CD. Using this disk, you can install and repair Vista on each portable office/computer option. Unfortunately with the restore disc it will not work.

  • Windows Vista Home Premium - Disk Defragmenter will analyse but not defragment

Windows Vista Home Premium Disk Defragmenter does not work properly.  It will analyze the disks and say they need to be defragmented, but when I click "Defragment now" he begins to analyze again.  It keeps analyzing and telling me to defragment however it defragments never really.  Please PLEASE HELP - it's so frustrating. Thank you =)

    Hi islgrl10,

Alternatively, you can also view the partition on which you try to run disk defragmentation, it may be corrupt or have some bad sectors that might have prevented disk defragmentation utility runs successfully.

To check for errors on a partition,

    1. click on Start button, and then type command prompt and run as administrator.
    2. in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f and press to enter.
    3. When you are asked to plan the check disk on the next reboot, type 'y' or 'Yes' and restart your computer to run the utility chkdsk on your computer.

    Help, please...

    Hi dynamitenews

    1. are you able to boot to the desktop?
    2. what happens when you try to start the computer?

You must have the DVD drive to start the computer using the disk, you cannot use the external hard drive to do the same thing.

Also I suggest you to make sure you have defined the start as CD/DVD-Rom as the first choice option in the BIOS. See below the help link-
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/BIOS-frequently-asked-questions

If nothing is done, then you can contact the manufacturer support for assistance on setting up the correct boot sequence and check.

    BIOS WARNING-

    I hope this helps.

  • After formatting of vista management linux disk & disk restart does not start

    Hi all

    Please help me

    Thank you very much

    Hello

This could happen if the startup for Windows Vista file is affected when you formatted the partition containing Linux. You can first try running the Startup Repair tool, if this does not help then you can try to rebuild the BCD (Boot Configuration data).

Note: you can perform the steps only if you have the Windows Vista installation disc.

    Method 1:

Run the Startup Repair tool by booting from the installation DVD. Follow the link to do the same.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/startup-repair-frequently-asked-questions

    Method 2:

Rebuild the BCD using the Windows Vista installation disc and check if that helps to start the desktop. Follow the link to do the same.

  • VMware Vista support physical disk device does not not for some VM.

I handle Win2k8 64 bit vm on esx5.5 Update 2 which are evidence of "Disk of Vista VMware help" have the error "this device is not present, is not working properly or is not all its drivers installed." (Code 24) ». Versions of VMware Tools vary, either 9.4.0 9.4.5 build-1585188, build-1598834 or 9.4.10 build-2068191.

Google missed most of the time. I can't find any information on what concrete this virtual device is or what it does in particular, except that it may be involved in the creation of snapshots suspended.

In addition, the device seems to be attached to the vmrawdsk service, which does not exist on the server. These virtual machines were not P2V, they have been created since iso win.

One guess what it is and how I might be able to fix it?

I got it on a working server my copy on the file vmrawdsk.sys missing a server well-known, uninstall VMware Tools, restart, reinstall it and restart again. Then the VMware Vista support physical disk device / service vmrawdisk are working normally.

  • Vista 64-bit, DISK BOOT FAILURE

So I have this Acer Aspire AX3200-U3600A with Windows Vista (64-bit). Every night I turn it off and turn it back on in the morning.

About three weeks ago, I did a factory fresh reimage. Good as new.

Then about two days ago, when I turned it on, I noticed it was running extremely slow. As in, he would often freeze while I had several applications open when it froze usually never upward. So I decided to restart my computer. Big mistake.

My computer froze right after that I clicked on stop. I waited some time. Nothing. Waited a few minutes. Nope. I decided to stop it by pressing the power button. Here is where the problems begin.

When I turned it back on, I saw the bar logo and loading of Windows, and then load to black. I turned it off again with force by the power button / stop and then once more... then I got:

AMD data change... Update new data on a DMI interface!

then later clears the screen and I get:

AHCI Option ROM BIOS revision: 01.05.92 Date: 19/02/2008 Copyright (c) 2006-2008 Phoenix Technologies, LTD. Port 01: Reset Port error! Port 02:

then the screen clears again, but this time it loads from the bottom:

NVIDIA Boot Agent 249.0542 (copyright stuff... blah blah) PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable. PXE - M0F: Released Nvidia Boot Agent DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND press ENTER.

So, I try to go to Safe Mode. Well, first it loads faster. After it loads disk.sys fromwindows/pilots, he waits a while (2-3 minutes) and THEN load. However, it loads the Acer eRecovery Management Tool. I have three options: reset the computer to factory, restore the backup of the user, or output. However, the upper part, two options are gray and disabled so that the output is in blue and certainly clickable. Secure mode so obviously isn't here...

A strong thing to note: Initially when this all started, I made a start Windows Normal pressing f8 and I arrived at my office! It me logged in. I could see the icons on my files. However, my office was extremely slow as in when I clicked on the start menu, he'd wait awhile, and then load the menu with JUST the gradient, no text or icons... so as you can see... He saw my HARD drive?

Also, before anyone says, I no. plugged USB. My mouse and keyboard are not entered USB, I assure you. And it came without a recovery CD AND when I went into the BIOS, to change the BOOT ORDER, I have NOT seen a CD-ROM option. And when I tried pressing ALT + F10 to enter Acer eRecovery Management, the options of two albums have been disabled as well.

But sometimes, on startup, I get:

Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer.

This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device, such as a USB external drive when the appliance is used, or by faulty hardware such as a hard drive or the CD-ROM drive which is a failure. Make sure that all removable storage is properly connected, and then restart your computer.

If you continue to receive this error message, contact the manufacturer of the equipment.

    Status: 0xc00000e9

Info: An unexpected i/o error has occurred.

Then I tried the last known good Configuration settings, which gives me a BSOD.

    What should I do

    Hello

This explains the reasons for this error

    http://forums.techguy.org/hardware/104472-solved-PXE-E61-media-test.html

Chances are that it is a hard failure.

Go to the Acer Web site > find specifications of hardware in your computer (hard drive) > access the Web Hard Drive from the manufacturer site > download their diagnostic software > make a Bootable disc > test your hard drive.

The recovery set supplied with the computer should find the default computer.  Probably will not even need to enter the key.

Don't forget to patch (probably manually) with SP1 and SP2 after you're done.  Then download the updates (MUCH) released after that.

    Hello

You cannot use a Dell DVD of Vista on a HP computer.

The computer manufacturer named DVD are related to their particular brand / model computers (OEM license)

Contact HP and ask them to send you a set of recovery disc Vista for your model of HP number.

Normally, they do this for a small fee.

If you use the correct recovery of HP to activate disk do not require a product key for input on your part, as it goes without saying on this computer HP corresponding during the installation process.

I went in the Adim tools/disk management & demand if I want to 'initialze disc' which gives two options "use the following disk partition style" MBR or GPT. • If I do not have a windows vista sp2 install disk how can I erase all programs and files from the laptop?

I would remove ALL of my laptop which is running vista Sp2 and I have not a disk to install it from what can do?

    Hello

Here are the different ways to reinstall Vista

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

    ____________________________________________________________

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

    __________________________________________________________

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

  • How install to reinstall Windows Vista without a disk on Ubuntu Linux (although I have a valid product key)?

I have an Acer Aspire 3100 computer laptop comes with Windows Vista, I am not on the number of bits, sure that the processor in this system supports 64-bit operating systems. I was curious to know if there was a way for me to download Windows Vista from Microsoft online and burn it to a CD or a DVD if I have a valid product key supplied with the system. Is it possible to do this? Thank you.

    You can not download Vista.

In this case, you may be able to buy Acer recovery disks, if you have not created some when you first the computer.

If you can borrow a Vista DVD (a copy retail, not supplied by manufacturer), you can reinstall since using your product key.
