Vista. virus systemtool2011

I have vista and this morning I got this virus. Can't do anything. It has almost everything stop.

I have one on a friends computer to try to solve this problem. When I look at online such as solutions, restart the F8 safe mode key, no luck. Or, go into msconfig, and then select Safe mode to start all the time. Well, not 'run '. Tried a search, corrupted file.

What to do next? If I can't start in safe mode, how is this going to get fixed?

    Hi jellybean.

MSCONFIG will help only if the problem only occurs at startup - not if it occurs randomly during the day (unless a malicious software program is installed in the startup programs, but then it is a malware problem and not really a problem of program).

It doesn't sound like you are infected, and before you try all of the other fixes, we should exclude.  I guess you have run a full scan with any security software you use and he come clean - but only one program is not enough and the best is to try several and eventually obtain the assistance of an expert or the confirmation (or work around the personal effort and request the assistance of experts from the beginning).  Please proceed as follows:

First, try the following programs if you do not, because they can help. I recommend you download, install, update and run full scans with Malwarebytes:http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and SuperAntiSpyware:http://superantispyware.com/ and then run a full scan of Microsoft Security:http://www.microsoft.com/security/default.aspx. This may or may not remove the infections, but will probably not correct the damage caused by them. Even if they or your current AV software seem to work or indicate that you are not infected, you should not completely trust in them and must continue with the recommendations that follow (so it's up to you if you want to try them first, or just ignore all this and get help from an expert you really need as described below).

Correctly and completely remove these infections can be complex and often require manual removal procedures (which may or may not be entirely effective either). Even if they work, I suggest what follows in any case, so that we can start it (you can ignore the methods above if you want it really is the way forward, but it won't hurt to them for trying).

  • Stuck in Safe Mode - Vista - viruses? Driver problem? Help, please

I'm operating Vista Home Premium and only the system starts in Mode safe.  Several vertical lines in a model of 5 show on the screen as it tries to start. He is stuck in a loop of repair of unsuccessul attempts but I can't us F8 to go into Safe Mode, no problem.

Normal system repair did not work. System Restore to a watch in which the system was working did not work (went back 2 weeks).  I thought it might be a video driver error, but new updates of drivers did not fix the problem still could be the problem?  It will not Norton scan (although my anti virus has expired four days before what is happening). I uncheck all startup items and confirmed that in Normal Mode with the system configuration. None of this has worked.

I bought an external hard drive to transfer all my data on that I agree with setting back to factory settings, but it will not recognize the new external drive in safe mode.   -Why is this?

    Hi ColtsBlue,

    ·         Did you of recent changes on the computer that could have caused this start happening?

    ·         Are you able to scan the machine with something other than Norton?

Method 1: If you have the disks for Windows Vista try a startup repair and verification.

Method 2: This can happen if the video card drivers do not work or is corrupted so uninstalling and reinstalling might solve the problem several times so try uninstall the drivers from Device Manager. Follow the steps below:

    1. Click Start, in the search box type Device Manager and press to enter.

    2. Device Manager window opens, expand sound, video and game controllers.

    3. double click and go to the tab drivers.

    Thank you in advance, Ric.

    Hello Ric Buckmiller,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

What specific Windows Vista virus protection software are you talking about?  Windows Vista will be usually comes with Windows Defender.  Windows Defender is software that helps protect your computer against the pop-ups, slow performance and threats caused by the software security spyware and other unwanted software to detect and remove spyware on your computer. Windows Defender Protection features in real time, a monitoring system that recommends actions against spyware when it's detected, minimizes interruptions, and helps you to remain productive.  Yes you can use it with antivirus software.

Currently, Microsoft has an antivirus software on beta.  http://www.Microsoft.com/security_essentials/support.aspx
If you have this downloaded, it advised that you can always use another software antivirus at this time.

Or you are referring to Windows LiveOneCare?  Please let us know status.  Thank you!

How to uninstall any other antivirus or firewall program?

Before installing Windows Live OneCare, please make sure that you uninstall completely any existing antivirus or firewall program that may be on your computer.

This step is very important, no matter what protection software you use, because installing one antivirus or firewall program over another on the same computer could potentially lock up the computer.

Note: If you do want to keep the ability to reinstall your old antivirus or a firewall program in the future, make sure you have the original product CD (or a backup program disk) before you begin uninstalling.

    Hello

Even if your removed some malware a very intense and thorough check is prudent. How

No one program cannot be used to detect and remove any malware. Added that often easy
to detect malicious software often comes with a much harder to detect and remove the payload. Then

There are actually a couple of issues here, so I'll answer this better that I can, like some of the answers that I don't know about you:

The RnR function still works, in that you in to F11 in the box predesktop and recovering files, save the files and so on.  I'm not sure is catering to the part content factory.  I hope that this does not work, although I have not tested.  A little explanation:

Vista uses a service on the front of the drive partition (you'll see it in disk management).  XP, on the other hand, uses a partition of service at the back of the car.  So, this can cause some problems.  What will do RnR when installed on XP, so it's looking for an SP at the rear of the car.  What I think will happen (yet again, I have not tested it) so is that since the RnR won't find a service partition on the back of the car, it will install in verse predesktop area a virtual partition on the C drive.  Hit F11/ThinkVantage then will begin on this virtual partition and it will work normally for rescue files/restore from backup/single file restoration purposes.  I don't know if this EP area not unaware of the content of plant information in the service partition Vista original at the front of the car, even if I wasn't expecting.

As a safety net, if you create a rescue RnR CD in Vista before wiping of the load of Vista and install XP, start since Rescue CD probably detect the content of plant and you data you can restore that way.

My apologies for all the warnings and the absence of some responses in some areas, but as I said, I have not tested this.

    Hope this info helps.

  • I have Windows Vista and when running Norton 360, they said that I had in somee virus in my backup files. How can I remove them?

I want to delete old backup files. Some of these files have a virus in them. If I completely delete these files and run a new backup it will accomplish what I want.

I asked a similar question on the removal of all my backup files in my hard drive external and asked if I would get a full file backup or just backup incemental.
I asked this question to Windows Vista, IT Pro.
    The answer is:
Windows uses something known as bits archive to determine if changes have been
to files.if you completely delete the contents of the backup media, then it should do a full backup has the following appendix, because at that time, windows has nothing to compare data from the computer with.

Based on the response I received, you should have a backup of files complete "sound".

  • In Windows Vista Home Basic automatic updates, anti virus updates and scans, etc. are not made during the night while the computer is in sleep.

Using Microsoft® Windows Vista Home Basic Version 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 Build 6001, I have my computer set up to install updates automatic update and scan with my AVG antivirus 8.5 from one day to the next, while the computer is in sleep. In the morning, when I wake up the computer it alerts me that there are updates available, and I have to click the balloon to install the updates. Meanwhile my anti virus is update solange wake up also. Both are supposed to occur automatically during the night. Shouldn't these scheduled etc. updates works even if the computer is asleep?

    Hi daglo1963,

Thanks for posting on the Forum of responses of Vista.

When Vista is in "standby", like updating the activity is suspended.

    I hope this helps.

Judging strictly from your post it looks like you have too many malware scanners installed which can decrease your overall protection in the end.

No matter what scanners you used, please follow the instructions below. Reply back with the results and include a list of all malware/antivirus scanners software that are currently installed on your computer.

Restart the computer in Safe Mode with network. Click HERE. Download Malwarebytes. Update Malwarebytes and perform a scan.  Choose whether to remove anything found. Once completed click HERE and download Superantispyware Portable. Perform a quick scan again remove anything found.

  • Vista Antivirus a scam and a virus itself? I can't access my laptop at all now them! Help!

I couldn't access internet because the Antivirus Vista kept blocking me.  He said I had all kinds of virus and you need to get rid of them.  He said that I could go on, but it would be dangerous for my laptop.  I didn't buy any agreement at the time so I pressed this button.  He took me in circles so that the only way that I could access my internet was for the purchase contract.  AND NOW I CAN NOT AT ALL ON MY LAPTOP!  I'm on my home desktop version.

How can I get rid of this?  Is it really a virus in itself?  I lost all my information stored on my laptop?

When I turn it on I hear a high-pitched noise and flickering icons that used I can access.  In fact, I can't access anything whatsoever.  It wouldn't start even down when I do CTRL ALT DELETE.  I actually turn off with the same results that I boot up (flickering of the icons that will let me open anything).

Did I just buy a scam, but also a virus?  Is there a phone number or anyway for me to get my laptop back up for delete AND GET MY MONEY BACK?

For those of you thinking of buying this, I wouldn't NOT SUGGEST.

    Hello, Cyndi

Try to start your computer in safe mode. If you're able to boot in safe mode, follow the steps indicated by SpiritX under the following link to remove the program: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie8-windows_other/how-do-i-get-rid-of-antivirus-vista-2010/e416f5a6-8ddb-4564-8aa3-f0ae6cdfe5f6

To start in safe mode, shut down your computer and then turn it on, press F8 repeatedly while it starts and you must come to the advanced boot screen asking what you want to do, select Mode safe mode with networking.
