VM Windows does not recognize the additional disk allocation

I'm under Win XP Home in a virtual machine using Fusion v2.0.5 on a MacBook Pro (OS X 10.5.7).)  I had initially allocated 20 GB virtual machine, but now I need a little more space.  I stop the virtual machine, attributed to another 5 GB, and Fusion rebuilt the virtual machine.  I then started to Win XP, and it always reports 20 GB.  What gives?  I can see the VM files on the OS X side have been increased and merger indicates the size of the disc (25 GB) in its dialog box settings to the hard drive.  Any suggestions?

Thank you

Scott

  • Windows does not recognize the .themepack files

    Hello

Microsoft, I downloaded several .themepack files.  I have Windows 7 Home Premium (32 bit), and it does not recognize the files.  In other words, when I click on the files, they do not open and install.

" Strangely, when I click the .themepack file properties, it says"Opens with"the" Windows Shell common DLL. "Still more strangely, when I go in the file Extensions Manager in Control Panel, the .themepack extension does not appear.

I tried to reboot, etc.  Is there a way to fix this?  Otherwise, there is a long workaround solution that I can do to get funds from the .themepack file and install it manually?

  • Windows does not recognize the Powershot A85 digital camera

my camera is plugged in the Device Manager it is said that it works correctly, but it is not recognized by my windows 7 ultimate can someone help

    Hello Roderick,

Thanks for posting your question on the forum of the Microsoft community.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.

    1. do you receive a code or message when you say, "it is not recognized by my windows 7 ultimate?

    2. is the specific question to all USB devices?

It seems that the USB drivers are corrupt because of which Windows does not recognize your camera. We will work together to solve the problem.

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:
Run the hardware and devices Troubleshooter and check.
    Reference:
Open the hardware and devices Troubleshooter
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-hardware-and-devices-Troubleshooter

If this does not help, then use method 2.

    Method 2:
Controllers USB reinstall and check the issue.

This method addresses the steps where the USB driver currently loaded became unstable or corrupted. Please follow these steps:

    a. Click Start, type Manager of devices in the start search box, then click on 'Device Manager' in the list programs.

    b. develop a 'USB Bus controllers'. Right click on a device, and then click "Uninstall".

    c. repeat the above steps for each device.

    d. Once completed, restart your computer.

    USB controllers will automatically install.

    I hope this information helps.

Please let us know if you need more help.

    Thank you

  • Windows does not recognize the DVD drive at startup

Laptop: Dell E6410 ATG wt / verzion A15 Bios

OS: Windows 7 SP1 with the latest updates.

The question I have is when I log on Windows 7, the laptop does not recognize the DVD drive. The reader will not be displayed in my computer or Device Manager. I can get around this physically ejecting the disc and reinsert. If I do this drive appears in my computer Windows and Device Manager. It will read DVDs and CDs fine. I am able to reproduce the problem above mentioned question if I restart the laptop. If I restart the laptop the DVD drive won't be recognized and reinsert the drive will get it appears again.

This problem occurs if I try a DVD - RW drive and an old DVD - ROM drive. If I go into the BIOS before windows, I can see the BIOS recognizing drives ok but not when initially get into Windows without having to eject and inserting the disc.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I guess that this must be a hardware problem then.

    Seems odd.

The only other thing I can think of, after reinstalling W7, is a BIOS problem eventually. A strange setting it may be an older version of BIOS with a bug in it. If you decide to update the bios, make sure that you get the latest version for your make and model PC and follow the instructions. You can destroy a PC with bad BIOS or update the procedure.

  • S5-1060 casing dvd player does not recognize the Bluray disks after you restore windows 7

I have a s5-1060 casing with a HP DH12E3LH bluray player, recently the computer was so I took out the restore disks and just do a fresh install of windows 7, it works fine now, BUT the only thing I can't understand is why my bluray in unity player not to see, recognize or play blurays now.

The Device Manager shows the best drivers are already installed (21/06/2006 microsoft 6.1.7601.17514 driver), and he will play CD, DVD, just does not recognize a bluray disc.  I might say, we watched top of 25-30 movies on it so I 'hope' is not burned or something altogether.

It indicates that the device is working properly in Device Manager he calls it a cdrom drive (not sure if it matters), but with a bluray in the drive, it shows under properties / status / no media in the drive.

I'm not really sure where to start on this, drivers seem strange to be so old, is it a firmware I can update if so where can I get that info, I went to the hp site let it detect the computer saw the driver updated but nothing which was directly related to the cdrom drive.

Thanks for any help on this just stumped at this point, as it was working before the full restoration to the computer using the recovery disks, then there must be something simple.

  • Used to boot Windows - does not recognize the hard drive

Hello. I had my computer laptop vostro dell for 5 years, and I've never had a problem. A few weeks ago, I was starting, and I got the blue screen of death. I had the same thing when I rebooted. I bought a SATA dock for recover my files, so I could format it and start from scratch. However, the dock does not detect my HARD drive, although I hear the disc running. I tried to connect a Dell Latitude docking station to transfer the files, but the Latitude does not recognize my HDD ether. Vostro runs XP Home Edition and Zorin OS, Latitude anime XP Pro. HHD in question is a 120 GB Western Digital Scorpio for drinking devices. Help, please.

You boot from the disk and choose "Try without Unbuntu and change to your computer"?. Honestly, it looks that you have installed. In addition, using raid with Windows Xp support?

If you have chosen to 'Try' Unbuntu I recommend now you run chkdsk /r from the recovery console. The problem is not with the hard drive probably, but with the file system.

Download WIndows Xp Recovery Console from HERE. Save the file to your desktop. You will need to burn the iso image to a blank cd using the same way you did to the image ISO of Unbuntu ImgBurn. Although the instructions below refer to a Windows disk, the disk from the Recovery Console that you create will do the same.

    1. Insert the Windows XP CD in your CD-ROM drive and restart your computer. If you are prompted, select any options needed to start (boot) on the CD.

    2. when the text portion of Setup begins, follow the prompts. Select the repair or recovery option by pressing R.

    3. If you have a dual-boot or multiboot system, select the installation that you want to access from the Recovery Console.

    4. When you are prompted, type the administrator password. If you have not set a password for the account admin simply press on enter

    5. at the command prompt, type chkdsk/r > press ENTER. (Note: there is a space between the slash and the letter k).

    6. at the end of the output of scan type > press ENTER.

    7 restart your computer.

I got the volume of unmountable boot blue screen, then tried to adapt to a new samsung drive. I put in my windows disc it will load all the drivers, then says that there is no hard drive?
In the bios, it recognizes it?

    Thanks if anyone can help

    Hello

The problem is that your laptop supports the SATA HDD controller but the system OS does not contain the SATA drivers
You can assign in the compatible SATA mode BIOS.
This allows you to install the operating system without installation of the SATA drivers.

  • Replacing the hard drive T60 - Windows does not recognize the hard drive

Hello all, new to the community of Lenovo. I have a T60, but also the latest Lenovo Edge. HD crashed on the T60 and it will boot is no longer. I just bought a 500 GB WD without doing a lot of research. When trying to install Windows 7 (I had already updated the T60) it will not recognize the new drive - Windows does not drive at all. Is there a way to get the Lenovo to recognize the WD drive? Thanks in advance for any help.

Looks like you're doing something wrong, if the drive is a SATA it should work, install it and boot from your windows installation DVD and it will be the installation drive and shaped for you, or you can optionally set the partitions manually when you are prompted to do so. If you try to do something unusual such as transfer windows on the old drive then you will need to explain exactly what you did because I see no reason it should not work. Infact I did it several times myself.

  • Windows does not recognize the iPod device

installs of XP | Files, folders & storage>

    Windows 7 Pro.

My iPod Touch will contact the iTunes computer software, but the computer won't recognize as a device, so pictures and videos cannot be transferred back through Explorer or software with call Explorer.

A Google search seems to suggest that many face the same problem, but none of the proposed fixes work.  Device Manager or Explorer does not show the iPod.

Oddly, this function worked at one point and there are several pictures and videos to the iPod, but now they cannot be removed or add others.

I think that it is essentially a problem of iPod, but I hope that help Windows will help me solve the problem.

I will move this thread to the neighborhood where you posted for the region of Windows 7, but if the following does not help, you should probably ask your question in Apple's iTunes for--> https://discussions.apple.com/community/itunes/itunes_for_windows in the Windows XP forum

It seems to me that if the driver for the iPod is not installed or is corrupted.  It may seem like overkill, but I suggest to remove completely all Apple software and then put it back.  This should not affect your iTunes library (music, etc.), but it is always prudent to make a backup before doing anything like that.
