VMware-cmd: not found
I'm pretty new to ESXi. I had active SSH. Connected to it.
Now, I want to do a job on the vm images (problem with my snapshots going not to far away).
In any case, when I try to run the "vmware-cmd - l" command it gives me:
"- ashes: vmware-cmd: not found".
What gives? What could be wrong?
VMware-cmd is not available in the console not supported for ESXi Busybox
You will need to use the vCLI which has a remote version of vmware-cmd

I try to install Oracle JDeveloper 12 c on Windows 7, but I get the error 'Property CMD' not found in autorun.inf, when I run the file directly.
If I run Oracle installer (as an administrator), I get the file "corrupted", but I think it is misleading.
Google search, this seems to always point to that here where it says
Previously, I had a compatibility issue when installing Oracle Developer (forms, Designer, reports and JDeveloper10g), I corrected as saying that must be run on Windows XP SP2, and that did the trick. But I don't see anything about compatibility via the google search for this problem.
When the exe file is run some tests pre - req gets run as 64-bit JVM and Swap space. The other machine may not have the pre - req.

VMware esx 3.5 have problem "a file is not found.
Dear all,
I have the problem of VMWARE, on 8 July 09 my site has esx003 restart node (cannot use vmotion because this node is independent), but 2 moments can not start and displays the error message:
1. a file not found.
2. turn on/off a virtual machine fails
3 hard files are missing.
Please help me to find out the root cause
Note: I found a link of reference of similar problem and how to solve it, but not sure it's exactly the same problem I can follow it or not: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1003743
The datstore view is fine. That you see only files hard.
There is only one HARD drive attached to this virtual machine? Please also browse the data store on the SC and see if you can see one - file flat.vmdk. If the file is there, the disc should be fine.
Please also check the vmx file to confirm if the path of the HARD drive is correct.
Hope this helps!

Hi all
I have EliteBook 8560p.
I make Format of CMD and now my hard drive is empty.
When starting the following message: "not found BootDevice, please install an operating system on your hard drive.
can somebdoy help me with this problem?
Thank you all!
Hello:
See if it works...
Download the drivers from this link below (first or second file listed - 32 or 64 bit depending on the case).
Extract the files on a usb flash drive.
With the flash player and the installation of W7 media connected to the computer, boot from the installation of W7 media.
After selecting the install now option, select the training - Advanced menu, Options and select the option load a driver.
You should now see the storage driver files listed.
If you check the box, it only includes the compatible driver.
Follow the prompts and should install W7.
If this does not work, see please see this related thread.
If the info on the thread I posted does not work, then I think that the installation of Windows Media is defective.

Instead of queryReferences(), use the queryIdRecords() method.
RefRes ReferenceResult = queryService.queryIdRecords (QueryRecordType.ADMINORGVDC);
{for (RecordResult
RV: {refRes.getRecords ())}
If (vr.getName () .equals (vdcName)) {}
VCC = Vdc.getVdcById (admin, vr.getId ());}
In this way don't worry about whether the returned reference (containing href, mediatype and name) is API-API/Admin user.
ORGVDC - request user Org/tenant - this will not work if you are a user/Admin Org.
ADMINORGVDC - query the system Admin user - this will not work if you are a system administrator.
Kind regards

VMware workstation 8.0 OS not found
I am using Vcenter converter std 5.0 only to convert vhd image vmdk image, create the new virtual machine using vmware Workstation 8. But window 2003 server fail to initialize. Error message "operating systems" not found CD/DVD setting pointing to the w2k3test.vmdk picture. Please help me solve the problem.
Thank you very much

As I said in my previous post, the VMDK file is the virtual HARD DISK, not an ISO image! Do not point the CD-ROM drive to the vmdk file - it will only complicate things. The vmdk file must be set on the hard disk.

VMware View Manager admin page not found
Hello!
I just installed VMware see connection to the server, and I am trying to open http://localhost/admin but the page is not found!
What service use this webservice? (I can't find it under services)
Any ideas?
(I installed the version 4.5 on a Windows 2003 R2 and the installation was successful)
VMware View component framework provides the event logging, security and services COM + framework for View Manager. This service must be running for the proper functioning of View Manager.
One more note, you cannot connect to the Administrator display via a Web browser when the SSL setting for your customers to view is not compatible with the URL that you use to connect to view administrator. If you disable the SSL parameter, you can not use the https protocol in the URL.
Have you tried https://localhost/admin instead of http://localhost/admin?
Best regards

VMware-cmd persistent / not persistent does not work in vsphere / esx4?
Hello
We have a problem with the definition of a State of non-persistent disk with a script - something that we used to be able to do with ESX 3.5
On ESX 3.5, this used to work:
# vmware - cmd XPROUTER.vmx scsi0:0.mode independent-no persistent setconfig
On ESX 4.0, the statement runs as follows and does not return anything - that is:
# vmware - cmd XPROUTER.vmx scsi0:0.mode independent-no persistent setconfig
Neither does not change the .vmx or the State of SCSI0.0 in the GUI.
Also, if I try to edit the .vmx with text editor line.
scsi0:0.mode = persistent "independent-no.
The change does not appear in the GUI configuration...
Looking at vmware-cmd reference V-sphere, it seems that the order to setconfig is gone?
What method can be used to assign a disk of the machine non-persistent / persistent command-line on ESX 4.0?
Thanks in advance!
That's right, which was removed from vSphere, I think that it might have been some curiosities and items in the past with the command and perhaps removed all together. Technically, the vmware-cmd is an obsolete utility. You'll probably want to take a look at using vCLI or PowerCLI to reconfigure your VM to fire the drive persistent or not persistent.
You can take a look at the vSphere SDK for Perl, there are a variety of scripts that allow for the wide range of operations against your vCenter, the host and the VM (s): http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/viperltoolkit/viperl40/doc/vsperl_util_index.html. That would be of interest is vmreconfig.pl http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/viperltoolkit/viperl40/doc/vmreconfig.html , you will find that you will be able to update your disc mode.

VMware - cmd.pl on VIMA does not work with vi-fastpass
I have executed 1.0 VIMA and have an ESXi 3.5u3 as my virtual server. When I run vmware - cmd.pl - l command I always get challenged for username/password name. According to the documentation if I get the vi-fastpass enabled on the server, all RCLi controls function without requiring additional authentication.
Any ideas.
If you take a look on the VIMA release notes in the known issues section: http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/vima/vima10/vima10relnotes.html
Some remote CLI commands do not vi-fastpass support
Description: CLI remote svmotion, vmware-cmd and resxtop commands do not vi-fastpass support.
All three of those who can't stand vi-fastpass including vmware - cmd.pl

Hello everyone this is my first post!
I am currently running Ubuntu 8.10 (x86_64) and Converter 4.0 installation has been completed successfully. I'm running into a problem when running command "vmware-converter-client", I get the following error...
exec: 206: / usr/lib/vmware-vcenter-converter-standalone/converter-gui: not found
I searched the forum but I can't seem to find anything that refers to this specific error. I've seen other posts that do not include this error, but are usually accompanied by a missing library etc...
I even tried to run the executable files in the directory/var/lib/vmware-vmware-vcenter-converter-standalone directly, but then, I get the following errors...
bash:. / vmware converter: no such file or directory
bash:. / Converter-gui: no such file or directory
The files are obviousely there!
