  To answer my own question; I had to reinstall my kernel-devel package to make it work:

  [promp] t # yum reinstall kernel-devel

  [quick] # cp /usr/src/kernels/3.7.2-201.fc18.x86_64/include/generated/uapi/linux/version.h /lib/modules/3.7.2-201.fc18.x86_64/build/include/linux/

  [quick] # /bin/vmware-config-tools.pl

  And now my shared folders work!

  I updated the kernel, now when I run vmware-config - tools.pl, I get the attached result ending in "abandoned Execution." Ideas?

  This does not happen with newly released patches.

  If you are not ready to upgrade the latest patches of the ESX host, you can also try to force load modules or try to recompile all modules by using the command "" vmware-config - tools.pl - compile ".

  The other (crude) way is to get the last iso linux tools of any other host ESX-4 (with the latest patches) and goes up on the virtual machine and proceed with the installation.

  Please also check if this happens in a new profile. If the new profile is correct, you can later copy the necessary personal data of the old profile. Firefox stores your personal data and settings in a different location (folder profile) separated from its files/folder. A new profile would default Firefox settings (Tools (Alt + T) > Options, and topic: config ) and usually also would be vacuum of Extensions and themes (appearance) in tools > Add-ons) and their parameters. In addition, a new profile would have no previous website stored data/settings etc, (Tools > clear recent history).

  I tried to make the new "integration of UC for sametime" to work. I used the previous version 8.6.2 successfully in our environment.

  Now the problem with version 9.0.1: config tool just does not save files on the update_site.

  There is always a java error when I try to save the configuration.

  Phone control and presence settings SAVE FAILED: Exception when saving: java.lang.NullPointerException

  If you do not see 'Tools', then you do not have your active 'Menu Bar'.
  See picture below on the activation of all the toolbars make life easier.

  Different methods of location of the 'account settings ':

  • Give an appropriate file name and click "create a folder".

  When the Inbox is empty:

  • Logon to the Web e-mail account by using a browser.
  • Move all emails "Sent" in the "Inbox".

  In thunderbird:

  • Click on 'Get the message'

  all the "Sent" emails must get downloaded from the server Inbox anto your Inbox in Thunderbird.

  • Then move all your emails in the 'Sent' Thunderbird folder.

  You should now have all these emails downloaded from the server and display in Thunderbird.

  I had this problem and made me crazy for several days. I think that the problem is related to a question of the time stamp (if you work in another time zone that the host/Adobe servers, the servers will be think that the file is new up to several hours have elapsed, i.e. when your modification time corresponds to the time of the local server).   It doesn't seem to be a Player 3.1 + to Linux network configuration tool.  I've seen several threads referencing this need (or rather than the tool is now missing but once existed).  The last comment (question) on this subject was in May 2010.

  I realize that player account is free, so I don't expect VMware's priority attention; However, if it is not resolved, I, like others, go out and examine options not VMware for virtualization in Linux.  But since the construction of a very effective, data center performance on ESX a few years ago, I was a fan of VMware products.

  Why are there no network - vmware-config.pl more?

  Do not know why the vmnetcfg tool has been removed in VMplayer 3

  For now, you can use this nasty workaround:

  Uninstall vmplayer

  Download the last workstation - full version

  Install it

  run without license

  This may block the virtual machines running via the vmware.exe - GUI, but it will allow the use of vmplayer

• Question about several popular vm with the same kernel version

  So, I have been informed that ESX is smart enough for to run several virtual machines with the exact same kernel that it loads only one instance of the kernel in memory for all of them so that it saves space in RAM. This seems quite remarkable to me, and I'd like to see if VMWare has any white papers or other documents on this. I'd like to believe it's true, but it seems incredible to believe.

  Is this really how ESX functions? If I have 10 XP SP3 machines with the same level and exact same version of the kernel patch, VMWware won't really load only one instance of the core XP in RAM to separate the 10 machines? If he does that, how handles when 10 machines all want access to the same statement in kernel mode at the same time separate?

  Welcoem to the Forums - ESX will actually 10 instances of the core of the customer even if they are the same OS - but once loaded using Transparent Page Sharing the vmkernel (the o/s of the ESX Server) can recognize identical pages and store them a time-read only memory - if the virtual machine tries to write to that page a copy and writing is done - if this new page is another page in memory that one instance is maintained. This saves a TON of memory-
