VMWare Fusion 6.0.5: Could not open/dev/vmmon: no such file or directory.

I've been running VMWare Fusion 6 on my MacBook Pro with the Mavericks for quite awhile.  I just got a Mac Mini with Yosemite and I want to copy one of my virtual machines of the MBP to the Mini.

I tried to just copy the vmware.vm of the MBP to the Mini but when I open it and try to start it I get the following errors:

  • Unable to open/dev/vmmon: no such file or directory.

Please ensure that the "vmmon" kernel module is loaded.

  • Could not initialize the surveillance apparatus.
  • Internal error

I also tried to import the vmware.wm file, but it is always grayed out.

How can I copy a virtual machine from one Mac to another?

Hi atj777,

Are you absolutely certain that this is Fusion 6.0.5, you're there?  Fusion 6.0.4 and earlier would fail on Yosemite the way you describe.  There are many other possible causes of the same error message, but it would be the first thing I would check a second time.  (My apologies if you have already verified!)

What version of Yosemite are you running?  10.10.2?

It can also be useful to restart your Mac to see if that helps... sometimes he does.

To answer your question directly: simply copy the ".vmwarevm" package on the whole should be enough.  The message you see is a generic merge error and has nothing to do with the copy process.

See you soon,.

I'll have a plethora of problems installing and get VMware Workstation 9 (9.0.2 build-1031769) to work on Ubuntu 13.04 (kernel 3.8.0 - 26-generic).

I experienced exactly the same process on my laptop and it works perfectly, while on the desktop, it seems that everything breaks. Could someone give me some kind of help / advice on how I can do to get this working. I tried full uninstall / reinstall of the software, headers of the kernel, kernel images, different kernels, patches here on fresh installs of everything I can think of. Here are the issues I encounter in the order of importance (or so I think):

    (1) whenever I try to open my new (and virtual) machine, I get the error sequence of:

"Could not open/dev/vmmon: no such file or directory. " Please make sure that the "vmmon" kernel module is loaded. '--> 'Failed to initialize the device monitor. "->" cannot change the power state of VM: could not find a valid peer to connect to '

    (2) every time I try to run the following command to configure the modules on a completely fresh setting (reinstalled kernel, vmware) I get the following output:

    sudo modconfig vmware - console - install-all

With respect to your original problem, I got it, too, and that's what I did:

Hi Carla15and welcome to the VMware communities!

Your Mac has been upgraded to Yosemite (OS X 10.10), but 5 merger is too old to be compatible with Yosemite.  You must upgrade to 6.0.5 Fusion or Fusion 7 for compatibility with Yosemite.

    See you soon,.

    Hello

First thing I would try is a reboot, but given the error, I would not hold my breath on this binding.

The error messages seem to suggest that some drivers are corrupted. The only way to solve, which is by uninstalling VMware Fusion 8, restart OS X (ensuring that no driver remains persistent), then install VMware Fusion 8 again.

Note, that this will not delete your virtual machines (with additional backups is always a good thing if)

This is the result of that port TCP 443 is blocked?

    Nope

More likely, the system of the source (172.19.129.10) cannot reach the host ESX by DNS or TCP Port 902 is stuck between them.

I can't open or download the pdf files. I used to be able to, but for some reason it stopped working. Adobe is updated and I am on Windows 7. Nick

Have you tried other pdf files? to check for malware.

Download the free versions of these tools. First check the updates and then run a full scan with each.

  • Windows 7 Ult running VMWare Fusion on an iMac - will not open the Medal of Honor-Allied Assault

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

In order to be able to run PC games on my iMac using Fusion-VM, I was obliged to purchase Windows 7 like Windows 7 on my PC was an upgrade. Despite the fact that the Ministry of HEALTH ran under Fusion using Windows XP, which is entered on my PC, now when I try to run MOH I'm greeted by a message indicating that Windows has encountered a problem (not identified), but will seek a solution. It was more than four weeks ago but still no word from Microsoft. Oh yes, Age of Empires is running, you don't know.

    Hello

    ·        What is the exact error message when you try to open Medal of Honor?

Medal of Honor-Allied Assault is compactable with Windows 7. The issue seems to be the installation of the program. I suggest you to reinstall the game Medal of Honor on your system and check if you face the same problem.

You can check the link below to uninstall the program under Windows 7.

  • Could not open the mk:@msit store file: c: \

This message appeared today after compiling a Microsoft HTML project on one of my RoboHelp projects

.  I have compile daily as a chm file and switch to a network drive for our work from home employees.

I tried everything I know to do.  I've compiled another project that I use for testing.  I can see this project without an error.

I deleted the .cmd file and recompiled.

Any suggestions?  Dare create as WebHelp (decisive primary provision on call center support)?

    • I can view all previous versions of chm projects on the disk.

    • Ran RegSvr 32
    • Only the project is assigned.

    • Project is located on the local disk.  I copy hard disk shared after compilation.

  • Could not open the Nikon D300 raw files in camera raw in CS3

Is there a solution to this?

The D300 is supported in CS3.  The latest version of Camera Raw compatible with CS3 is 4.6.  If you have installed correctly, you should have no problem.  Your camera has been supported in at least one previous version, I don't check real closely.  But you need to install and use 4.6.
