Hello

Just to confirm, you run server 2.0 or 2.0.1? According to the guest operating system comatibility link

Microsoft

Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition SP2

32

Guest operating system

Server 2.0\

Microsoft

Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 x 64 Enterprise edition

Guest operating system

Server 2.0\

are supported assumes that, if this seems a little strange behavior. Once you upgrade the client, the tools work properly? When you say vm HW version 7 shows the hardware, what do you mean?

Thank you

    Hello community,

I use a Server 2003 SP1 as a domain controller.  Now we have implemented group policy which is the default value

now some users when you are prompted to spend there the password are able to go through the process of implementation of their old password and change to new password but are constantly pushed to repeat the same process.  I don't have any screenshots as of this point of the error, simply users who suffer.  Any information is appreciated.

  • VMWare - Server 2003 on an HFS Partition

    Hello world

I was wondering if it was possible to install Server 2003 on an HFS Partition and if it would support VMWare ESX4.

We have a VM of 2003 server as a file server to our Mac users, but it seems that Finder has a lot of trouble with NTFS volumes.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

The problems you have are now nothing compared to problems that you would go in a 2003 VM who tries to use HFS.

In other words - you forget.
MAC OS can handle much better NTFS that 2003 can handle HFS

  • What support VMware Windows 7 as a guest host and Windows Server 2003 as the operating system operating system?

    People,

    Hello.

Because my laptop is preinstalled Windows 7 and cannot dual boot multiple operating systems. I need to install VMware in Windows 7 host and then install Windows Server 2003 as a guest operating system.

I installed VMware Server 2.0.2 in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2003 operating system as a guest host. Everything works fine for a while. But VMware Server Home Page https://mylaptop:8333 / IU cannot display more.

I found that Windows 7 is not a host for VMware Server 2 and strange operating system might happen at any time. I found that 'VMware Player 3' is fully supported in Windows 7 as host operating system but is not taken in charge of Windows Server 2003 as a guest operating system.

People knows what product VMware Windows 7 support as host operating system and Windows Server 2003 as the operating system prompted?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

IMHO, I think that Workstation is the vmware product just for you, the requirements

It supports Windows 7 as a facilitator and Windows 2003 as a host with no problems. You can be confident about it at 100%.

  • What product Vmware is the best for several Windows Server 2003 and 2008 implementation

    Hi all

I am just wondering that if I installed VMware on Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition and Windows Server 2003 Enterprize edition on VMware I was able to use more Ram installed, our server have 48GB of Ram but Server 2003 Standard allows only 4 GB max to use, to save money, I was wondering just if I can use the way I mentioned above.

Looking at it, I think you have a misconception about the limitations of VMware, RAM and operating system. Your problem is that you see no more than 4 GB of RAM on your x 86 Server 2003 install? This is a limitation of the operating system - to use more RAM you need an operating system that can deal with the RAM.

    • If you install VMware Workstation on Windows Server 2003 standard x 86 edition then you will only be able to use the 4 GB of RAM, Windows Server 2003 Standard x 32 can process.

    • If you install VMware Workstation on Windows Server 2003 standard x 64 edition then you will be able to use the 32 GB of RAM that Windows Server 2003 Standard x 64 can process.

    • If you install VMware ESX, you can adjust your full 48GB of RAM and install multiple instances of Win 2003 Svr Standard, each of which can address 4 GB of your memory live available.

I try to install windows server 2003 R2 x 64 edition as a guest OS on vmware workstation 9. But it gives me the time hard the same installation.

    First I had the

"found no hard drives installed in your computer error.

I was able to fix this by downloading it pilot vmware scsi. Now I get NTLDR is missing, restart the computer.

I have install windows OS was frank. Anyone faced this problem. Please advise me? I have 2 CD (Cd1 and Cd2) of Windows server 2003 edition.

    Any help is appreciated

    Thanks in advance

1 you shouldn't have to download all the drivers for the vHDD, as LSI Logic drivers are included in Windows Server 2003.  In other words, you have not selected correct SCSI (LSI Logic) controller.

Now I get NTLDR is missing, restart the computer.

Make sure that the disk is disconnected.

  • How to activate the Internet connection on Windows Server 2003 is installed in the virtual machine in VMware Workstation 8?

I have Windows Server 2003 is installed on a virtual machine in VMware Workstation 8. I need it to learn and practice the use of the Active Directory. I've also set up 3 Windows XP workstations connect to it, which means that they can communicate with Server 2003. What is lacking is the Internet connection on all of them. When I run ping 8.8.8.8 in one of these virtual machines, I get, 'Destination host unreachable.'

I'm not sure, what if the problem comes from the settings in Windows or the settings of the virtual machine.

    Can someone help me?

Thank you, guys. I was finally able to put in place. It was quite an ordeal to deal with IP addresses and virtual networks. Here's how I did (in the screenshots) in case someone else needs it.

(I also confess that it is perhaps one of the ways to implement. Maybe there is an easier way to do it with DHCP...)

    1. in your computer where is installed VMware Workstation 8 begin the "Virtual Network Editor." It is located in the folder of installation of VMware Workstation. And implement the network following (VMnet2 in my case):

2 then in VMware Workstation itself in the virtual machine when Windows Server 2003 is installed set up two network as connections:

This one is for external access to the Internet:

And this one for intranet communications AD:

    3. then in the machine virtual de Windows Server 2003 set up what follows for two network adapters:

    For Internet access:

Then, you need allow this connection to share:

And then for the ad access to workstations (ensure that the static IP address is in the range specified in the virtual network over VMnet2 network editor). I've also set up DNS to 127.0.0.1 because I installed on this Windows 2003 DNS server:

    4. from the Windows 2003 VM try ping 8.8.8.8. It should work now.

    5. go to each workstation, in my case, Windows XP, each in its own virtual machine and set up the network in the VMware Workstation as follows:

    6. then in the virtual machine, configure the network connection for Windows XP workstation. Don't forget to assign a new static IP address for each workstation, which not coinside with IP of the domain (this IP address must come from the range specified in the virtual network over VMnet2 network editor):

    7. try first ping the domain, in my case ping 192.168.237.128. And then Internet, ping 8.8.8.8. The two should work!

    Continue with steps [5-7].
