VMware Sphere standard vs. advanced by HA

Buon giorno, sto leggendo proposed due delle versioni in oggetto, my non mi è chiaro it ventilconvettore di HA gia nella present standard edition utulizzato senza need tolerance advanced e della he vmotion che assicurano very it massimo della sicurezza

Quello che I like realizzare in departure, e una soluzione a uno storage be server substitutes per i dati snapshot regular ed.

I manage i tre server substitutes pensando di installare Server distributed virtuali su tutti e tre, e avere tell che in caso di di macchine virtuali face vcenter essere spostati evitando limitando o tramite uno it downtime down

Quello che non capisco appunto, e is gia soluzione VSphere Standard + Vcenter mi allows di farlo (slab figure in rete vedo che in caso di down the HA only sull'altro) my non mi è chiaro is lo fa automatically, is invece e comunque manuale it downtime al traffico e solo spostamento del server.

Gestione del fault tolerance e quindi del zero downtime assoluto the lasciare como l'eventuale wants to upgrade e sviluppo del progetto.

Currently mi interested solo virtualizzare a series of macchine e fare in modo che is TR break how UN virtuali published nothing monitorate e macchine spostate Reed manualmente knew another server.

  • vSAN deduplication (Standard or advanced)

Is anyone know when VMware finally a vSAN version which has the peculiarity of deduplication if it will be included with the Advanced Standard and/or vSAN license?

    Thank you!

Deduplication and compression doesn't work with the all-flash, so license advanced is a must.

  • VMWare ESXi6 standard ISO vs VMWare ISO customized for HP

    Hello

One of my clients uses VMware ESXi 5.5 on their HP BL465c Gen7. They have no driver problems.

Now, as they migrate to the ESXi6, they think its OK to go with as before ISO instead of the one customized for HP servers.

Anyone could shed some light on this.

I guess it worked because the server was in ESXi HCL.

Is there something beyond pilots to use ISO standard HP.

What is VMware recommendation when it come to support.

    Kind regards

    MJTS.

    Hello

Yes, go with the RESUME on ISO measure as Hardware drivers and firmware are interdependent with OS ESXi and secondly if you try to upgrade the ESXi then yes HP image will be more advantageous in regards to the latest firmware and drivers.

Looking for a support point of view, I guess that HP has a tie with VMware on racks if necessary, or else you can get direct support two vendors too.

You can download the Image--> Download VMware vSphere

You can consult the HP VMware's Certification and Support--> compatibility matrix | HP®

  • Can it differentiate please vmware Sphere operation management and VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.0?

    Hello

We have a license for VMware vSphere 6 with operations management Enterprise Plus for 1 processor

Can explain everything about the use of these products and differentiate? Also, do I need to buy VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.0 license to use this VSOM?

vSphere with operations management Enterprise Plus 1 processor 6 includes 1 processor for vSphere Enterprise 6, Plus and one license for vRealize Operations Manager Standard.  You don't need to purchase vRealize Operations Manager 6.0 to use vSOM, as it is included.

  • VMware vSphere Advanced Acceleration Kit

How does VMware vSphere Acceleration Kit advanced work? How many guest support? I have two servers at once with 2 quad core processors. I would like to implement the two servers with a tolerance for vcenter and fault, then add a third server that is identical. This package will work for me?

We currently have kits essentials in place on two other servers. The essential kit clearly states its for 3 guests (max 2 CPUs per host) and 6 cores per processor

This package should work just fine, but we want tolerance fault for our new configuration. That's why I'm leaning towards VMware vSphere acceleration Kit Advanced.

    Thank you

    Joe

As you have already mentioned, the Kits Essentials are limited to 3 guests. That's all.

Acceleration Kits are reduced start-up kits which contain regular licenses. You can only buy 1 of these kits per location. The Advanced acceleration Kit includes vSphere Advanced 6 processors and vCenter Server Foundation. You can use the licenses processor you want, for example for the guests of CPU of 3 x 2 or 1 x 2 CPU + 1 x 4 CPU... If you need more guests and 3 then you can upgrade the License Server Foundation of vCenter to vCenter Server Standard and purchase additional processor licenses. See http://www.vmware.com/vmwarestore/buyvsphere-acceleration-kits.html

As far as I know there are options to upgrade Essentials more to the acceleration of advanced kit. Ask your VMware reseller for more details.

  • VMware v6.0

I recently installed VMware standard v6 on a new HP Server.  Everything was going well until I tried to add to my Vcenter v5.5.  Now, I can not connect to the VMware host, but can connect to each of the three windows servers that I created on this subject.  I get a timeout pending vpxa answer or an invalid username/password error message.  I don't know the user name and I'm positive the password.  This could be the cause?  I also can not add this server to my Vcenter, it gives me the same error.

I have recently installed VMware v6 standard on a new HP Server.  Everything was going well until I tried to add to my Vcenter v5.5.

ESXi version 6 host can be managed by the old version vCenter server, it must be the same version as vCenter server.

now after trying this, if you are not able to connect directly, go to DCUI and restart the management agent. and see if that makes a difference.

If the standard version is compatible then how to migrate the same, need your urgent help on the same

    concerning

    Mr. VMware

Standard SQL 2012 Enterprise edition migration is not a supported scenario. Even from 2012 to 2014 enterprise SQL standard SQL is not supported.

Please have look at Microsoft link for more details on the supported upgrade paths and its versions below:

    http://msdn.Microsoft.com/en-in/library/ms143393.aspx

You can raise the rear of the SQL Enterprise 2012 data, uninstall SQL server and do fresh install of the SQL Standard 2012/2014 edition and import the data, it is a just solution.

  • VMware vSphere 5 Essentials Kit for 3 guests (3 physical servers)

    Hello

I currently use the number of servers with the free version of VMWare ESXi 5.

So now I want to use more RAM and want to have more tools like backup tool, clone.

I've been reading in vmware site but it makes me a bit of confusion.

Can someone clarify this for me:

    1. what should I do after the 'VMware vSphere Essentials Kit' command that allows me to manage 3 physical servers, while I use "VMware vSphere Client" free edition?

2 should I change or action with "VMware vSphere Hypervisor?

    3. the fee of $495 is a right to life or it's annual fee? The subscription is required for first year only, is that correct?

    4. "VMware vSphere Essentials Kit' supports up to 192 GB of RAM per physical server and max of 32 GB of RAM per VM?

    5. What is the difference with "VMware vSphere Standard" edition?

1 + 2) Just enter the new license key. No need to reinstall the hosts or stop the virtual machines. In the oder to the Manager of all 3 hosts from the same management interface, you must configure vCenter Server, which is included in the Kit of Essentials.

3.) after the initial purchase, it's your decision if you renew the subscription after the first year.

4.) there have been a few changes since release of vSphere regulatory policy 5. With the release of vSphere 5.5 all material limitations (cores per CPU and RAM) have been removed (see http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/vsphere_pricing.pdf).

5.) see page 6 in Licensing, Pricing and packaging white paper

  • What should I run VMWare virtual servers?

Finally, we are planning to buy VMWare/software license to run some of our servers. I'm new to virtualize servers. So here are my questions. We are looking at the VMware vSphere Standard 1 processor 3 yr E-LTU for HP. Here's what I need to know:

    1. Do we need for this special / software license if we have only one physical server with two processors?
    2. We need vcenter to manage our multiple virtual servers, if we only have a single physical server?
    3. If we vCenter to manage all our servers in a single vritual machine, what is the cost of the license?
    4. What is the difference between vSphere and vCenter? Do I need two to lead my virtual servers within a single physical machine?

    Any help is very appreciated.

    1. you must purchase a license if you want Service and Support of VMware - you can with the free hypervisor - https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/info/slug/datacenter_cloud_infrastructure/vmware_vsphere_hypervisor_esxi/5_1 - you would be able to add a purchased license within this server without having to rebuild. But please not there are limits to the free license.

    2. do you do not have need of Virtual Center - Virtual Center (vCenetr) allows you to manage multiple ESXi servers and can provide additional services if you are fired for this as High Availability (HA) - the ability to recover from a failure of ESXi host restart the virtual machines running on other hosts or Distributed Resource Scheduler - the ability to ensure that the necessary resources are provided to VMS

    3. I'm not sure what the cost is according to me not more $5000 -

4 vSphere is a marketing term that encompasses vCenter, ESXi and other products VMware - your will just the number of lapproriate to icenses

for ESXi who holds a physical base license

  • VMware vsphere client is in the "inventory loading" for a long period, then received a message from "time out

If my connection to the computer's internal network, the client is responsible for the inventory for a long time when I use VMware sphere client to connect to the VMware Server and give a message "connection error". below two screenshots are for the description of the error. But if my connection to the computer is net externally, I can connect to vmware server successfully.

    Capture.PNGCapture1.PNG

Here is the description of my VMware Server infrastructure:

My vmware server has two network adapters, vmnic1 and vmnic0. vmnic1 is used for the internal network, vmnic0 is used for external NET. I put a serval host in my vmware server, one of them is used for the proxy, all the computers in my lab can access internet through this proxy host via vmnic1.

Proxy host, I add two configurations for iptables as below:

    iptables - table nat - append POSTROUTING - out-interface eth0-j MASQUERADE

iptables - append forward - interface eth1-j ACCEPT

Further, I have another server in vmware, I also can connect to vmware server successful if my connection to the computer's internal network. and this server network two are the same.

How can I debug this problem? Thank you very much!

Management is necessary for both networks separately?

Because if not, you can move the Group of management to the internal network on vmnic1 ports...

Create a vmkernel port and turn it on to management, assign an IP address and it should be possible to connect to the internal network.

  • Versions of VMware vSphere

What is the difference between "VMware vSphere Essentials Kit" and "VMware vSphere Standard" in terms of features?

    www.VMware.com/Products/vSphere/Pricing.html

I'm looking for professional use in VMware.

    Thank you

P2V is possible NFB free esxi edition, no problem. You can also manage via vsphere client where you'll have GUI and you create VMS with vsphere client that connects to the ESXi host.

But it cannot be managed by vcenter to get the functionality as HA, DRS, vMotion, models etc.

As you have mentioned that you have pretty much a box with VM sound your decision to go with free or licensed.

If you go with free version of ESXi, you can have only 32 GB vRAM right. This means that if your physical machine have more than 32 GB of RAM can also create virtual machine with no more than 32 GB of RAM.

If you decide to go for licenses of its better to choose more essential rather than vsphere standard edition.

As essential or essential more is a group package which also come with 192 GB of vRAM, with a maximum power of 3 home with 2 processor and a vcenter license. Cost is lower than vsphere standard edition.

  • Requires ESX VMware view?

    Hey guys,.

This may be a very stupid question, but do you need ESX(I) to run VMware View?
I guess you need to create a cluster of some sort to host virtual offices and
I wonder if ESX (i) comes into play at all. Try to determine the future needs of license here.

    See you soon

Yes, VMware view must either ESX or ESX (i) to install and also a Virtual Center to be configured and cluster to build with the ESX hosts, added to the cluster.

With regard to the requirement for Vmware View 4.5 Lincense

VMware View is always available in editions company and first and can be purchased as a package or as an add-on for those who have existing vSphere licenses to a separate purchase (which is not part of a set of view). With view 4.5, customers have a way to upgrade available to view Enterprise and View first modules to complete sets. Key updates include:

    • See Business Starter Kit and View Prime Starter Kit now includes VMware vCenter Standard for desktop computers (updated VMware vCenter Foundation for desktop computers).
    • View first beams, View first add-ons and View first upgrades include now the two new components introduced with view 4.5: vShield Endpoint and View Client with Local Mode(formerly known as Offline Desktop)
