VMWare vSphere 5.5 Update 1 DELL Custom ISO - release date
Hello
I downloaded the text next to the DELL Web site: VMware-VMvisor-Installer-5.5.0-1331820.x86_64-Dell_Customized_A02.iso (11/03/2014)
But it's still version instead of the current 5.5 5.5 Update 1 VMware (published 11/03/2014 too).
Does anyone have an idea on the date output ISO to DELL for VMWare 5.5 Custom update 1?
Kind regards

VMware vSphere Essentials Plus Kit Upgrade

I already had a host with ESXi 6.0 and I tried to use my existing on this host 6.0 Essentials Plus Kit License, but it does not work. I have to upgrade my license key? What are my options?
VMware vSphere license key update
You must obtain new licenses to deploy VMware vSphere 6.0. VMware vSphere 4.x and 5.x existing licenses vSphere will not work on vSphere 6.0.

That I improve a R710 and two v5.5 (Dell image) to v5.5 U2 ESXi ESXi R720 using the image of Dell here:
www.dell.com/.../DriversDetails
The documentation "Upgrade Guide to ESXi 5.5 using Dell customized Image" here:
indicates that a specific version of the megaraid_sas driver must be installed.
Is the version megaraid_sas that installs with the image of Dell U2 v5.5 not the right version?
I just ran the upgrade on a R710 and it's the megaraid_sas version installed:
~ # vmkload_mod s megaraid_sas | grep Version
Version: Version 06.803.73.00, build: 1331820, Interface: 9.2 inspired: August 22, 2014Thank you.
Hello
It lists the R720 and R710 systems supported and both link to the same page, so the customized version is the same for both servers. Is the version listed in the reference guide for A02
megaraid_sas - 06.803.73.00
This is the same version that he shows for your installation on the R710 so that seems correct.

Reference Dell Custom Image for Vmware ESXi 5.1
Hello
where can I find the custom image Dell for ESXi 5.1.
I can only find the ISO Images for 5.0 (4.1). But none for 5.1. Unfortunately the original ISO Vmware image will not work because it does not find a NETWORK card in my Dell R420. Which seems to occur as long as the original image from Vmware does not include the card driver NETWORK Dell to the R420.
I saw that today there is a download section at support.Dell.com for ESXi 5.1 with about 36 files to download. But no ISO Image for ESXi 5.1 as it is 5.0 and before.
Hope someone can help or knows how Dell will bring the custom image.
Thank you!
Here is the link to the ISO image of the ESXi 5.1 custom newly released Dell. Sorry for the delay to everyone - out www.dell.com/.../poweredge-r620

I have a vSphere of VMware update Manager 6 installed in my vSphere6 env.

'If you can see from the snapshot 2, some records are present under U:/VMware-UpdateManager/Patches /.What to delete? Any recommendation?I would suggest not to delete what anyone from the repository of vmware. And if you have deleted the Update Manager will be re - download. Quite possible.

VMware vsphere essentials more and Dell MD3000i iSCSI - virtual disk not on preferred path
Hello world
I am trying to set up our new vmware vsphere essentials plus the facility. We have 2 x Dell R710 servers running vmware esx4 and have a md3000i SAN.
Each server has a network cable to connect to a network SAN controller.
vmserver1 a vmnic6 IP 192.168.130.110 the IP controller connection 0 192.168.130.101
vmserver1 has IP 192.168.130.111 vmnic4 connection to controller 1 IP 192.168.130.102
vmserver2 a vmnic 6 IP 192.168.131.110 the IP controller connection 0 192.168.131.101
vmserver2 has IP 192.168.131.111 vmnic4 connection to controller 1 IP 192.168.131.102
Whenever I start a virtual server it causes the dell md3000i start flashes orange, and management tool says disc not on favorite virtual path.
After entering the tool configuration and affecting the path preferred, from the commencement to vmware, even with a single connected server it causes the error.
I tried to configure vmware to use direct fixed and alternate paths.
I did a quick search on Google and found these sites:
http://www.delltechcenter.com/page/VMware ESX4.0andPowerVault MD3000i
http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/storage/f/1216/t/19269507.aspx
Strange configuration.
Looks like you are using some cross cable?
Each host must have 2 vSwitches, each with a port vmkernel on one of the two iSCSI network.
Each host must reach all 4 of the MD3000i (test with the vmkping command) interface.

Upgrade from 5.1 to 5.5 - DELL Incompatible ISO custom ESXi
Hello
When attempting to upgrade a DELL PowerEdge server running ESXi 5.1 to 5.5, Manager of update of the 'Inconsistent' due to Broadcom VIB reports.
Please find attached the screenshot. It seems that the existing 5.1 ESXi host is already launched VIB even as in ISO image to measure.
Thank you
You can also choose to migrate by force and it will run the installation. I think after that he will keep the existing VIBs that are installed, but I have not tested on.
Using the option migrate from Force could cause the host improved to not start successfully, to expose the system instability or lose functionality. If you upgrade a host support custom VIBs 5.0.x, which are not included in the ESXi ISO Installer are migrated. There is no need to select the option migrate by Force. See upgrading of the hosts that have third-party custom VIBs.

1 Descargar los patches 'ESXi550-201404001'y'ESXi550-201404020'.
2 Subirlos a VMware Update Manager para con esta posteriormente instalarlos in los host.

Of photos gracias por su colaboracion acostumbrada tan.
Te refieres has the environment of software of Open SSL reciente. Answering intento a tus dudas.
Runs following comandos y dime if the version of ESXi e tienes informs are certainly the're (5.5.0 1331820). If so esa version is bajo the environment:
# vmware - vl

OpenSSL 1.0.1 through 1.0.1f (included) are vulnerable
Ahora el comando siguiente para ver the version of Open SSL runs there if sale you esta version, estas in riesgo:
# OpenSSL version-
OpenSSL 1.0.1e February 11, 2013
built: kills Feb 26 16:34:26 PST 2013
In fact, if you appears otra SSL version ten in a hotel that also can be vulnerable. Son todas las versiones 1.01 has the 1.0.1f. ASI del example, than ESXi 5.5 seria para el. build 1331820, veras are the 1.01e y por lo tanto tiene el problema.
Sabido esto entonces you respondo a tus dudas:

I know that the command is correct I can install correctly the Bundle open offline manage a FRESH ESXI 4.1 Installation on a test server. However, I do not want to and cannot start early on my production server. An idea to work around this problem is especially welcome!
There is an another vib for ESXi 4.1. Try to install OMSA go http://ftp.dell.com/sysman/OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-Web-6.3.0-2075.VIB-ESX41i_A00.8.zip.
