VoIP decentralized vs centralized Design

We have a seat with about 200 stores remote location.  We try to deploy voip for the company.  Remote store locations, we have 2900 routers.  Some of the stores are about 200 miles.

Option 1:

Deployment of voip and have a centralized call manager.  In this scenario, all the phones in all the stores would record with call handlers at Headquarters with srst.

Option 2:

Having phones save locally with their respective routers in the store, but have all the features such as DNs, voicemail, CS and partitions configured centralized at Headquarters?  Is this possible?

What is the best option for the scenario described above 1 or 2?

Thank you.

Well, it comes down to how stable is the network EXPANDED, the bandwidth is a QoS option, etc. My strong preference would always be to centralize as much as possible to facilitate the administration, its ease of integration between sites, plan building numbering, streamlined future updates, etc.. Other migh have a different point of view, but I have deployed successfully much, centralized environment a lot over the past years.

My 2 cents.

Chris

  • DMVPN Solution for 50 Branches...

    Hi all

We have about 40 branches and a Central data center.
each office is connected with the domain controller and all internet traffic passed and filtered between DC and the Central firewall.
We have VoiP, with a Central in DC call manager.
our data are in DC, except some of the offices that have their own file server.
RDP is also continue to use.

Now, one day, we have a MPLS network linking all of our offices.

I do a search about to implement a DMVPN for all, or as a second solution to some of our offices (the small one).
How can you recommend or kind one or the other solution?

as I read, the voice traffic is the most critical and the most difficult to manage with the ISP and DMVPN Solution.

I would really apriciate your opinion.

    Kind regards
    Thomas.

    PS
I chose cause DMVPN we have in the near future to have a backup of our DC in a second office, only for some of the critics of the data and services.
That's why I think to use the DMVPN with 2 Hubs

Yes you can run it on the Internet.  Yes, you may have questions of VoIP.

A solution that we used in the past is double internet connections.  You dedicate one VoIP and one for everything else.  Always much cheaper than MPLS.

You can also use Pfr (routing performance) to select the circuit to use based on the latency and jitter, and the type of traffic.

  • Design for MU - Exchange centralized, distributed to the unit question

Here's the situation. Please let me know if I'm understanding correctly.

Two centers of data, Europe and CONUS, centralized Exchange servers to support remote offices. Most remote sites in Europe have the average response time ~ 150ms, but AsiaPac is on the order of ~ 300ms.

Each remote office would get a manager calls and a local system of the unit. The unity system would be storing voicemail in case of failure of the connection to the data center, give language-specific greetings, etc..

If the link between the office and the data center is in place, then the machine of the unit will then send computers virtual to the Exchange Server, which would then put the virtual computer in box mailbox users.

If the link does not work, it will store voicemails. Users will always be able to get new VM messages since they will be on their box of the local unit.

Users will be able to listen to the old VM messages if they are configured to download e-mail on their local machine since at this time, it's just another email.

I've been through the design guide and want to ensure that I understand that this is not a recommended solution? None of the offices have a local Exchange Server. The latency is going to be a deal breaker for a deployment of UNIFIED messaging?

It would certainly not be a supported configuration. The unit must me on the same LAN as the server Exchange, MS, GC. Communication between Exchange and the unit is very sensitive to time and cannot tolerate delays or package loses all. Just me that you plan now flat will not work.

So in this model, you will need to have the unit in the data center or choose a VM solution. With the servers in the data center, they would register in CM over the WAN, but you would need QoS are configured for voice traffic. But in the case where the Wan came down people would not be able to get to voicemail.

The other option would be for you to have the CM and the unit in the data center and use SRST at remote sites:

  • CUCM centralized model Design

    Dear,

I am currently designing a centralized solution for all phones to those branches 20 branches will be saved to the central HQ CUCM, each branch also has H323 GW connect to the PSTN and I need to know a lot of design perspectives

    A:

A1: the use of the BW should consider the RTP traffic between phones, it's simple, g729 * probability of number of calls for each site

A2: the use of the BW should consider registration of phones ' IE downloaded loads and configuration files, etc. ", but that this calculated? what files and what is the required BW? not all phones to register at the same time? How this calculated probability?

A3: the use of the BW should consider centralized signalling between phones and CUCM traffic, which is these traffic signs? "I know just the keepalive? What is necessary for this type BW?

A4: the use of the BW should consider signalling H323 GW with the CUCM, of these signailing? How is the BW used for this signailing calculated?

A5: the use of the BW should consider signalling MGCP GW with the CUCM, of these signailing? How is the BW used for this signailing calculated?

A6: the use of the BW should consider signalling SIP GW with the CUCM, of these signailing? How is the BW used for this signailing calculated?

B: I could use clusters on wan "CUCM i.e cluster will be at HQ and another huge branch", and the delay is less than 40 ms, I see it already

    BUT

B1: how is the use of the BW calculated? What type of traffic is replicated between parties CUCM Cluster?

B2: what is necessary for this replication between parties CUCM BW?

Thanks a lot for your help, and if you answered on the same schema 'A1, B1', it will be great

  • Best design solution VPN for Central/branches

    Hi all

I would like your comments on the design of a VPN account solution required the following:

Right now, the customer has a single office. I will be putting in place of a Cisco 1811w for them, and its main functions will be wireless, firewall with CBAC and EZVPN server access.

Server EZVPN function will be carried out so that employees with laptops can work from home.

In the near future, there will be about 4 branches in operation.

Static IP address is available for the main office, but I'm not sure if the static IP will be available for the office once they are established (there are 50 / 50 chance).

There will be an Active Directory server in the central location and will be accessible from the branches.

My question is - given the uncertainty in the branches having a static IP - what is the best way to implement the VPN to connect them to the branch?

Each branch will have an installed Cisco 831.

Is EZVPN a viable, given the above requirements?

Is it possible to put in place the 831 as customers without XAUTH EZVPN, all keeping XAUTH for employees using EZVPN clients?

If this does not work, XAUTH might have to.

Or, given the situation, you would opt for DMVPN... Unfortunately I do not know too much about it as the technology for now... What are the advantages / disadvantages of its use, if it is an appropriate solution to this scenario?

Thank you all in advance for your comments!

    Sean

I think that you need to use a mode of expansion of network (configured in the vpngroup) instead of client mode. Just make sure that each office uses a different and not overlapping address space.

  • Centralized or decentralized operations?

I'm working on a reference document to show Eloqua resources, internal and external, and the training necessary for the performance of tasks within the system. I'm looking for search suggestions. Can someone help me?

    Thank you!

SIRIUS certainly has a lot of resources on the topic of marketing BSP and the application centre.  Do the Eloqua U curriculum help here?  You are right thinking centralized vs decentralized - one of the great things about Eloqua is to release a time of marketers.  That said, there are certainly features that it is not sensible for all users of Eloqua learn.  We recommend that your internal roles and responsibilities of the audit and use that as a guide to help understand the learning not only for 'how to' (Eloqua training) but also "how to do here" (your internal standards Add on).  Depending on the size of your company and your marketing user's overall experience, it may be appropriate to implement an operational team to manage the system (for example the tasks listed under Admin in the curriculum, more potentially rated tasks under the path of advanced marketing).

Don't forget to join us at EA in Orlando - would love to see you at my session on Global demand Center Best Practices Eloqua experience the day North America 2012 | 2012 in the order of the day North America | Training day.  I'm also looking forward to the PerkinsElmer preso on marketing operations, there is usually a "birds of a feather" lunch or dinner for the types of marketing operations which is always a pleasure.

  • Store centrally page/objects designed for use in Indesign CS6

    Hi all

We create docs of credentials to send to potential clients. We have worked in different sectors (health, sport, charities, etc.) in order to adapt these creds docs so that they are suitable for the customer. We have currently a process where we open an old indd file, copy any pages we want and paste them into the new doc indd.

This process has several problems. The pages begin to vary between the docs different cred (margins, grids, styles, etc.) as time passes. Search docs creds for a page for a particular project is time consuming. Sometimes, a new page is created because the old page not found (or we have forgotten that we already had a) which adds to the variation of the pages.

I went down the road of the library, establish libraries for different sectors and storage of the content inside here. This has been good so far, we can quickly find the pages we want and place them. And we can quickly place new pages in the library, or to update the 'old' with a single click.

The problem is that these libraries store absolute links, and we store our data in a Dropbox from who has different absolute path on each computer based on the username ("username" of Mac HD\users\ \Dropbox).

My question is, someone at - it a better solution to the store pages indd Center so that they can be used in any Dropbox to share?

    Have you tried extracts?

You can drag and drop them from and to a document at any location. With Adobe Bridge, you can make them visible.

  • Error 1386 between Labview Quantum Design PMP

(It is a different problem from http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Controlling-PPMS-from-Labview/m-p/2581885/highlight/true#M777361)

I also check the Quantum Design forum and the Web page, but has not found a solution.

My initial guess was that there is something missing with the QDInstrument.dll file, but now I think it might actually be a problem with how Labview interacts with the .NET framework. and call nodes. That's why I write on the Forum of NOR. Sorry for the long text, but I try to give a lot of info.

I am trying to interact with the PPMS Quantum Design. I use the library (PpmsMultiVu.zip) attached to this message. It contains an example of vi, but it requires the QD software to run in parallel.

I get an error 1386 with this error message:

1386 error has occurred to invoke the node in OpenQDInstrument.vi-> QDInstrument_Example.vi
    Possible reasons:
LabVIEW: .NET class specified is not available in LabVIEW.

Interestingly, the error occurs only when the library QD is installed on my C drive. It doesn't matter if it's the folder Labview2014 > instr.lib or elsewhere as the office.

    Also if I checked:

View > .NET assemblies in memory

    It is empty.

If I install the library on a network drive, everything will work fine, and the .NET assemblies in memory has a single entry

Also if I have two copies of the library, on the c drive and the other on network drive, if I run the example of form ch. vi reader, it will always give the error, event if files are always located in the same location on the network drive.

The library makes heavy use of .net invoke nodes

Earlier was an "Unable to connect to the OLE server" error while working with this library, but this solved by itself after a reboot of the computer, without a logical explanation.

    Thanks for your comments

I finally found the solution in this discussion:

    http://forums.NI.com/T5/LabVIEW/cannot-load-V2-0-targeted-NET-Assembly-in-LV-2013-mixed-mode-not/TD-...

I needed to create a configuration file as described here:

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/4742EB60B64BE22186257BCE0053B8FD?OpenDocument

It is interesting to see that the new feature of 'security' of .net 4 that was supposed to trust only the assemblies stored on the local computer has resulted in exactly opposite results. It is NOT only confident assemblies on the local drive.

This strange behavior is most likely due to the fact that my University stores the user profiles on a central server and not on the local computer. But the software itself is still saved on my C drive!

    I like the security ;-)

I hope that this explanation will help others with a similar problem.

    Fahad

    Hello Fahad,

There are 3 key documents that you should be aware of when it comes to design collaboration solutions.

    1. Cisco preferred Architecture of Collaboration
    • Document of high level that can help determine where the design to the choice based on your business objectives.
    • Cisco validated Design
    • Provides step-by-step instructions to deploy a variety of applications of Cisco UC.
    • Cisco Collaboration Solution network design reference (SRND)
    • The Holy Grail of the detailed technical information for Cisco collaboration solutions. This beast of 1200 + page of a document contains almost everything you would want to know (and more) on the Cisco Collaboration technologies.

All of the above guides can be found here:
    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/solutions/enterprise/design-zone-collaboration/index.html

You should also be familiar with the different installation guides and administration for the various products you will be deployed (CUCM, connection to the unit, CCX, etc...). This documentation can be found in the support section on cisco.com.

When it comes to ordering hardware, software and licenses, I highly recommend relying on a partner of Cisco with a specialization of Collaboration to help you. They will be able to understand your needs more in depth and lighting along the order of implementation process as a whole.

    Hope this helps,

  • design of huge cell MIMO 3 x 3 using splitters and antenna external omni

    Hello

    The requirements are the following:

Offers complete coverage for a basement.

Maximum number of users competitor is between 5-10

    VoIPoWlan

    Low bandwidth

In the basement is distinguished from corridors and technicrooms isolated by thick walls brick and metal doors.

In order to ensure full cogerage voip would require a large number of AP they are quire expensive and high flow is not required.

Is it a good idea to use only a few AP with dividers and external antennas?

    For example:

    1 x dual band AP 3 x 3 mimo

3 x dispatchers dual band, each of them has 3 output ports

    3 dual-band 3 x 3 mimo antennas 2 omni and a directional

The basement has 2 rooms and a corridor.

Each of the rooms has an omni antenna installed, corridor has one directional.

    Antennas are connected by separators.

Given that the cable lengths are not the same, I may need to use amplifiers also. Is this correct?

What about the problem of the node that is hidden, when 2 wlan stations are connected to the same access point can not hear each other?

This cell can be huge. I gave a small example, but in our project, we need cover a basement of a square that contains many rooms and corridors. Obviously, you must use several AP + combos splitter basically repeat this small example, I gave.

The main goal is to save money by reducing the number of AP and switches. We did the sitesurvey we found that 40-45 AP is needed. My idea is to use up to 10 AP + battery separator.

Has anyone done a similar deployment?

    The disadvantages?

    Thank you!

    István

MIMO radios are filled with a lot of very complex mathematics.  It phase shifts handels, changes of time, reflections, roaming, etc..  You are wanting to fundamentally change the design of their operation.

    It will be terribly.

If it were me, I would correctly, based on the your wireless site survey, or not at all.  I don't want to be associated with a design that works badly.  I would walk first of employment.  But that's me.

It is your reputation and your choice.

    Hi all

Now, our company have a HQ Office and a remote site in a different city and we have a CUCM 5.1.3 server in the HQ Office, remote site have approximately 30 cisco 7911 phones registered to the HQ CUCM server. HQ and remote control have their own local voice gateway 2821 h323 (HQ has a PVDM2-64 in VG, remote control has a PVDM2-32 in VG) HQ and distance of telephone calls using the G729 codec to save bandwidth (there is a line of rental of 2 M between the seat and the remote site).

My question is: HQ Office take often together 8 partners (using MeetMe), because we have no meeting place, server or other device cisco PVDM2 only, so I have to renounce material use CFB, but software CFB support only of the G711 codec and the QUEUE to the HQ router do support G711, if I keep using G729 between Headquarters and remote site Remote staff can not dial a MeetMe meeting and cannot get their voicemail.  Who can tell me what is the best design for my CPU?

  • Exchange 2 k 3 Cached Exchange Mode Design.

I have a Windows\Exchange 2003 site that has a design of mail distributed with a DC\GC and Ex server at each location.

The long-term vision is to move to a design of messaging centralized with the main exchange cluster to Headquarters with remote sites taking advantage of the functionality of Outlook 2003 Cached Exchange Mode.

In the short term, we will have to implement the unit at each local site servers to support UNIFIED messaging, but eventually they would be dismantled.

It is a design viable\supported with 4.0 (4) unit for Unified Messaging? I don't know if the cached Exchange Mode is supported in this scenario?

Thank you in advance, all the tips

    NJ.

Looks like you're doing the right thing here. You turn the unit off on remote sites now, which is of solid design, and then later as you consolidate Exchange to a central location, you're going to do the same thing with the unit.

The unit will not talk about 'cached mode' for Exchange, but that's fine. The unit will be able to talk normal MAPI for it even if you have some clients do in cached mode.

  • Design of network for a shared Business Center

    Hello

I was asked to design a new shared business center network, but I need help.

    The scope is:

    -a building, access Internet 1

    -15 private offices

-each Board can have up to 4 LAN connections

-each office can have its own local network VIRTUAL (with Internet access)-max of VLAN 15 online

-some offices can be merged (1 VLAN for many offices)

-VLAN only have access to the Internet, but must be strictly isolated from others

-DHCP must be available for each VIRTUAL local area network

-WiFi must be available everywhere, but each user can connect only to its own LAN VIRTUAL (ID and PW) provided

-management of connectivity and VLAN must be as simple as possible (GUI)

What do I need put implement this configuration?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello

A high level, you might want to switch support VLAN to connect and separate all individual offices. You could master this (3750/3560) switch to a Cisco ASA firewall, which, in turn, you may have interfaces on the trunk, a link on the side of the ASA. 1 for each VLAN configured. ACL security could be applied to each Sub Interface as well as a DHCP server for each VLAN can be configured on the SAA also. I would be not actually laid the present and let tenants handle their own LAN 'each office can have its own VIRTUAL LAN. " This would add unnecessary complexity.

Wireless, can be as sophisticated as the installation of a wireless LAN Controller and several APs for centralized management of the APs. You can assign identifiers VLAN to different BSSIDs. Or you can use 1-2 Points of access and manage them individually. Cisco Aironet 2600 has GUI and allow VLAN tags by SSID. A site for the wireless range would be necessary.

Haven install some of these types of networks, the above is all very high-level and depend on specific reuqirements, but should be a good starting point for you.
