Design of network for a shared Business Center

Hello

I was asked to design a new shared business center network, but I need help.

The scope is:

-a building, access Internet 1

-15 private offices

-each Board can have up to 4 LAN connections

-each office can have its own local network VIRTUAL (with Internet access)-max of VLAN 15 online

-some offices can be merged (1 VLAN for many offices)

-VLAN only have access to the Internet, but must be strictly isolated from others

-DHCP must be available for each VIRTUAL local area network

-WiFi must be available everywhere, but each user can connect only to its own LAN VIRTUAL (ID and PW) provided

-management of connectivity and VLAN must be as simple as possible (GUI)

What do I need put implement this configuration?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello

A high level, you might want to switch support VLAN to connect and separate all individual offices. You could master this (3750/3560) switch to a Cisco ASA firewall, which, in turn, you may have interfaces on the trunk, a link on the side of the ASA. 1 for each VLAN configured. ACL security could be applied to each Sub Interface as well as a DHCP server for each VLAN can be configured on the SAA also. I would be not actually laid the present and let tenants handle their own LAN 'each office can have its own VIRTUAL LAN. " This would add unnecessary complexity.

Wireless, can be as sophisticated as the installation of a wireless LAN Controller and several APs for centralized management of the APs. You can assign identifiers VLAN to different BSSIDs. Or you can use 1-2 Points of access and manage them individually. Cisco Aironet 2600 has GUI and allow VLAN tags by SSID. A site for the wireless range would be necessary.

Haven install some of these types of networks, the above is all very high-level and depend on specific reuqirements, but should be a good starting point for you.

Concerning

Stephen

    given that the same logic has two controllers that you will have to use a pair of switches to cross connect for redundancy. You are going to need some maps as well. 1 sc, 1 for vmotion, 2 for iscsi (cross connected) and probably 2 for the production traffic.

  • How can I connect Windows XP to several networks, Wi - Fi for internet and the other for file sharing?

    On windows XP, I need to connect to two different networks. Free wifi for the internet and the other for file sharing.

    Different gateways, different static address, same subnet mask. But there is problem when operating simultaneously and must

    a network must be disabled. Is it possible to run simultaneously?

    original title: served various networks simultaneously on windows xp

    Go to where you have configured the static IP addresses for your network adapters.  Leave the "default gateway" blank for your local file sharing adapter and insert a valid default gateway for your wifi Internet adapter.  Of course, this will limit your adapter in a single subnet - which should be OK for use at home or small office to share local files.

    This should work as long as the two physical subnets have two different subnet numbers. In general, this means that the first three digits of the IP address of the adapter can not be the same on both adapters - if they are, then you need to make one of the subnets. (i.e. one is 192.168.1.xxx and the other would be 192.168.2.xxx).  This is usually accomplished in the router configuration page.

    In trying to "turn on network discovery", I got this message: "the specified service does not exist as an installed service.  Ditto for "file sharing."  How can I activate them?

    Hello

    Method 1: Make sure that the following services are enabled on the computer.

    (a) click Start and type "services.msc" in the search and click on services and ensure that these services are enabled:

    -TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper service

    -DNS Client

    -Function Discovery Resource Publication

    -SSDP Discovery

    -UPnP device host

    To start the service and set it to automatic, follow these steps:

    (b) right click on each of the services listed above and click Properties.

    (c) click the general tab, and then, next to startup type, select automatic.

    (d) click on apply and then click Start.

    Method 2: I suggest that you can exercise SFC scan and check if TI the problem persists. To do this, please see the following article. The SFC/SCANNOW command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

  • Network for NFS

    Hello

    I have infrastructure as follows;

    2 welcome each containing 6 1Gig speed NIC each.

    A NAS storage with 4 NIC

    Two L2 Switches (managed HP).

    Planning to run it by the best recommendations and requirements, so that there should not be a SPOF any level.

    So keeping this in mind, we have designed to use ports on each server as follows:

    2 for the NFS storage, 2 for Production management and 2 others for vMotion on each server.

    A cable from each port configured for respective roles goes uplink switch1 and switch2, so if a switch goes down we still have the other switch support.

    Separated VLAN is configured by the switch to different types of traffic.

    My question as below;

    Should I team two ports on each vSS.If so that what should be the parameters for NETWORK adapters for the production, storage, and vMotion network grouping (keeping in mind cables going to switch uplink separated).

    Should I keep adapter in active-standby or active-active mode.

    I didn't think any specific settings to link pass that one cable by a single port is to go there and I don't have the choice of the channel of the ether or LACP.

    In addition, vmware license is essential and having therefore no possibility to use dynamic switches.

    Consider using 5.5.0.

    Also do you propose to use frames as well in the present.

    Kind regards

    Sushil

    Hello

    I suggest always you put management and vMotion on the same set of natachasery management and workloads. It makes no difference where they are subnet a perspective.  I also suggest to read the following:

    Who should you get.

    natachasery have no IP address in a vSphere environment, they act as a link between a physical and virtual switch. According to the way which you the trunk your VLAN Trunk ends pSwitch (external switch tagging) or the virtual switch (switch virtual tagging). Most people master their VLAN to the virtual switch.

    You want something like the following:

    pSwitch <->pNIC0 <->[ <->Portgroup vSwitch0] <->management (subnet1)

    pSwitch <->pNIC1 <->[ <->Portgroup vSwitch0] <->vMotion (subnet2)

    When switching between pNIC0 and pNIC1 management and vMotion end up on the same bear but when normally run that they remain separated. It is the recommended method. In this case you would master the VLAN to the vSwitch. I know some people who just do not use VLANs, but who use only separate subnets and it works as well.

    pSwitch <->pNIC2/pNIC3 <-> <->Portgroup vSwitch1 (s) <->of workloads (subnet1)

    If you use VLANs (except for vMotion) you're trunking to vSwitch1 (virtual switch tagging). If subnet1 is on the same vSwitch and the trunk is correct via pSwitch ports so he can talk to management on vSwitch0 effortlessly. Switches know how to route traffic to VLAN.

    pSwitch <->pNIC4/pNIC5 <->vSwitch2 <->Portgroup <->NFS (subnet3)

    Here we link pNIC4 and pNIC5 together or use them as a pair of failover for NFS on its own subnet / VLAN itself. This VLAN can end the pSwitch if you wish or terminate once again to the vSwitch.

    In this configuration you have 3 VLAN and 3 subnets (subnets use by VLAN are also recommended)... for example:

    VLAN100-> subnet1-> workload management

    VLAN200->-> vMOtion subnet2

    VLAN300->-> NFS subnet3

    Let the pSwitches any 'movement' of traffic for each VLAN. You need only a routing device if you want TO cross borders VLAN and there is absolutely no need to do it in this configuration.

  • DSC - event trigger for single shared process Variables

    Hello

    I understand how to set up a Notification of change of value for published network Variables shared so that an event fires when this particular shared Variable changes. However, I can't understand how to do the same for the single shared process Variables. Is it still possible? Can someone shed light on this point, please?

    Thanks in advance.

    -James Pham

    VRspace4,

    Hello! It is not possible to activate alarming for unique shared process Variables. A workaround to set up a Notification of change of value would be to create a network shared variable that reads in your Variable single process, but at this point in time, it could be useful that replace your variable with a variable that is shared on a network.

  • You cannot change the ID network of home-based business

    I'm changing my network ID of a network of home-based business, but after I restarted my computer it comes back constantly as company.

    Hello Hector,

    Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

    1. You did it any significant hardware or change software on the computer before this problem?
    2. Your system has already been connected to a network domain?
    3. What is the edition of Windows 7, you use?

    The question arises after the restart, if your system does not have the authorization of the user to change the location of the network. To diagnose and solve the problem, I suggest you try the following steps:

    Method 1:

    You can also perform network troubleshooting that might help us diagnose the problem better.

    Access the link for more information on troubleshooting network below:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-the-network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7

    Method 2:

    The question may also be due to the user permissions are not available to change the location of the network. You can try the following steps and change the following settings.

    1. Click Start, type gpedit.msc in the search box and press ENTER. This step opens the local Group Policy Editor.
      (Click Yes if you are prompted.)
    2. Expand Computer Configuration, expand Windows settings, Securitysettings, expand network list manager policies, and then double-click network in the right window.
    3. Go to the network location tab, then click on user can change location under the section user permissions.
    4. Click OK , and then close the Group Policy Editor.
    5. Restart the computer.

    Note: The steps above are valid for Windows 7 Professional, full and business editions.

    Hope this information is useful. If the problem still persists, please post back for further assistance, we will be happy to help you.

  • Can't see another computer for file sharing

    Hello
    I have 2 computers in my house, a PC running Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 and the other a XP Home Edition SP3 race, both connected to the Internet through a router TL-MR3420 and the adapter TP-LINK TL-WN822N. I have enabled the sharing of files on both computers and have no problem to display all of the files shared between each computer, so far.
    Whenever I try to view another computer via "Network" or "homegroup" menu on 7 (or my network places on XP), I can't see my other computer which is supposed to be there. So far, I've tried a few attempts to analyze and resolve:
    1 ping each other by IP - success.
    2 ping each other by the name of the computer - has failed.
    3. try to access to "- and " run - failed with error 0 x 80070035 - path not found network. ".
    4 run diagnose step above on Windows 7, she returned with a result: "the device or resource (my static IP XP) is not configured to accept connections on port 'The file sharing and printers (SMB)'."
    5 turn off the firewall on the computers and router.
    6. ensure that necessary services for file sharing are active.
    7. the reactivation of the wireless connection on both computers.
    8 change the name of the Working Group on both computers.
    9. run ipconfig/all on both computers.
    10 install this fix on my XP.
    Ipconfig, it seems my two computers showing the active DHCP on 'no', so I changed my network settings to "obtain an IP automatically" she turns to the 'yes' later. And "NetBIOS over TCP/IP", showing the different statutes on 7 that it is activated on XP it is disabled, even though I put it activated via the WINS tab on the XP network settings. Still do not solve the problem.
    I don't know if it means something, but I share also some folders on my 7 to my Tablet ES File Explorer app, it works as it should (as long as I use static IP address), but if I try to connect my tablet to shared folders on XP, it always shows error message on either:
    WiFi is turned off (it is)
    SMB server is out of reach of the network
    The ip address is not valid
    Blocked by the firewall
    SMB service is disabled
    I guess that Wifi, IP and firewall are not the problem, and I don't know about SMB, it's stands for Samba / file Printer Sharing? He has already checked on computer network settings.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    I solved this.

    I opened my XP, run these commands via cmd:
    netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt
    netsh winsock reset
    Restart the computer and then change my connection of cable wireless lan then back to wireless again.
