I am running windows xp sp3, the volume icon disappears from the taskbar on each reboot or shutdown/startup.kindly, help with any permanent solution known.i should go to the control panel and to recover it again whenever I turn my on.kindly advice, someone machine me a solution permanently this problem.i want to stay always on the taskbar the volume icon.
the honest answer is expected... Thank you!Hello
Try this:
Control Panel - device - sounds Manager - note manufacturer device name and info on the graduating model.
Double click and get the date and version of the driver (if 06 are dates, you use the default windows driver). Now
Click the DRIVER UPDATE (this can not find anything because MS is far behind the certification of drivers). Now LAW
CLICK above and UNINSTALL - REBOOT - it will refresh the driver stack. Now, go to the manufacturer of the system and recover the last pilot audio/Hi-Fi as a fall.
Download it - SAVE - go to where you put it - RIGHT CLICK top - RUN AS ADMIN - REBOOT
Now do the same for the manufacturer of the device (the one that made the device - if you were using the default windows
you might need to look in the Device Manager - his new driver).Often, you will need to run the sound card drivers several times to get the latest version installed and will appear in
Manager - Sound. This is because they make back the drivers one at a time and then finally install the
most recent. Look in the Device Manager to be sure that you have installed the version of the driver is the one showing, if not
run the driver again (reset each time) until the shows a correct.Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

The icons in the notification area of the bar (on the side of the lower right of the desktop) tasks are not all there. The speaker/volume icon is over now and the arrow next to the notification (to show and hide icons) area has also disappeared. I have not changed anything on the computer. I tried to restart but it did not help. No idea why this would suddenly disappear and how to get it back?
Have you tried right clicking on an empty area of the taskbar, properties tab and taskbar by selecting it and then pressing the button customize section Notification area? I don't know how to recover my volume icon - can anyone help? Thank you!
Hello
If one of the system icons is out, you can reactivate the as follows:
Right-click on the taskbar and select Properties. This will bring up the tab "properties of menu taskbar and start. It's where you mentioned, it is gray. It is very well... From there, you can click on Customize button in the icon section. Look for the icon that you are missing, and check the status. The type of report should read "Hide icon and notifications", change that to "Show icon and notifications".
If this does not resolve the issue most likely you have a problem with group policy on your machine. This can be corrected by following the instructions on the following link:
http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/01/01/fix-network-clock-volume-and-power-battery-system-icons-missing-with-disabled-or-grayed-out-check-box-options/

Volume icon disappears from the taskbar
Volume icon missing on the task bar. Seek to return so I can adjust volume when necessary
It was with my installation of XP. I have to open the Control Panel, uncheck the 'show' in the task bar (or system tray, whatever it may be), hit apply, then re - check and apply again. It should appear. For a period of time. Also started happening with my battery/power icon and the same solution worked for a while, but now it works again (just for the battery - the volume still works like that). I had found some registry changes, but they do not seem to have worked. Any comments would be useful. I still have to run this laptop sometimes.

Volume icon disappeared after updates... cannot be displayed in the taskbar
Yesterday - lots of updates automatically downloaded on my computer (MS updates).
Today - my volume icon is missing from my taskbar. I went to the calendar, right click, choose Properties and the box with the "turn system icons on or off" came. Volume was shown as 'Off' - but grayed out so that I can not change it to 'On '.
I clicked "Customize notification icons" - and which took me to "select the icons and notifications appear in the taskbar.
I looked at Volume - it says "Show icon and notifications '...
So why is the icon does not appear in my taskbar?

battery and volume icons disappeared from the screen
battery and volume icons disappeared from the screen
Close all programs that run you > restart your computer.
Use this tutorial:
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/106787-notification-area-system-icons.htmlTake the method 3. It applies to all versions of Vista, and it is the easiest method.
(you can try of a Methos first. Sauf_si you are lucky, it will not work because the boxes to click will be 'in grayed out', unclickable.)
Make sure that you restart the computer afterwards to complete the tutorial procedures. Here's another tutorial. It's from Microsoft Support.
It has a "fix it for me" application and a "I'll fix it myself" instructions.

System in the Systray icons disappear
System network and Volume icons disappear from the system tray and appear grayed out in the bar of the settings of the properties of tasks. There is a KB post by Microsoft (article 945011). There is an inclusive "fix it for me difficulty. Another article (I can't find at the moment) describes the same thing and provides a registry patch. After you run one, you must stop/restart explorer.exe... articles specify that this will probably cancel the fix, but it will need to be redone... This is the case.
Why is there a permanent solution to this known issue. It is nothing else than to boring, but indicates an operating system with a bug.
How and when will this bug permanently fixed?

Can not adjust the volume unless I go to control panel - volume icon missing
My volume icons disappeared from the notification (lower-right) area and I can't adjust my volume levels of my office (I have to go to the control panel every time). When I right click to change the properties of the notification bar, the box next to volume under the "always show icon" is not Hi-limited and will not let me choose to always display of the volume icon. What can I do else?
This has been known to solve the problem for some. No guarantee, but it is safe and it is much much easier than this... just print first, then follow the instructions. Takes two minutes :)
