Behavior very stange Photosmart B9180, prints with a huge amount of ink

Today, I have a huge problem (ink) with my photosmart B9180

I noticed that the prints come out almost dripping black ink. The ink flows paper and consists of all kinds of ink colors

I tried HP paper glossy advanced photo

When I select plain paper, (the best) it works OK

When choosing among other documents, the problem occurs.

I tried settings such as (printer / mac color management), (settings of photo paper / glossy, mast... etc)

I tried advanced options - volume of ink slider to the left

I have tried electric bike/off voltage

I tried to reinstall the printer with the HP website software

Then I made an A4 composition in photoshop all white with a colored bar little degraded in the middle (not to waste ink during the test)

The stange thing I noticed, is that the print head sweeps on all the white parts as well as printing something?

Can someone explain what is happening here?

I lost too much paper and ink...

Hi all

the problem is caused by Apple update for HP Printer Drivers Version 2.7.

This isn't the only failure in this package. (I'm not sure if it's great to use this same update for Mac OS 10.6 and 10.7).

Of course to restore the folder 'hp' in/library/printers/to using Time Machine should solve the problem.

Clearer to solve the problem is to do following steps:

-Remove from the list of printers HP printers (System Preferences > print and fax (MacOS 10.6) / print and scan (Mac OS 10.7))

-Move the entire folder "hp" / Library/Printers/in trash

-Download and install HP drivers Update Version 2.6 from the following link:

FTP://hppsu2_6:7iy * [email protected]/

-Restart the Mac

-Add the printer in system preferences...

  • Want to 110 printer using a huge amount of ink

    Hello

I recently bought a printer Envy 110 and since buying it I printed only 374 pages but I used five black and three color cartridges! For me it's huge, especially when they cost $25 each for standard size and twice for the extra-large size. I print in project most of the time, and I print only best quality when I have to. I do not print pictures in color, items or powerpoint presentations, I did once and it was as if you could watch the ink flow out of the cartridge!

Is this suppose to use much ink? I would never buy this product if I knew it was going to be this thirst for ink.

Can you please make some suggestions to help reduce the amount of ink that I use or y at - it something wrong with my printer? Thank you.

My only suggestion would be to contact the HP Support at 1.800.474.6836.  As you bought the printer 2 months ago, it should still be under warranty.

  • Photosmart 6510 print with only black print cartridge?

Hi, can printing Photosmart 6510 in black & white (not gray, but b & w only) when the black ink cartridge is not empty, but all the other cartridges are? If the color cartridges are not already installed, it will always show b & w?

    Hello

The 6510 PS will not work if the color cartridges are empty but the black ink.

However, I think that it would be possible to print using only black ink but to do ink in the cartridges of colour as well because in case of maintenance color cartridges to do little ink in the print head maintenance routines.  When the head is friendly if there was no colour ink this part of the print head could heat upward too or overheat.

Anyway, back to print in black only.  You mention that you do not want t p rint in black and white so you know where to look in the driver to get to this option. Then in Word, Excel or any program, go to the print function.  Click on properties. Click Advanced. You should see where you have levels of gray.  If you clock in the option box should reveal the other options will be "Black Only". Select this option.

As I said you should be able to print using only black, but you will need the color cartridges ink.

    Hope this helps.

  • Photosmart HP 5510 fails to print with the nine 364XL black ink cartridge

The black cartridge HP 364 "SETUP" origin has worked well and I bought a black cartridge HP364XL via the HP Web site.

I installed the HP364XL this morning, but he is unable to leave the necessary ink on the pages.

The cartridge seems to be OK and there is no error message.  The paper passes through the usual way, but fate with no print on it.  The date on the box is September 2014, this is not out of date.

I tried to find what the problem is.  I checked the cartridge is correctly installed and it seems to have ink inside.   I tried to print using the black cartridge again and again with different parameters, such as 'Fast draft' and 'Normal', but every time the paper emerges with no impression.  The 'supply levels' shows the black cartridge about 90% full.

This is normally caused by the vent on the top of the cartridge being blocked, or a dirty print head. The document below will help you work out the problem. Let me know what happens.

  • DeskJet 932C, you can print with just replace the black ink cartridge?

My question is basically simple.  The printer DeskJet 932C can operate with only black ink?  Color ink was empty for a while now, but the printer kept working, printing in black and white.  Due to the cost of the ink and the absence of any income available, we just changed the black ink cartridge.  The problem now is that the printer will not print not even black and white.  Do I have to scrape some funds to replace the color ink cartridge, or y at - it another way to get the printer working with just the new black cartridge?

    Thank you in advance!

    Michael Sponable

    Hello

Your printer can print in black only, but up to a certain point , you need tri-cartouche color otherwise it will not print. It's a little late now, otherwise if you only need to print B & W, a monochrome laser printer is very good and much cheaper to run (in terms of cost per page).

    Kind regards.

  • Red spots on the skin when printing with the HP PhotoSmart 8400 printer

I am trying to print a JPEG image that is very high resolution (3000 x 2000) and the quality is superb on my monitor.

However when I try to print on my HP PhotoSmart 8400 printer there is a strange red 'sand' pattern (pixelation) that appears on the skin of most of the bodies of the subjects. I did the test the page and sample page that look ok, but does not use the same colors and has not any skin tone (it's a picture of Orchid).

I tried this on glossy paper and regular paper, and it seems to pretty much the same, with the effect more pronounced on glossy paper. I also tried to change the image in several different ways, including lowering the resolution, changing colors and adding a blur gaussing, but cannot get rid of the strange grainy effect.

Can you get it someone please let me know if it is a common problem with the device, or if my photo is somehow wrong? If Yes, where can I get a picture called to test the printing of skin tone, or how can I solve the problem.

    Thank you!

Update: I tried with another photo on the web and I see the same effect. Given that this printer is a few years old I start thinking that it's just a physical limitation of the printer.

Found problem - I replaced my cartridge 99 and that fixed it.

I didn't expect this type of behavior because of the low level of ink, but I guess there is a first time for everything ():

  • Photosmart C310: What models allow a black-and-white printing with low color cartridge?

I'm looking to replace my old HP Photosmart Premium all-in-One printer, because it works with reliability more. My biggest problems with this model are:
    1.)
I can't print in black and white when one or more of the color cartridges must be replaced
    2.)
The black ink cartridges work only sporadically. I lost a lot of money on the black ink cartridges that do not work, and I tried all the techniques of troubleshooting many times and no solution.
    3.)
I hate having to spend $100 + to replace the cartridges. It's such a scam!

I have teenagers who need the ability to print the homework on a very regular basis and in a timely. I can't spend another frantic morning, trying to get a printer (with new cartridges) to print!

I hope someone with a knowledge of the range of HP products can explain different types of all-in-one printers available to me... and which would be best suited to my needs. Ideally, I'd like to find one that allows to print in black and white ONLY when the color cartridges are low or exhausted - if there is such a thing?

Thanks in advance for any info, tips or advice anyone could offer!

    Hi @katvit74,

While I don't have any specific purchasing advice @katvit74, I can offer a few troubleshooting tips to see whether your printer is at the end of his life.

You're not the first to express frustration at having to have impoverished the cartridges replaced to continue printing. Personally, I suggest to use grayscale options, when printing so that the colored inks not so quickly adjust upward. Frankly, after reading your post again, I feel that you don't have want to solve your Photosmart Premium.

I value your time and do not want you to feel like I don't have. That being said, we will encircle your initial request. Maybe you would rather a system printer for 2 ink that the cartridge supports single mode, or maybe a Laserjet that prints black only. The printer you choose should be based on your needs. According to me, the best way I can help is to offer you the tool product Advisor.

Tool advice product is designed to target the product most suitable for your particular needs. Please answer all questions to give us the most complete picture of your needs - more information you provide, the more efficiently, we can recommend.

  • HP Photosmart 3310 printer. Problem with new cartridges hp 363 original.

I live in Italy and I bought an all-in one HP Photosmart 3310 U.S.. Once the original ink cartridges were being run-out, I bought a complete set of original HP ink cartridges that are new in Italy. Now, the printer screen displays the following message: "Printer set up to use ink cartridges 02" and do not want all works. The ink cartridge, I bought was 363 (n.6 cartridges for all 70 euros!). Please let me know if there is a way to change the configuration of the printer and allow it to work with 363 cartridges instead of 02. Thanks in advance for your answer. I'm looking to pass on your instructions. Best regards. Carlo of Urso

Of course, I can't speak for cdurso, but for my part, HP refused to help me with the reset of the region. Some representatives of the foreign customer support told me simply repeatedly that my printer was obsolete, and that I had to buy a new one. However, I found a solution very simple to my problem. I simply pulled the chip on the ink cartridge in the region that the printer has been set to, and I stuck on my new cartridge. I think that this would negate my ink level readings, but it allows me to use the printer, which now works perfectly. I just have to ignore the "expired cartridge" message I get every time I need to activate or reset it.

  • Printing with Macbook Photosmart wireless problem

I'm not sure if anyone can help, Im a beginner and not very technical so be sweet/patient.

I bought a HP Photosmart B110, that allows to print wirelessly to a network for my son who just went to College. It has a Macbook and all seemed well with the implementation and test pages printed with all the "Passes" while trying to find the printer on the network no printer showed. I added manually the printer even if the instructions have not really cover how to do this with a variety of menu options such as the LPD, HPJet and intellectual property. I went down the road to intellectual property and were able to get a test page to print, but whenever I try to print a document or scan something I get an error despite initially seeming fine. To do this, what you expect on the first ' print page 1, Page 2, etc. ", but a yellow triangle appears on the printer icon and a message" network host 172.xx.xx.xx is busy will retry in 20 seconds...» 30 dry etc."the Mac can see the printer on the network of the United Utilities to print all come showing the use of ink etc (and as mentioned printed the test page) but I'm really stuck on why I can't get a document to print, can someone point me in the right direction please.

I do not large companies such as universities allow individuals to add devices to their network, such as printers.  If they allow to connect, it may be that they do not manage the data circulating on the printer.

In addition, it is a bit dangerous to add a printer to a vast network that anyone can print on it at any time.

I recommend this printer connected to the computer via USB.

  • Printing with Windows 8 Pro for HP Photosmart 8150

Since I installed Windows 8 Pro to my computer, I can't print to my HP Photosmart 8150 printer. Online "says" HP driver is up to date, but I deleted and reinstalled in any case. Still not printing. If anyone has had this problem and how solve you this problem?

    Hello

As a last resort, try this with your CD original if possible... If not, download the newest and use the extraction method...

There are at least two programs installation of HP (applications) and possibly a setup Windows that will need to be changed.

I was able to get the printer to work in uninstalling and reinstalling the software... BUT.

I found to do this, you must go to

Control Panel... Devices and printers... Right-click on the printer, and then remove the system.

Then, uninstall and reinstall the software.

Also, be sure to set the Compatibility Mode of the installer for Win 7 or earlier. XP SP3 seems to be a good universal choice.

    IMPORTANT...

You should be able to get the software to install Original function if it is fairly recent.

If you are using the CD, you will not extract anything...

If your drivers moved there not because of an error message... .not the correct operating system, you will need to EXTRACT the Setup program in a FOLDER, such as a .zip file. You will need a program like WinZip, WinRar, 7Zip, or even to do.

    VERY IMPORTANT...

After extraction, if necessary, set the Compatibility Mode of the Installer file and any other application on the CD-ROM or in the file. There are usuallyat least three installers for an HP printer. Then double the installation program

  • My HP OfficeJet 6500 wireless printer prints slowly with very long breaks during printing...

I saw a very old post on this but no solution so I'll try a new position.

Also, I'm not sure I'm even barking to the top of the tree on the right.

My PC is running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and is up-to-date with all the updates.

Recently my Officejet 6500 a more printer E710n-z began to print very slow with long breaks and, in some cases, falling output and in other cases simply do not print.  If I print the various printer and cartridge of test pages from the printer itself, they have long breaks but seem to finally print correctly.  I've been playing with that try to circumvent the problem as long as I'm not really sure print the (from the front of the printer) are always correct.

I uninstalled the printer and all its associated and software reinstalled using the latest download available on the HP support site, but it made no difference.

After sanding my teeth to a measure of costly troubleshooting, I bought a set of completely new and installed HP cartridges.  Once again, no difference.

You don't know if it is a herring or not but when I printed him using both iPrint from my iPhone, as well as the HP ePrint feature email, while still having the very long pause he eventually print a text message only correctly.

Finally, on the first time I printed the properties/test page it printed the HP, logo, displayed while the ink was drying for what seemed like a minute ago, powered form to another page, delayed for awhile and then printed broadband nonsense, form fed once again, and after another long break printed what appeared to be the upper third or the word Windows.

Sometimes when printing from the iPhone, it will display a low ink message - even if it has a new set of cartridges HP - and sometimes the PC displays an error saying: he can't communicate with the printer.  Can I still access the printer with the function of Windows printer or HP web access so clearly the wireless network connection is still viable.

What do you think?  This old printer a year and a half has simply turned into an opportunity to mimic the famous scene copied from office space?  Or has someone else observed or experienced this and knows how I could solve this problem?

Thanks in advance for help you what can offer?

    Howard

    Redmond, WA

Thank you.  The article that you included was one of the first I found when I started researching this issue.  I also found articles on other uninstallation methods, as well as to remove and clean the printhead - everything I tried.

Only, the printer is connected to the wireless network.  The power is connected directly to a wall outlet that I follow for the level of tension and the power used.

The problem seems to be resolved now.  If she does not return to its recalcitrant ways in a few days, I will consider this closed.

    Here's what I did...

I was trying to uninstall from the control panel.  I noticed that when I would get the ini file, read all entries in the menu 'Start' mistake had been removed, but immediately after recognizing the error it would make it back to the starting point and put everything back the way he found.  I tried to use the Task Manager to kill msiexe point of error, but it could still roll back.

Then, for who knows what reason, I tried running uninstall directly from the menu start.  This time, when he stopped and I killed the uninstall process, he stayed collapsed.  I then used the Fusion driver to remove any HP printer drivers that followed RevoUninstaller Pro to find and remove all files followed by CCleaner to clean the registry and associated registry entries.  I'm not advertising or advocating, these are just the tools I've used.

After a reboot, the printer seems to be [finally] completely gone.  I installed the software again and this time it seems like it should be and [so far at least] works properly as well.  I do not think that I messed up [voluntarily] with this printer because I bought a few years ago.  I don't know what caused it, but it seems that I had several instances of competitors or software drivers in layers.

I made a clone of the disc and then tried again to uninstall the printer.  Even if it was just after a successful installation and a reboot he would always leave with the same error "Unable to read" in the same place.  The error code in the case where the file is the same as that used by other systems for "not enough contiguous disk space.  I have 384 GB free on a 1 TB drive and Norton reorganizes the disk every week so that the error number can be a distraction, but I have yet to find something better to inform me.  What initially may also be why the restore will not complete successfully or the other.

Ah the joys of PC ownership.  You have to wonder how many PCs get retired every year simply because the owner has not been enough tech-savvy and pay someone else's expensive with no guarantee of success.

    Sigh...
