volume of letter D for drive D factory-image

I have a 64 bit Vista Home premium. D factory-image disk volume capacity is 13.12, space of the volume used is 11.34, free space 1.79. Hp health and support again me ' why you asked this question . When I click it, it says I'm reaching of maximum capacity. I read that for best results you should have at least 15% free space. Brand new out of the box I was only 13%. I use it only for play games, e-mail and internet. I have a lot of games in charge, but they are on the C drive I have 78% of free space. I unloaded a lot of trial installed in the factory and freebie, Ebay type stuff and a lot of that kind of thing. None of this makes much difference. I don't know anything about computers... yet. But I'm learning. I run Disk Cleanup a lot and have together on auto defrag and I run it manually. I'm puzzled. No entry or help will be greatly appreciated.

I don't know why you get all messages at all help from HP. I wouldn't worry about it or space on the recovery partition. If it's confusing, call HP support. It is their help and their error System. Me, I would leave it alone. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • "Extend volume" option not available for drive C on Vista

I want to thank my C drive, I made unallocated space to use for this, but right click on the C drive and the "Extend volume" option is not highlighted.  What should do?  Need more space on C and have plenty left on D.

    * original title - reader C extend is not highlighted *.

You can make the wrong way.

You can't take a piece off D: and nail it on C:

If you have C: and D: togther you remove D: > and then extend C: into the now unallocated space where all D: was.

Save all data on D: 1.

  • Why volume TM on my external drive recording also 2 other volumes to TM?

    As above.

I have 3 volumes on My Passport for Mac external hard drive.  One is for backups of TM and the 2 others dedicated to Carbon Copy Clone volumes (just in case my mac turns on fire etc).

In Finder, when I attach my passport, 3 volumes appear, if I eject the 2 that I don't need it or not, the TM volume record as TM should, but it records also 2 other volumes.  What I am doing wrong?

Are you sure that TM is actually backup volumes on the same physical disk?

To open system preferences the Time Machine pref pane, then EXCLUDE what you do not want saved by TM.

  • Assigning a drive letter to a drive, external drive with USB data in Windows 7?

The computer is an Acer Aspire. Device Manager | Portable devices | Watch "E:\. ».  E is another way not assigned the letter of the drive here, so it must be the external hard drive.  Device Manager indicates that the USB device does not work correctly.  F5 key and trying to take Action - Rescan disks gets nowhere.  Diskmgmt.msc says he doesn't "will not change drive letter and paths" without my first initialization. I don't want to lose the data, therefore, "Cancel".  The USB device is a USB - DSC5 cutting USB 2.0 SATA/IDE hard drive adapter.  It works fine on my laptop, but only with a boot cold on the laptop.  Cutting don't recognize the fact that I asked for their e-mail service department.  I am trying to load the data to the external hard drive on the Acer.  Can be the cure to help Forum my ignorance of how to do it?  I'll be very grateful for any help.

Again, I am glad it worked.

  • Why-letter from external drives gets changed in windows 7

    Hi all

Can someone please advise, why the external drive letters gets changed even after changing disk management in windows 7.

He worked for two days and turns again.

In Windows, each external storage device is assigned a unique ID (UID). That UID and the corresponding parameters are stored in the registry. The seetings include the drive letter assigned as well. If one of the drive letter is assigned to tell the reader, manually, after unplugging it, the same drive letter assigned to the drive B, the letter for the drive B. For example, if A player is connected again, a new letter is assigned automatically. You may notice that the drive letter for drive B cannot be used as drive B is disconnected, and yet the settings in the registry makes Windows assign a new drive letter to a drive, like the manually assinged drive letter B is allocated for drive B and the next time you connect player B the same drive letter is assigned, according to the registry settings.

Generally more recent computer ship from the factory with an area of the drive partitioned and set aside for an original image with the intention that in case of major problem, the image can be used to restore the computer back to how it was when it left the factory.  This partition usually just enough free space so that it does not generate the warning of disk space is low.  That the score of the player is not intended to be used by you to store additional data.  If you have done this, you can move the files that you saved it (intentionally or not) on your main (and much larger) drive.

  • Is there a way to limit the volume and not only for music?

    Hello

I have a child who loves the max volume. However, it is not only bad for his ears, he pushes the rest of the family crazy.

As much as I saw him, he has no control master volume where you can limit the volume - that it JUST for music, leaving the rest of us stranded.

I tried mental health of volume app, but since it's an app, it can be disabled without a password and so my child understood how close. So that one does not work.

Anyone know of another way to limit the amount of EVERYTHING?

    Hi Makkapakka777,

I understand that you like to limit the volume on your iPad so that it cannot be increased beyond a certain point. Fortunately Restrictions allows you to set a volume limit that requires an access code to remove. The article below the link provides more information about the configuration and use of the Restrictions.

  • Device problem: "Master UDS Bus of Kernal USB driver software Bus by TCP is not installed. Looking for driver fails.

New install of Win 7.  Control Panel >... > devices and printers: problem with the computer. Convenience store ran with results: "pilot of Master NODES Bus of Kernal USB software Bus by TCP is not installed. Looking for driver fails.

Note: the only known problem I have is that I can't print to a printer USB connected in local (HP 5280).  Curious, the printer PC utility I can print a test page.  Microsoft Office 2007 apps, not printing.

I get the same error message.

It seems to be related to my D - Link DIR-655 Router and software (offered through D-Link) called "SharePort," which allows the USB port at the back of the router to use for networking!

I have 5 PCs on my home network and printer. With installed Shareport, I connected my printer to the router via the USB port. I don't have to have the computer on it, I used initially to install the printer.

To access the printer on any PC, I just have the icon in my taskbar.

The error message is displayed because, by default, SharePort is closed and it reads it as "not installed"!

I used it with Vista and Windows 7 Ultimate x 32 and x 64 with no problems!

Just as with the 'coprocessor' "impossible to install driver" error message, I uninstalled them in (several times) Device Manager and the error messages no longer appear!

So, in my case, the messages themselves were the only mistake!

  • No Protection for drive "D" should be on? How do I do that?

I just accidentally discovered that the Protection settings for my Windows 7 Pro show that 'C' protection is enabled but "D" protection is disabled.

Don't know how or why my computer is built that way.  I think that the "D" drive is a partition - but still uncertain (obviously I'm not a technician, not a programmer or hardware expert).

I use drive D and for everything I do on my computer - all the time.  I only use the C drive to organize real programs.

No Protection for drive "D" should be on?  How do I do that?

    Thank you

Original title: the System Protection - settings

Well, this is what happens when the assumptions in order to give a quicker response.

If the partition D: is something you created and use it to store your data, then go ahead and turn on the System Protection.  For this data partition, consider Protection of the system configuration to save only the "previous versions".  See Fig. 2 here--> http://programming4.us/desktop/1368.aspx

If I were you, however, I would seriously consider using some external media for backup - a network drive, a connected USB drive and/or storage Internet 'cloud' - in addition to turning on the system of Protection.

Protection of the system creates "Restore Points" on the same partition that it protects.  If the problem is that you delete an important file by mistake, or if it gets corrupted somehow, then having a "previous version" available on the same drive is very convenient.  But what happens when all of the disk fails (hard drives fail, some more often than others)?  If the Protection system is your only backup, you end up with nothing.  If you are a digital artist, and these files are related to work, do not rely on the Protection of the system.
