Volume of the computer

Last week my computer no sound. I went into the Control Panel, checked mixer, everything seems fine. I am not all that computer savy so don't know what to do next. Thank you

Hello

Try the following.

Open windows control panel, open Windows Update, select "View update history" in the left pane and then select "Installed updates" link in the next window.

Locate the KB2962407 update, right click and choose uninstall.  Once completed, restart the computer, open windows control panel, open Windows Update and select "Check for updates".  You will see the update that you have uninstalled just offered once again - right click and select "Hide update".

When windows has reloaded, use the Recovery Manager to reinstall your original IDT HD Audio driver as it is stated in the document at the link below.

    Hello

    Thank you for your response.
I did a "System Restore" and the icon reappeared, and the sound now works.
I restarted the computer a couple of times, but that does not solve the problem.  Also, I went into the Panel and checked to see if the speakers were working and were lit, and they were.
It wasn't until I did the restore of the system that the icon reappeared and the noise began to work again.

  • How to adjust the volume on this computer at maximum volume

my laptop volume is very low.  I'm trying to maximize volume

Apart from turning up the volume, there's not much you can do.  Some laptops have very weak speakers.

    However, you can try this:

    1. From the desktop, right click on the volume near the clock icon, then choose playback devices.
    2. Double-click the playback device (probably speakers).
    3. Under the tab highlighted, locate and resolve any improvement that could help.  These options vary depending on the manufacturer of your system and what features and functions is supported by their system.
  • HD is full, but there is no files on the computer

Hi, I've been struggling with this problem for quite a while now. I can't seem to find anything online that actually works, I hope someone can help.

I have an iMac 27-inch retina display, 1 TB HD. I look on the storage and the other section of the computer takes more than 850 GB, how is this possible? I have next to no file on the disk hard because I'm always working from the external hard drive, I emptied the trash so I know it's clean, I tried "erasing free space" in the utility application disc, but towards the end it always come with the disc full boot, then when the process is complete I get the error message "cannot create the temporary file.

I am a Publisher so I use photoshop and Premiere Pro a lot, would it something to do with these programs?

    Thank you

    Dan

For the other category in the display of information storage, see this support article. If the display appears to be inaccurate, try to rebuild the Spotlight index.

Empty the trash if you don't have it already done. If you use iPhoto, emptying his trash internal everything first:

    ▹ iPhoto empty the trash

    In pictures:

▹ Show of the recently deleted ▹ file delete all

Do the same thing in other applications like Aperture, with an internal feature of the trash. Then, restart the computer. Temporarily, which will free up space.

According to the documentation from Apple, you need at least 9 GB of free space on the boot volume (as shown in the Infolog) for normal operation, not the mythical 10%, 15% or any percentage. You also need enough space to allow the growth of the data over. There is little or no advantage in terms of performance to get more free space than the minimum Apple recommends. Storage space you'll never use is wasted space.

See this support article for some easy ways to free up storage space. A common waste of space is old backups iTunes to mobile devices. As shown in this support article, select the devices tab in the iTunes preferences window, select the backup that you want to remove and click on delete the backups. Keep at least a backup of each device you use yet.

You can, if you wish, use a tool such OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore the volume and discover what is take up space. You can also delete files with it, but not unless you don't know you know what you remove and that all data is stored safely. This means that you have several backups, not one. Note that the ODS only works with OS X 10.8 ("Mountain Lion") and later versions.

IMPORTANT: This comment is neither a recommendation nor an endorsement of any third party software. You should always do your own research to determine if the unknown software is safe and useful. Don't take the word of anyone, including mine.

Deletion of files inside a photo library or iTunes will damage the library. Such a library should be changed within the application that created it. It is the same for e-mail files.

Go further than if the problem is not resolved by the steps above.

ODS cannot see the whole file system when you run simply by double-clicking; He sees only the files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you must run it as root.

Back up all the data now.

Install the application in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it runs.

Triple-click any where in the text line below on this page to select, then copy the selected text in the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination.

    security execute-with-privileges /A*/OmniDiskSweeper.app/*/M*/* 2>&-

Launch the Terminal application integrated in one of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search. Select from the results (it should be at the top).

☞ In the Finder, select go utilities ▹ of menu bar or press the combination of keys shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

Paste in the Terminal window by pressing command + V. You will be asked for your login password.

The application window opens behind other open windows. When you scan a volume, the window will finally show all files in all folders, sorted by size. It may take a few minutes for the app to finish scanning.

I do not recommend that you make a habit of doing. Do not delete anything as root. If something should be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then remove by safer alternatives. If in doubt, leave it alone or ask for advice.

When you are finished with the app, he quit and also to leave Terminal.

  • NB520, NB550D - how to set the volume to the State of sleep and music?

I'm looking for an opportunity to adjust the volume to the State of sleep and the music...
The mere fact that I noticed is that volume depends on the defined level when the computer was working. But how do I change the State of sleep and the music when the comp is off swich?

    Hi communication,

I checked the user manual and found the following information:
The volume control and mute setting may be different between the Windows mode and the mode of sleep and the music. Before connecting the audio device to the computer, turn down the volume of the audio device. Sound quality can also be different.

So based on this information, you will need to adjust the volume in Windows, but it might be a little different. I have not found any information on the change of volume in sleep mode and music.

  • Apple pro no keyboard no Volume or the eject button

    Hello

I'm running OS X 10.5.8 on an EMac with the original Apple Pro Keyboard.

The OS X install is a fresh, as installation when I got the computer it was protected by locked.

No matter what I do, the eject button and the Volume buttons above the numeric keypad on my "Apple Pro Keyboard" do not work.

The volume buttons seem to work a bit in iTunes, if I press and hold the button for a very long time.

I tried the keyboard on my MacBook Pro, and it works very well.

I also tried a Kensington Slim Mac on the Emac and after keyboard through the wizard keyboard and unrecognized, which worked well as well (including the Media Eject keys and Volume).

I tried to do a reset of the PRAM on the Emac, but this doesn't seem to be a facility of this computer.

The EMac is a special eBay and only cost me $10 ;-), but it seems to work fine apart from this question.

Please help me solve this problem, because it drives me crazy.

    Hello

Can try this to eject an icon at the top right of the screen...

On your main hard drive, dig in the System > Library > CoreServices > Menu Extras. Inside this window, double-click the icon called Eject.menu.

  • HP ENVY laptop - 15 - ae101no: control of the Volume on the keyboard keys do not work!

    Hello

Volume control keys had suddenly stopped working, and I have no idea why. I have the model HP ENVY laptop - 15-ae101no (ENERGY STAR). Could you please help me fix it? Thank you!

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download Realtek HD Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp74501-75000/sp74867.exe

When finished, press and hold the Windows key and press R

In the run window, type devmgmt.msc and press to enter.

In Device Manager, expand sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the Realtek device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you are finished, download and reinstall the Chipset driver at the following link.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp72001-72500/sp72105.exe

When the reinstallation of Chipset is finished, stop the laptop.

Disconnect the power adapter and then hold button power supply for 30 seconds, then release.

    Plug the power adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f9 to load the default values (sometimes it is f5, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

When windows has reloaded, open your download folder, right click on the installer of Realtek and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, reboot the laptop and let windows load completely for a few minutes before checking.

    Kind regards
