Volume of Windows 7

Hello I had this problem with the volume on Windows 7 Home Premium, recently (today), I started my computer as usual nothing out of the ordinary and went to change the volume, when I clicked on the icon there was a brief loading times and then nothing. I waited a bit and tried again still nothing. I did a search General on Google and found that I could change the volume in the system volume control panel, when I click on that nothing happens. The only thing that can change the volume of my system is so right now the multimedia keys on my keyboard. I've done a few reboots and whenever I can use the volume icon for a brief time before it just closed $ and stops working. I went in my process and dumping SndVolume.exe to try to restart it, but it does nothing. One last thing I did to fix this was to reinstall my driver realtek audio, I use built into the sound card on my motherboard (Gigabyte 78 - LMT). Any info would be helpful if you need more information on my profile or what just ask I will be more than willing to offer more details. Thank you in advance (and sorry for the bad traffic / grammar I always sucked when it comes to English)

Hello Nicolas,.

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

According to the description of the problem you are facing problem with volume on your Windows 7 computer. The question might be if there is a third party application/software is causing the problem.

Then, I suggest you to try the steps below and see if it helps.

Method 1

Try to start the computer in a clean boot state and see if it helps you to solve the problem.

Put your system to the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

  • Is it possible to adjust the sound volume of Windows to more than 100%?

    Hello

I have a very simple question:

Is it possible to adjust the sound volume of Windows to more than 100%?

I explain why I need to do this:
I can watch DVD files or .avi with my computer and VLC, that allows to adjust the volume to 100%. Some DVDs have a very low sound. So if I set VLC to 200% volume and the system volume to 100%, I can watch movies in good sound conditions. Then, my computer speakers are strong enough for me watching a movie.

However, I have a problem with VSD: I use VOD with Windows media player and that player does not allow me to adjust the sound to more than 100%. So I put the sound of Windows media player at 100%, the sound of Windows to 100%, but the sound is very low.

Please don't tell me to buy speakers, mine are pretty strong, and I find it uncomfortable to plug the speakers.

Please don't tell me to use a software that increase the volume of the file I want to watch VOD.

Is there a way to increase the sound volume of Windows to more than 100%?

Please don t tell me this, please don t tell me that. You want to hear other people's opinions or what?

AFAIK all sound level settings in Windows are synchronized and if you change the sound level in the properties of the speaker at the same level will appear in the Windows for the Volume Mobility Center and the maximum level is 100%. No more than that.

As you already wrote the sound level can be increased in combination with Windows and some players.

Is there any other way to watch these videos, but using WMP?

    Hi TheDarkTrainer,

Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of Windows Vista.

I need more information to help you better.

    1. What is the brand and model of the card its installed on the computer?

2 - is the first time you encounter the problem?

For single channel sound cards, you will only be able to see the green bar for Master Volume control and not for other applications such as Windows Media Player.

Controls on other applications are given to control the volume of the special request regarding the Master Volume control.

For example, if you scroll the bar to set the Master Volume to 100% and then play a music file in Windows Media Player. You can try to open the mixer Volume and increase/decrease the volume for Windows Media Player, you will notice that the master control will set the green bar accordingly and don't let not the green bar to cross the bar of the Windows Media Player.

If you disable the control Volume for Windows Media Player, it will automatically make the green bar will disappear from the Master Volume control.

However, if you have several applications running on the machine at the same time and using the sound card, you can try to change the levels on different controls to see the effect.

With several cards his channel as sound blasters, it would be possible to see the green bar on individual applications also.

Hope the information will help. Please post back and we do know

    Jackin salvation,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers community.

When resizing of volumes in Windows7, you must be aware of the following criteria:

    • Only you have the possibility to reduce or enlarge NTFS or RAW (unformatted) partition using Windows 7 tools.
    • When you shrink a partition, files not movable as a page file or a shadow storage area are not resettled. This is why you cannot reduce the size of the Windows beyond volume where these types of files. If you need to reduce the volume, you will need to remove, move or delete the page file or the shadow first storage area, and then reduce the volume and then add the page file or shadow storage on the disk area.
    • If enough bad clusters are found on the disk partition will not shrink.
    • You must be logged on to an administrator account in order to resize Windows Volumes in windows 7.

Windows 7 Partitions or Volumes of shrinkage

This section shows must shrink a Windows volume or partition. To do this, we must open the Windows 7 disk management tool. The following steps will guide you in this process.

    1. Click the button on the Start Menu in the bottom left of your desktop , and then click the Control Panel menu option.

    2. When Control Panel opens, click on system and Maintenance category.

    3. When opens in system and Maintenance category, scroll down and click on Administrative Tools.

    4. Double-click the computer management icon. The console of the computer management will now open. Down, you will see a category called storage and under this category will be the disk management icon, as shown below.

    5. Click on the disk management icon, and you will now be in the disk management utility as shown in the figure below. This utility you can see all the partitions on your computer and format, delete, create, develop or resize them. For this tutorial, I'm going to resize the partition E: of 16 GB so that when completed, there is a 8 GB partition and provides another 8 GB of free space I can use for other purposes.

    6. To shrink the partition, just click with the right button on the partition that you want to work with and select reduce . In this example, I click right on the E: partition and in the menu that appears, I select shrink.

    7. A screen similar to the one below appears. This screen indicates the size of the current partition you, how you can reduce it to a field where you can enter a specific amount to reduce, and then how big partition will be once it shrinks. By windows 7 default enters the maximum amount that you can reduce the volume, but if you want to change this amount, do so by entering the amount in MB in the enter the amount of space to shrink in MB: field. When you are satisfied with how windows 7 will shrink the partition, click the minimize button.

    8. Once windows 7 is complete decreases the volume, you will be in the disk management screen, but now the partition size will be the size you requested as shown below.

Now that you have reduced the size of your volume of Windows, you can close the computer management console.

You have now finished reducing your score and you have the extra space available for use as required.

Windows 7 Partitions or Volumes extension

This section shows that you must extend a Windows volume. To do this, we must open the tool of disk management where we can resize our volumes. The following steps will guide you in this process.

    1. Click the button on the Start Menu in the bottom left of your desktop, and then click the Control Panel menu option.

    2. When Control Panel opens, click on system and Maintenance category.

    3. When opens in system and Maintenance category, scroll down and click on Administrative Tools.

    4. Double-click the computer management icon. The computer management console will now open. Down, you will see a category called storage and under this category will be the disk management icon, as shown below.

    5. Click on the disk management icon, and you will now be in the disk management utility as shown in the figure below. This utility you can see all the partitions on your computer and format, delete, create, develop or resize them. For this tutorial, I'll extend the E: partition so that it uses the rest of the available space on the disc 1.

    6. To extend the partition, he just click right-click on the partition that you want to work with, and then select the Extend option. In this example, I click right on the E: partition and in the menu that appears, select Extend.

    7. A wizard appears as shown below. Press the Next button to continue.

    8. A new screen, shown below, is displayed allowing you to select the free space available on your local hard disks that you can use to extend the space of the selected partition. It is important to note that Windows 7 allows you to extend a volume using free space on the same drive as well as the other disks. I strongly suggest that you do not extend a volume on a disk with free space of the other. It is because if one of the disks has a hardware failure, then all data on this volume will be removed. Rather just to use the free space on a drive that contains the volume you extend
      .

As discussed in step 5, for this tutorial we are going to extend my 8 GB partition (drive E :) to the total size of disk 1 using all the available space. As disk 1 is only available free space on my computer, windows 7 automatically select as shown in the image above and use the maximum amount available to extend the partition. If there were other drives with free space that they have shown during the selection available . If you want to extend the volume to a lower amount you can change in the Select the amount of space in MB: field. In the contrary case, press us the button Next .

    9. You will be now be presented with a confirmation screen. If you are sure you want to extend the volume, press the Finish button. Otherwise, press the back button to make changes or the Cancel button to cancel this operation.

    10. Once Windows 7 completed to extend the volume, you will be on the screen disk management, where you can see the amount that you have extended with the new size. An example of this is shown below.

At this point, you can close the Management window of the computer that your task is completed.

    Hope this information is useful.

Let me know if it worked.

  • Volume controls Windows 8.1 does not

I have known problems with control of volume with Windows 8.1. I have noticed, regardless of which player media I use, that the volume in the drive control does not affect the output up to what he gets 10 or less (out of 100). When you do that, it falls drastically to where I imagine the volume level of 10 would be properly. This happens even when my main laptop volume is defined.

I do not use any kind of volume normalizer limiter/compressor in one of these programs, nor I use all Windows Communications volume reduction options (mine is set to "Do nothing"). I also use not all enrichment equalization loudness on this sound card, since she is not even in development options. It is native to the Windows OS.

I use the programs include: Windows Media Player, GOM Player, and VLC Media Player.

The main volume of the laptop still work correctly, but I would like to have control of the audio volume and individual programs. It is of course apart from the fact that it should operate correctly regardless of how I want to use them.

Has anyone else noticed and lived this glitch? Can anyone offer any advice that might explain or correct this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi AnthonyRicci,

-Were you able to hear the audio without any problems in Media Player?
-What version of Media Player do you use?

Try these methods and see which one of them helps to fix the problem.

Method 1: Make sure that the equalizer is balanced

If the equalizer is rejected, you may experience sound related problems.

    To check this setting:

    a. click view, improvements, graphic equalizer. Once the graphic equalizer is displayed, make sure that all settings are at least halfway.

Method 2: Check the settings of the sound

Verify that your settings are correct. When other software programs, it is possible for bad programs adjust settings audio, causing problems with your sound.

  • The audio volume with Windows XP Pro. Result of the SP3 distorted audio recorder?

    Hello.

Is it me or don't drop result audio volume of my WAV in a Windows XP Pro update. SP3 sound recorder? Is this a bug in this program or something else?

Also, does anyone know a good free audio program that will make lots more low audio volume in a bunch old WAV files? One is a pain in the abdomen end-to-end. :(

Thank you in advance. :) Ant @ Ant links fed quality (http://aqfl.net) and The Ant Farm (http://antfarm.ma.cx).

Audacity will do what you want - a good. Its freeware and is a full blown audio editor. You need to normalize your track and to use a negative value to reduce the volume.

    http://Audacity.sourceforge.NET/

One thing though: If your wav file already has a built-in distortion (that is to say "clipping" - when some parts of the song go above 0 dbl and so distort) nothing you do will get rid of the break of the said.

You can see this by looking at the waveform track in Audacity. Is there is no flat areas where there should be highs, and they are above 0dbl then your track is cut off and there is a high risk of distortion. Is there is no flat areas (only the peaks) then your track should be ok (as long as they are not above 0dbl) and you can 'normalize' it.

Try Googling "normalize batch file" (or similar), you can find what you want.

    See you soon,.

I'm reading a file .mov on Windows Live Movie Maker 2011 Version (Build 15.4.3555.0308). I went into Edit and the Volume of the video and mute is activated, but he won't let me not reactivate the sound by clicking on it. The scroll bar can slide backwards, but does not make a difference. Already, I went and "repaired" Windows Live Movie Maker in my programs. The video has sound when he played on Windows Media Player isn't the video or the speakers.

Why the difference and where/how I have not these 175 GB?

Because you use iSCSI to the EQL which is a block of storage. The EQL is not that someone gave above deleted. If a deletets OS given it just the brand like deletet in the allocation table.

Think when formatting a disc format and NOT the quick HELP. The operating system writes zeros and for storage, it looks like valid data... but the OS it will appear as free space later. For the EQL Volume, that means 100% usage.

Windows 2012R2 supports unmap aka space recovery. It depends on your FW EQL and HIT Version and a few other dependencies as Thinpro Volume on the EQL iirc. With that you say the EQL blocks can be removed to obtain a logical space left.
