Vostro 1400 w s/pdiff

Hello gurus.

My question is simple and fast.

I have vostro 1400 which is one day old.

I want to connect it to my home theater receiver

I noticed that he (notebook) a Sigmatel High Def (SPDIF). and he says that there is on my right panel.

on my right panel, I have only the S-Video Connector. (and usb and 15-pin VIDEO output)

I have google and ebayed a bit and came across the following card (s-video > spdif)

http://CGI.eBay.com/new-Dell-Inspiron-Latitude-Laptop-S-video-cable-044CTV_W0QQitemZ350018786739QQihZ022QQcategoryZ73388QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I tried to find out if my vostro version is supported. (that's where you come)

DRM for the answers!

  • Vostro 1400 - Intel 965 Express - 22 '' monitor: resolution not availible

I just bought a Vostro and want to use my monitor 22 '' Viewsonic to extend my desktop.

The screen resolution is 1680 x 1050, but this is not supported in the Dell driver, then the output is blurry regardless of the value that I choose.

As others have posted, when trying to install the driver updated to Intel, access is denied. This means that I can't even modify the inf file and set an appropriate resolution.

Can anyone provide a solution to this?

  • Black screen on Dell Vostro 1400 laptop

After installation of microsoft update last night and reboot I now a black screen at any time.  The computer will start and has sound, but you cannot see anything on the screen even in startup mode.  I tried an external monitor and got a screen but it was just a bunch of colors flickering on the screen.  Any ideas?

    Hello

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

Press F8 several times and last good known Configuration is possible.

Another method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure)
CTRL + ALT + DELETE and on the tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe.

If you can access the SafeMode or Windows, then a system restore might work.

Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all patch is usually on a base hit or miss.
That there is no information on a black screen as it is on a blue screen just adds to the
Difficulty. Often using a restore point or Startup Repair will have no effect. You can try a

    geohaz
The headset plugs work OK but no sound from the speakers.

Re-install the Sigmatel audio driver as advised by Nikhil D. Note that there is no driver Sigmatel for Windows 8 for what you need to do is download the driver Sigmatel audio, R171786 for Vista, and then install it in 8 using the Vista compatibility mode.

If that does not solve the problem then you probably have a failure of the spindle circuit sense of the headphone jack. Check the Headphone Jack FAQ for more details on the issue and how to diagnose.

  • Windows Update displays the empty dialog box - cannot update (Vista x 32)

    Hello!

    Dell Vostro 1400 laptop
    Windows Vista 32-bit

I had this problem since December 08 and sought a solution for this problem on and off for 6 months now, hoping ultimately that someone could post a viable solution.  So far all that I tried and reading doesn't seem to work, but at the same time a lot of positions were never concluded by the original poster so, either they abandoned or found something else.
This image describes essentially the question that I have:
Here's my Log of Windows Update (to change the txt extension, so that I could upload it)
Following advice found on other posts, I tried using these two programs and changed nothing: windowsupdateagent30 - x 86 .exe and ResetWindowsUpdate.msi (in the first mode and aggressive mode, restarting after each time)
Let me know if there is any other information I can give you, I'm waiting for your tips.
    Bravo and thanks,

    Hi JensUS,

Thanks for posting your answers on the community forum.

According the information on the forum, it sounds as if, has)  There may be malware, virus on your system, B problems.)  Just system files are corrupt.

    Here are a few links that our community members have posted involving Malware and Virus protection.  Please run or walk through the suggestions as you wish;

    AntiVirus information: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistasecurity/thread/05e05fc2-e4eb-4a60-9384-7b1203941138

    Information of malware: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistasecurity/thread/ba80504b-61f1-4d71-960f-b561798b7b42

If the Antivirus or malware don't find any underlying problem.  If you are able to get the disk, following the suggestion of Matt can lead to the desired result.  If that fails, what Joseph has suggested is a good plan.  It is not a NEW INSTALLATION of Windows Vista, it replaces all just all the system files with the correct copy of the file system.  After it's over, you will have to reinstall any service packs and updates have been installed. (See note Joseph.)

Please let us know if further information is required on this issue.
