Vostro 1400 hard disc tray?

I have a new 320 GB SATA drive that I need to install in a Vostro 1400 laptop. Its going to be a periodical

switch between the original 120 GB drive bundled with the system, and would rather not have to

swap the tray every time. I searched Dell parts for a Vostro1400 disc tray and got the zip... Expanded the

seek to any laptop computer Vostro, thinking that as the1700 has space for two drives, it can be saved

This way... apparently not... Anyone have a p/n for one of them, or a source for them?

Thank you

Dave

I have a server RD230 with no hard drives, and four drives Western Digital 3.5 "SATA bare. All that miss me are the trays required to install hard drives. A comrade with the technical support told me that the hard drive platters are not a FRU, are not sold separately, and they are available only when purchased as part of a Lenovo brand hard drive.

This man is selling trays of OEM, but I don't know if they will work with the RD230. That all servers in the R-series use interchangeable HDD trays? In other words, if this man says that these trays is compatible with the RD240, can I have a reasonable level of confidence, they are compatible with the RD230?

Although actually happens, the server included hard drive trays. Despite the fact that our distributor and technical support Lenovo says the server does not have included hard drive trays! So never mind.

  • Disc tray will not open

I have a hp pavilion p2-1105, and every time I press the button to eject my disc tray opens. What can I do?

Please contact HP customer care by phone, chat or email... If the computer is still under warranty OR read this HP document entitled 'replacing a CD or a DVD player' for more information on the removal of the frame before seeing whether a small hole in the front of the CD/DVD drive. A trombone can be insterted which should lend the drive to open it, if a small hole.

  • Desktop computer - 110-412na: disc tray not opening completely and do not currently playing of the discs.

Disc tray is no longer fully opens, it stops before opening to halfway.

If I go out there, insert a disc and press again, the disc is recognized and the window will appear to the right of the screen asking what I want to do.  By choosing "Run Autorun.exe" nothing happens.

By pressing the eject button, or by selecting "eject" after right click on the drive icon, causes the tray not opening only partially again.

The computer was bought nine of H.P. in January this year.

Cd-writer/DVD disc tray does not open when you press the Open button, or when you use the buttons to control the media on the keyboard. How can I restore it to its operating state?

    Hi John,.

Please let me know exactly what happened when you tried my suggestions of first and second.

Of your most recent post, looks like you're watching the wrong part of the Device Manager. Optical drive is listed under "readers of CD-ROM/DVD-ROM". The info you gave appear under "drives". If the drive is not listed under "readers of CD-ROM/DVD-ROM" or there is no such section in Device Manager, then Windows do not see. If windows can't see it then this means that there is no power or that the drive is broken.

When you pushed the drive back in, the player no longer has much of the book or did you have to push all the way. If the latter, it means that the drive has no power or is broken.

With respect to the opening of the case, I guess I should ask first if it's a laptop or desktop?

    Hello

I have a tecra 9100 that is not booting at the moment. When I turn it on I get the Tosh start screen and I can choose a boot device if I want to. All that I choose (HARD/CD disc) all I get is the flashing at the top left cursor.

I got out the HARD drive and tried to start a CD/DVD but that doesn't work either. Also I can't get into the BIOS, I tried to do an upgrade via a bootable CD, but that no longer works.

    Cheers for any help

I use a HP pavilion Silmline s3760in (windows vista)

Is there anyway to solve this problem without changing the hard drive?

I'll be able to use the recovery discs if I change the hard drive?

    Dear customer,

Welcome to the Support Forum HP and we are happy to help you.

Looks like you are not able to start the operating system on your laptop.

We will surely help you with that.

According to the error message that you posted it is a hardware problem and drive hard need to be replaced

Please Contact HP if your HP laptop is under warranty, HP would replace the failed hard disk drive and provide recovery media to restore the operating system to factory after the replacement (if you have not yet created recovery disks/USB support)

You can also check your warranty here to check the status of the guarantee

Back up any personal data on an external drive if possible. Otherwise, you can connect the HDD defective via SATA USB adapter with another PC or a PC even after replacing the HARD drive & put in place of the operating system and try to copy / retrieve files.
