Vostro 3750 using precision M6700 LCD

A Vostro 3750 only comes with a 1600 x 900 LCD, and the very similar precision M6700 has an optional upgrade to a LCD 1920 x 1080.  I was looking for someone who could confirm that I could improve my Vostro 3750 screen.  However, there no topic on it anywhere that I could find on the internet.  Well, after my cracked screen my1600x900 old to 2 years (expired CompleteCare warranty), I decided to take the risk and bought a screen 1920 x 1080, for a precision M6700.

And hell, it works great!

My Vostro 3750 has a resolution of 1080 p (1920 x 1080) full.  I must say that 1600 x 900 is not good enough for me.  Now, I need to for the protection of my screen of my 2-year-old.

While Dell cannot guarantee this, maybe this post can help someone else I was wondering the same thing.

If you are going to do this, be careful when you replace your LCD displays.  I am a certified Dell and LCD screens are not considered to be a replaceable by units.  It is not a difficult job, but you can void a warranty and damage your laptop.  Make sure you know what you are doing before you start.

See you soon.

  • Vostro 3750 - display problem

    Dear forum

I have a laptop Dell Vostro 3750 age of 2 years. It has a problem in the display. But it works perfectly fine on external monitor. The laptop screen flickers sometime and I get a white screen Uni. And it works very well some time for a few minutes.

I tried with a new screen and tried to replace LCD video ribbon cable that connects the LCD to the motherboard. Just what this trial has not helped. Always the same problem continues.

What could be the cause? Could this be a problem in the motherboard?

    Help, please

    Thank you

If it works fine on your external monitor then your motherboard is OK. Either you have a problem with the connection/connector computer laptop screen or the screen itself. The ribbon cable can be a little difficult to replace. Make sure that it is not upside down.

  • Limit of 8GB memory Vostro 3750

Vostro 3750 description indicates memory limit of 8 GB

    but

the i7-2670QM cpu and specifications of the Intel HM65 chipset support 16GB.

Is there a technical reason why the V3750 will not support 16GB (2 x 8 GB)

memory DDR3 correctly specified - other than the question of taking in charge?

Even though Dell says the maximum memory on the Vostro of 3750 to 8 GB, I installed 16GB (2 x 8 GB) without any problems on my i7 3750.

I ran the linux based memtest + several times without problem and my Vostro seems to work perfectly.

I'm a happy camper... and will try 32GB (2 x 16GB) when the 16GB modules come around at a reasonable price.

    Good luck. :)

  • Use Higer Res LCD-Panel in Portege R200

I just bought a Portege R200 with a broken LCD screen.
I have a screen of spare LCD that I intend to use, but I thought is possible to use a + XGA, SXGA or even a SXGA + as the M400 has?
I know that M200 and M400 is a Tablet but what I understad they have the same measure to the size of the screen.

Does anyone know if there is another model of laptop that I could use?

    Thank you

    Hello

    As I m not wrong not the R200 was equipped with a 12.1 color TFT "(1024 x 768) Silicon Poly display." It s a TOSHIBA display LTM12C328

The m200 comes with a 12.1 "TFT screen LCD Poly-Silicon (LTD121KM1K) color too.
But it allows better resolution 1400 x 1050.

In my opinion, you should be able to use this view in the R200 too.

  • Turn off the screen on Tecra and using external monitor/LCD TV

I recently bought an LCD TV and was anxious to use it as a monitor for my Toshiba Tecra M2V. I ran into problems.

I seem to be unable to 'disable' the laptop screen and ONLY use the LCD TV screen at cary, work, games etc. I seem to be rather only beable to COMBINE the LCD with my LCD screen, by creating a "two" screen I followed all the online help and I am still unable to have one screen.

I just want some LCD TV as my screen!

Any ideas on how to do this? It's really a pain!

    TIA

    Hello

Usually, you should be able to do this by using the FN + F5 key combination. As far as I know if the device is connected to the TV, you have three options (maybe depends on the laptop model) LCD only, LCD and external, just the TV device.

You can also try to switch using GeForce properties:
Display properties > settings > advanced > GeForce tab > Device Settings > Select output device.

  • How to use my screen LCD of Qosmio F30 for play on the Playstation 2 using video and the port?

I plugged my Playstation 2 to my laptop using the plug-in software component video port on the right side of my computer. Everything is in place, but how to move the LCD screen to display Playstation 2? Please instruct me. Thank you.

    Hey Buddy,

Have you looked into the graphic properties of windows? These properties should be options that usually is activating your software component video plug-in, so you can use your PS2 with your laptop.

And before I forget: you must use a program that is grabbing the video input and display it on your desktop as intervideo windvr or something similar, check if you have this program.

  • How to use two displays LCD + with ft ROLLSIGN

    Hello

My project needs both screens to be there:

    (1) one only to display the alphanumeric text / does not require any user (Rollsign) input

    (2) to display graphics, images and gets to user input. (LCD)

Please suggest me how this can be accomplished. I've seen tutorials for setting a unique LCD with RPi (LINK HERE ), but what I want to do is

To attach a display simple just like that of the bus to show routes and destination. It would be a static in which no human contribution is required

And another kind of LCD tablets. so that the user can enter their choice

Please help me to find the correct VIEWS for types, and how can we programmed and connected to pi raspberry and if possible to the place where I can buy those as well.

    And another subsidiary issue?

and Yes, it is possible for me to use my tablet to LCD screen

    Thank you

    Hello

You can use the Java SE API like Jasper and the API of Google geo location on Raspberry.

You can use JavaFX to view your screen and hide the backend, it is more related to permission configuration and the boot of linux. I suggest you to use JavaFX user interface to work with and use any regular I2C LCD to make your roll sign proof-of-concept... I believe that the time and investment to use a sign of professional roller can be a problem for you at this time.

Due to legal issues, we can postpone the deadline for the challenge, but submit your idea with a working, same interface is not quite ready!

  • Vostro V131 using the Microphone via the headset.

    Hello

I wonder if I can use my mic (3.5 mm jack) via the headphone jack of my Vosto V131.

According to the German site, the V131 has a "combi" and a technician confirmed, too.
But he told me that I should ask in the forums.

But I have not found a way to make it work.
The "Dell Audio" driver only detects the microphone in the headphones and I have not found anything useful in the Internet.
And of course not only another device is listed in the menu "sound"and I can not change anything in the "Speaker".

    BTW, I found something interesting:
If start "Dell Audio", then the Windos Soundmenu musicplayback quality changes as I have to switch between the playback and recording.

Im looking forward to your answers
    Best regards, Chris

That is right. the Jack is designed to be used with headphones iphone like that.

Note that the decision-making has 4 segments that is not the standard configuration. If you want to use a standard microphone with it, you need an adapter, something like this:

Go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/laptop > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for the latest Vista drivers > download/install them.

    Then:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-AU/Windows-Vista/change-screen-resolution

    Change the screen resolution

Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They appear also smaller, so more items adapted to the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items adapted to the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images may have serrated edges.

  • Dell Precision M4700 (Windows 7 pro) starts not once configured with UEFI and Secure Boot

To all those who can help you:

I got a Dell Precision M4700 and I update bios A05. I was intending to move to Windows 8. Everything was fine and the bios update was successful. I started the new bios under Windows 7 Professional (base OS) factory-installed and was very good.

However, I can't get into the bios (not even see the POST from Dell or Logo) after I activate the UEFI and Secure Boot. This before I update to Windows 8 Pro. Now I'm stuck with a blank screen (same LCD not lit) and nothing to start. It's like a dead PC.

Help, please. Is that what I can do or should I contact Dell Support for repair?

    Thank you

I fixed it!  Just removed the CMOS battery, the BIOS got reset back to factory default.  So I did:

    (1) remove the battery

    (2) press the power button to the case of ground

    (3) remove the lower panel

    (4) disconnect the CMOS battery (it's tedious)

    (5) I hit the power button for some time (30 s) to clear the capacitors or something else, it was my theory, but I doubt it's necessary

    (6) use it to all back to the start

When I turned it on it turns on and turns off several times before finally stay standing and I was then able to enter the BIOS and all the settings have been restored to factory default.  I am new to Windows 7 on my machine so I'll repeat the process, this time without disabling the legacy option roms!

Here is the disassembly for precision M6700 and M4700 instruction manual if anyone needs:

I was talking about the Dell support problem and the guy said he would talk to his superior and see if something needs to be done, so I guess we'll see if something happens.

I hope it works for you!

  • Monitor flickering after UPDATE on m6700 accuracy

Hi, my system is a precision M6700 and after a long time, I decided to perform an update using the update dell program OFFICER, after upgrading my monitor began to falter.

It is difficult to for use in fact I write using a second computer, but I need help to fix the other. I think may be caused by error in order to update drivers, but everything was automatic, and I don't know how to uninstall and reinstall the drivers.

I tried to start with another partition of the Inspiron and the monitor works fine.

Can you help me please? If a person has found something similar?

    Thank you Emanuele

    Hi Emmanuel,.

Also had this problem come with the quick screen flashing, seems to be a bad driver. Solved by uninstalling the Intel HD 4000 peripheral (and deletion of the driver) and by installing a legacy driver located here:

  • Why my Dell Vostro have a Toshiba hard drive?

April 25, 2015, I contacted Dell warranty on my hard-drive on my Vostro 3750. They ran diagnostics, concluded it was defective (Test read HardDrive-Targeted; CFI:N; KYHD:N; DD:N; Dr:N). on 27 April, they sent a replacement under the service request number 910355792. So when it happened, I've swapped disks and returned the defective one. Now fast forward to December when I was able to install Windows 10 Pro. Site Web de Microsoft had only a few requirements to run, mainly RAM, graphics processing and an OS to date start with. I didn't know that Dell had a list of computers that were not to be tested with W10. The installation went along fine and let him update the necessary drivers, have pre-installed just enough so he can start and connect to the internet to update. I was unaware that one of the device drivers to settle and my computer seems to work very well. Then about two weeks ago, he started to slow down. I noticed it would begin to freeze a little bit, but he would always thaw quickly. Then a week ago, I wrote a document of night (College Sophomore so this computer is pretty much my life) and closed the lid for the night. Now, the battery life is already pretty bad, so needless to say it's dead during the night, but when I went to turn it back on it took forever, it lights up. Easily 10-15 minutes just to get to the login screen. I unlocked it and it brought back to my office to plug it back in on my desk, where it remains almost religiously. I then got on Dell Support, which is where I finally found the 3750 has not been tested with W10 and ran a quick diagnosis that says the hard disk, which has been listed as a TOSHIBA is in critical condition and must be replaced immediately. At this point, I had to see what was going on, so I opened the Device Manager went to disks and here, he said that my hard drive is a TOSHIBA MQ01ACF050. Well, that's weird. So I checked my event viewer to make sure and it was indeed migrated, configured and started when I allowed and installed W10 in December. There was also an unknown device in the event log which is how I discovered the missing driver. Then to top it all, the administrative events log had 16 000 events from the moment I installed W10 until today, almost everything else just tell Harddisk0 DR0 has a bad block. duh. So I'm saving all our important documents to an external hard drive and I guess I will be W8 but what I really want to know is why guaranteed Dell send me a Toshiba hard drive. Any advice on any of these issues would be sincerely appreciated.

There are only three manufacturers left portable players - WD, Seagate and Toshiba.  Almost all system vendors use each of them.
